Who is working on the single-player campaign? On September 8, 2022, EA announced that Ridgeline Games is now another studio collaborating on the development of the Battlefield franchise. Ridgeline Games is based in Seattle and is led by Halo creator Marcus Lehto (via news.ea.com).
The focus of the studio will be to create a narrative campaign set in the Battlefield universe. But it doesn’t stop there: An additional team from EA DICE will also be made available to assist in development.
What do the game makers say about the endeavor? Vice President and General Manager of EA DICE, Rebecka Coutaz, explains: “Our decision to expand our single-player team here at DICE is a proactive approach that equips our global teams with the resources they need at an early stage as we prepare for the next Battlefield experience” (via GamesIndustry.biz).
She expresses optimism regarding the plans for the campaign: “We have immense strengths and opportunities within our three global studios, with each team bringing its own deep franchise experience. Now we are able to expand the possibilities and benefit from new talents who will help Ridgeline write the next chapter of the franchise.”
Furthermore, Marcus Lehto, head of Ridgeline Games, adds: “Our vision, combined with their experience with the franchise, will help us develop a single-player campaign that will captivate players in new ways while remaining true to the classic elements that make Battlefield so unique.”
Thus, they want to awaken old feelings and enrich them with innovations to lead Battlefield campaigns into the future.
Blizzard has started a collaboration for Diablo 4. This is a very special kind. Han Kjøbenhaven, a fashion brand from Denmark, is now producing a new series of clothing for Hack&Slash, that is so outrageous that you have to see itto believe it.
What kind of collaboration is this? The Fashion Week took place in Milan, where many fashion brands revealed their latest collections. Among the participants was the Danish label Han Kjøbenhaven, which surprisingly announced a collaboration with the Hack&Slash game Diablo 4.
However, no beta codes were distributed, but rather abstract garments were presented that were heavily inspired by motifs from the Diablo IV game world Sanctuary.

A collaboration of a special kind: Many developers often collaborate with hardware manufacturers or other studios. This results in content that is meant to attract new players and fans. Fortnite is a prime example, as Epic Games has already collaborated with Marvel, DC, and even games like God of War. In 2022, Destiny 2 also followed this example.
The collaboration with the fashion label from Denmark, however, seems far from the actual target audience. So far, it is still unknown how expensive these garments will be. However, it is clear that they are certainly not meant to appeal to every player’s taste. The fashion is likely too abstract, complex, and striking for that.

Dungeons in World of Warcraft are a place of frustration – at least that’s what many players think. The chaos has become uncontrollable.
The endgame of World of Warcraft usually consists of well-known components, especially dungeons in the “Mythic+” category. The increasingly difficult instances present new challenges and entice with ever better loot. However, some players have had enough of it.
It’s not about the visual design of the dungeons or the story. The problem is the overwhelming number of effects that present more and more issues even for veterans and may even be contributing to the current shortage of healers.
Players find: Dungeons are too confusing
What is the criticism? In the subreddit of World of Warcraft, there was a post a few days ago titled “Dungeons in WoW have become incomprehensible,” which resonated with many players.
The criticism revolves around several points that can primarily be summarized as follows: Everything has become too confusing. It’s impossible for newcomers to figure it out, and even veterans are struggling more and more. The points are:
Trees and other objects block the camera. Other games make such things transparent; in WoW, you have to constantly rotate the camera.
Circlets everywhere that you have to avoid. It’s worse than ever before.
Unfun mechanics like constant slowdowns, stuns, and fear effects.
Too many enemies with too many devastating spells at once, making it impossible to keep track without addons.
Lack of visual and auditory clarity: Which effects are important? Which need to be interrupted? What is deadly and what is a friendly effect? Why do some enemy effects have nearly the same color as the ground?

