On April 18, 2026, the Sidemen Charity Match took place. English-speaking content creators from YouTube and Twitch organized a football match at Wembley Stadium to kick for a good cause. A considerable amount was raised.
What kind of charity event is this? The Sidemen Charity Match
is a football match and at the same time a charity event that has been held annually since 2016. English-speaking content creators come together for a football match and collect donations. The donations are raised through ticket sales and contributions from viewers and are used for organizations that provide better conditions for children and adolescents, such as access to education.
This year, Sidemen actually managed to fill Wembley Stadium in England; the stadium was sold out with its 90,000 seats. No wonder, as the teams were packed with 34 high-profile content creators.
Among those present were KSI, JasonTheWeen, and Squeezie, who played in the YouTube Allstars team. In the opposing Sidemen team were Jynxzi, LazarBeam, and xQc.
Over 7 million euros in less than 4 hours
How much money was raised? The participation of many YouTubers and streamers brought great reach and thus many viewers who donated. In less than 4 hours during the football match, a total of £6,218,875 (approximately €7,144,243.60) was raised.
There were also plenty of goals: both teams managed to score 10 goals each, so the match had to be decided by a penalty shootout. In the end, the YouTube Allstars team with KSI as captain emerged victorious.
How was the game played? Since none of the participants were professional football players, the football match had some highlights of blunders but also some surprising moments.
The YouTuber Max Fosh, for example, received a yellow card from the referee, which he made burst into flames on the field using a magic trick.
The streamer xQc did not show his best side as the goalkeeper of Team Sidemen. He let numerous goals go by, in one way or another unfortunate. He caught the mockery of the community more than once.
In preparation for the football match, xQc completed a football training session along with Jyxnzi. He livestreamed the entire thing on his Twitch channel, but the stream had to be stopped after just under an hour. The stream protagonist simply did not have enough stamina: After less than 60 minutes, xQc has to end his Twitch stream because he presumably spent too many years at the PC