Healer shortage: Have dungeons become too demanding?
One of the biggest points of criticism concerns healing in current dungeons. This has become significantly harder and more chaotic with Dragonflight, leading, according to the thread, to fewer healers wanting to fill this role. Internal-Dot-290 commented:
Healing has become insane. With deadly mechanics everywhere, the need to constantly avoid projectiles and circles, monitor health bars, and prepare for the big spells that take a huge chunk from all health bars. Healing has become such a painful experience that there seem to be more tanks than healers now. The result of making the game harder for DPS characters is that healers now have it even worse as they must deal with these mechanics in addition to everything else.
In most other games, healing is known as the “chill” role. In WoW, it’s the opposite.

Much agreement from the community: Even though the whole post reads like a “rant” where frustration is simply being vented – and that is partly intentional – there is much agreement.

How to solve “Legend Hunt” now
Why is there a change? The tasks for “Legend Hunt” revolved around the new Proto-Raids featuring Kyogre and Groudon. You had to battle against them, catch them, and collect the corresponding Proto-energy to trigger your own Protomorphosis.
However, the Proto-Raids were limited to the time of the Hoenn Tour and defeating and catching the two legendary monsters was not that easy. Those who hadn’t completed the research so far were concerned that they might not be able to do so anymore. Therefore, Niantic made a change so that these trainers can also receive their rewards.
This is new now: Specifically, the changes concern the tasks on boards 3 and 4. For these, you were supposed to catch a Groudon or a Kyogre to complete the respective board. However, you no longer have to do that, as reddit user Shadyogradyt discovered:

Accordingly, Niantic changed the task from “Catch a Groudon” or “Catch a Kyogre” to “Win a Raid,” and now you are no longer dependent on these two monsters. All other tasks remain the same.
What do the trainers say about the change? In the community, the change of the quest has brought joy and relief (via reddit.com):

Update from 28.02.23: The task “Activate Protomorphosis” has now also been adjusted in the game, as the image of a trainer shows. So, to solve it, you now need to perform a Mega Evolution. This should also make this task achievable for all trainers.
However, there is another task in the research that is now troubling the trainers. On board 5, you also need to activate a Protomorphosis. However, you need 400 Proto-energy for this. You could secure it during the weekend in the raids and received it as a reward depending on your team on boards 3 or 4.
Those who didn’t manage to do that will also not be able to progress here. And according to current information, this quest has not been adjusted either. Thus, one can read the following reactions on reddit:

The Twitch streamer Bobeek loves the German MMORPG “Tibia,” which was created in 1997 in Regensburg and is still being played today. In a recent stream, the Pole said he was offered €250,000 for his character, which he has been playing since 2007.
Who is that?
Bobeek has been on Twitch since 2014. The Pole exclusively plays the German MMORPG Tibia. He streams about 950 hours a year – on average, 360 people watch him.
You might think that he is the biggest Twitch streamer of Tibia, but he doesn’t stand a chance. Especially Portuguese-speaking streamers dominate the MMORPG from Regensburg on Twitch: In South America, some fund their livelihood with Tibia and even support a family with it.
Nevertheless, Bobeek is something special, as he has one of the strongest characters in Tibia worldwide.
This is what the streamer says now: As reported by the Polish site mmorpg.org, Bobeek has received an offer of $250,000 for his character, more than one million Złoty (via youtube).
For what character does someone pay so much money? The character has reached level 2,277 and is thus the second most powerful hero in Tibia overall. According to the statistics, the hero, an “Elder Druid,” was created on March 20, 2007. So he is already 16 years old.
Bobeek has also reached some milestones. He was the first hero to reach level 1,400 in Tibia in 2019.
Even more powerful than Bobeek is only the sorceress Goraca with level 2,287. She is married to Boobek in the game, and they have been playing together for a long time (via youtube).

Is he selling his character? No. The streamer said he rejected the offer, also because he didn’t want to bother figuring out whether the offer is serious or if there’s a troll behind it.
You know, I rejected the offer for a simple reason: I don’t feel like analyzing whether it’s a troll. But I’m also not interested in selling. You know, if a chauffeur would come, shit, or I don’t know, a pope would come and bring me a suitcase full of dollars, then I might change my mind. But even that doesn’t change the fact that I’m not interested in selling.
In the chat, a fan advised him to accept the offer and “cheaply” buy a hero around level 1,500, maybe for €15,000. Then he would have a profit of €235,000 and could still just keep playing.
But apparently, Bobeek remains faithful to his main.

The studio complains that first they were banned from Steam, and then YouTube deleted some videos.
It speaks of a “so-called owner of the rights” – that is the creator of a calendar app, which has nothing to do with the “Games” category.
When Fntastic announced the game in 2021, the man “wanted to take over the title” and registered the trademark rights before the team of “The Day Before”.
He has now made a “dubious” offer to talk to the developers.
From the team’s perspective, it seems that an individual wants to unlawfully profit from the game “The Day Before”.
Company behind calendar app: “We protect our rights
What does this person say? The site Eurogamer talked to the developer of the Korean calendar app. The company says:
The app has been available since 2010 under the name “The Day Before” and it operates worldwide. “The Day Before” has been downloaded over 40 million times.
The name has been registered in South Korea since 2015 – when they learned that a game with the same name was coming out, they decided to “take measures to protect the name rights”.
They now hold the name in South Korea, the USA, China, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, and the EU.
The developers of the app say:
We want to resolve the copyright dispute as quickly as possible and continue to protect the app, so that customers can use it without worrying.
It certainly looks like the “villain” that the studio has identified has very legitimate reasons to protect their ownership.
The “so-called owner” of the rights is perhaps simply the rightful owner of the rights. It’s hard to call it a “dubious offer” in this context.
What is the problem? The problem seems to be that copyright makes no differentiation between digital applications: a survival MMO on Steam and a calendar app both fall into the same category, IC 9.
So there is no “villain” trying to ruin the other. Rather, the app developer is simply protecting their rights to a product they have operated for 13 years.
The YouTuber ‘nicl83’ used an old DVD of Half Life 2 to install the latest version of Steam. In a video, he shows how he went about it.
The cult shooter Half-Life 2 was released on November 16, 2004, making it almost 19 years old now.
However, this did not stop YouTuber nicl 83 from digging up the old DVD version of the shooter and making an attempt: He set out to install the current version of the Steam client with it.

For the update, a few detours and a lot of patience are needed
A small note: The video was released on September 21, 2020, meaning the YouTuber wanted to install the then-current Steam version. At that time, support for Windows 7 had only been discontinued for 9 months, but Steam itself continues to support Windows 7.
How does the YouTuber proceed? nicl83 initially starts with Windows XP to install Steam from the Half-Life 2 DVD. The YouTuber states that he achieved the ‘best results’ with the Windows version.
He also gives the additional hint that one can simply skip the installation of the game itself.
After that, the Steam update starts and initially fails. However, nicl83 is not discouraged by that and continues. Several failures and restarts follow. Eventually, the YouTuber reaches a point where he still has a connection to Valve’s servers but cannot perform any further updates.
In the next step, nicl83 copies the incomplete installation into a virtual Windows 7 (VM), where the update finally works. Here, the YouTuber can actually update the Steam version to the latest version and log into his account.
How does the community react? Under the video, people mainly react nostalgically in the comments and remember the old user interfaces:

Who is Adin Ross? The 22-year-old has been one of the most successful streamers on Twitch worldwide in recent years. In 2021 alone, his channel grew by 4.76 million followers; no one grew faster:
The now 22-year-old has been on Twitch since 2014, but his career really took off in 2020. He reached an average of 5,000 viewers then. He showcased a lot of NBA 2k, played live for money, and wanted to improve the game under the hashtag ‘Make2kfunagain.’

Tarkov Chief Takes a Stand Against Cheaters
What does Nikita say about the cheater problem? He begins with an assessment and says that there are many people who think that the Escape from Tarkov team is not doing enough to drive cheaters out of the game.
That’s also the reason why he would write these lines. He wants to clarify how high the priority of the cheater problem is and what is being achieved:
1. They are taking care of it
Every day they are working to catch and ban cheaters. The cheater plagues often come in waves – that’s why there are phases in which more cheaters are active in the game.
2. Thousands of cheaters per day
Currently, they ban several thousand cheaters in a day. Many cheaters are caught quickly, playing only a little before they get caught.
3. Battleye Anti-Cheat
It’s a never-ending battle of updates – cheaters versus anti-cheat, who breaks through the other’s defense faster. Just in the week before the Reddit post, they updated the Battleye Anti-Cheat 4 times.

Moreover, the reporting system is constantly being developed further. Recently, they introduced a report when a cheater you reported gets kicked from the game.
In conclusion, Nikita makes it clear that they see the worries of the players and truly take them to heart. Finally, a small call to action: “Report all these bastards, we will make the game cleaner together”.
In a game like Escape from Tarkov, cheaters are particularly annoying. Compared to a Battle Royale like Warzone, you lose not only time but also equipment or quest items due to a cheated kill.
A 39-year-old person was arrested in the USA. He had set up a crypto mine in a school and caused several thousand euros in damage.

Welcome to the live ticker from MeinMMO for the global Hoenn Tour in Pokémon GO. Starting on Saturday, February 25, 2023, we will keep you updated here with current info about the event.
We will provide you with tips, news, and pointers about the Hoenn Tour throughout the entire event.
What’s in the Hoenn Tour? Basically, everything will revolve around catching the monsters of the third generation. You will encounter all monsters in their Shiny form – however, according to Niantic, only selected species have an improved Shiny chance. So don’t expect boosted Shiny rates for every Pokémon.
Over the two days, the monsters will spawn in “habitats”. Therefore, you won’t be able to meet all monsters at the same time. Hence, it is advisable to play both long-term or spread throughout the day.
Highlights of the event include the proto raids with Kyogre and Groudon, the new special research “Legend Chase”, and numerous spawns from the third generation. You can find a detailed overview of all features in the overview of the global Hoenn Tour.

Compared to other paid events or community days, however, the Hoenn Tour lacked an incentive. Especially on the second event day, I was mainly only engaged with the game on the side to do some raids and hatch my eggs. Therefore, there was clearly a missing bonus – or at least a focus on another area during the Sunday.
With the exception of the server issues, it was basically a successful event for me, with certain reservations. It could have been one of the best events if there had been a little extra effort.

In Pokémon GO took place the big Hoenn Tour this weekend. Now it is over and our MeinMMO author Franzi gives a rather mixed review of the event. What she particularly liked and what things were missing for her to make it the “best event,” she explains to you.
What event is it about? In Pokémon GO, the big Hoenn Tour took place this weekend – one of the highlights of the game. The 16-hour event is now over, and I feel rather mixed about it.
I have summarized the reasons for this below.
Almost one of the best events of the game
For me, the annual GO Tour is one of the events that I definitely don’t want to miss in Pokémon GO. Therefore, it was obvious that besides writing for MeinMMO, I would try to participate in the Hoenn Tour this weekend. And I have to say, the game mostly surprised me positively.
While I have spent money on the special event ticket in previous years to utilize all the content, this year it was not necessary. The event itself could essentially be played completely for free. Only the special research ‘Masterpiece Research: Fulfilled Wish’ for Jirachi had to be purchased if one wanted it.
For a free event, the Hoenn Tour was really strong and provided countless contents in my opinion. These highlights particularly convinced me:
Cool new raid bosses: For the first time, you could encounter Proto-Kyogre and Proto-Groudon, the strongest attackers of their type. But they weren’t that easy to beat, which made it a special challenge and thus ensured even more fun. They were my absolute favorite of the entire event.
Legendary Pokémon in the wild: With a bit of luck, depending on the chosen team, you could encounter Latias and Latios in the wild. These caused headaches for trainers, but could also be found as Shiny with a bit of luck.
Regional Pokémon:The regional Pokémon from the Hoenn region were also available. Especially on Shiny-Relicanth, I had my eye on. It was available in shiny form for the first time alongside Qurtel and Tropius and could hatch from 10 km eggs. Unfortunately, I haven’t been successful yet, but I still have five 10 km eggs left – fingers crossed!
Creative researches: With the Spooky Quests, Niantic opted for a different, mysterious design of field research through which players could secure ghost Pokémon. Additionally, many other researches were provided.
Shinys: Although there was no generally increased shiny rate for the Hoenn Tour, I was still able to enjoy one or the other shiny that I didn’t have in my collection yet. My absolute highlight was Shiny-Latias and Shiny-Groudon.
For this reason, the Hoenn Tour seems really successful at first glance – but somehow not. I missed 3 things to make it one of the best free events of the game. I have summarized what they are below.
1. Special event bonuses
Those who know Niantic’s paid events from previous years will know that besides the many contents that all players could secure this year, there were also one or two bonuses.
This was not the case this year – neither candy bonuses, nor additional XP, stardust, free raid passes or reduced hatch distances were granted to trainers. These are usually available during the monthly community days.
And exactly these bonuses were needed to offset a few barriers that dampened the fun:
Purchase of raid passes: To trigger the Protomorphosis on Kyogre and Groudon, you must collect corresponding amounts of Proto energy. And this was available almost exclusively in raids in a very limited quantity. The daily free raid passes were therefore not enough to secure enough energy. Thus, players were forced to spend their coins or money for passes.
Since the raids were also quite difficult, there weren’t often enough players on-site, especially in more rural areas, which is why players often had to resort to remote raids. Thus, I also spent a lot of money on remote raid passes.
Purchase of incubation machines: Similar additional costs could also arise with regional Pokémon. So, Relicanth, Qurtel and Tropius could only be found in the rare 10 km eggs. Those hoping for a shiny here had to get hold of one or another additional incubation machine.
Purchase of additional items: Besides raid passes and incubation machines, the event could also cost a lot of lures, incense, as well as revives and potions for the raids. Those who did not have these in sufficient quantities had to order supplies – as there was no bonus with, for example, extended duration for incense and lures.
2. Error-free gameplay
An even bigger problem in my view were the recurring server issues. I particularly had game crashes on the first event day while I was on the go or participating in raids. The game sometimes froze, requiring me to restart it completely. And according to reports from other trainers on social media, I wasn’t alone in this.
In my opinion, this should not happen in such a large and planned event. Niantic should have known in advance that the demand for the event would be particularly high at certain times. I expect the developers to provide enough server capacity to prevent crashes of this kind.
In past events over the last few years, it has gone significantly better. Niantic should definitely improve on this in the future.
3. Different focus on the second event day
I was most disappointed with the second day of the event. Although you could benefit from spawns for a total of 4 hours longer than last year’s Johto Tour, I expected more from it.
I was sure until the last minute that Niantic must have planned a big surprise here, with which no one would have expected that on this Sunday there would be a focus on another topic. But nothing happened. A lot could have been possible, such as:
Release of Mega-Rayquaza: One of the top surprises would certainly have been the release of Mega-Rayquaza, as the legendary Pokémon rushes in during the conflict between Kyogre and Groudon to end the turmoil and first triggers a mega evolution. This would have fit perfectly into the context of the game’s story.
Event attacks: Alternatively, Niantic could have also unlocked specific event attacks that could have been secured during evolving. This would have been a completely different incentive when catching wild monsters.

How do I create my own server in Minecraft? To set up your own free server, you first need to visit the official Minecraft page and download the latest “minecraft_server.1.XX.X.jar file” (via minecraft.net).
The X serves as a placeholder and represents the latest Java version of Minecraft. You need to ensure that you download the same version of the server file that your Minecraft is using.
Once you have downloaded the file, you only need to do the following:
Create a folder where you will store all your server files.
Now drag the downloaded .jar file into your folder.
Open the .jar file
When you do this, additional files will be downloaded to your folder.
Now open the eula.txt file
You must edit this file and change eula=false to eula=true and then save it
By making these changes, you agree to the EULA terms. Without this agreement, you cannot create your server.
Now open your .jar file again
