Former Rockstar developer Obbe Vermeij announced on November 11 via Twitter/X that he will publish a blog about his time at Rockstar Northwhere he worked on titles like GTA 3 and 4, Vice City, and San Andreas. Employees of Rockstar North who worked with Vermeij were not pleased about this, which led Vermeij to decide to delete the blog.
What happened? Obbe Vermeij worked at Rockstar North from 1995 to 2009 on several well-known titles such as GTA 3 and 4, Vice City, and San Andreas. During this time, he authored a blog where he shares funny anecdotes but also reveals some previously unknown details about the game GTA 3.
“I received an email from Rockstar North,” he states in his final post on November 22. Some of his colleagues in Edinburgh were not very pleased about his blog, which is why he decided to delete it. He doesn’t want to upset his colleagues in Edinburgh, it is later mentioned in a post by him on X.
What was the blog about? In his blog, he mainly reported on the development of the GTA titles he was involved in. He addressed topics such as how the weather works in the games, why there were many cars of the same types, and much more.
In some of his stories, he also mentions the names of his development colleagues. Even if they contained nothing embarrassing, this could of course be a reason why some of his colleagues were upset if he hadn’t asked for permission beforehand.

Why did Vermeij delete his blog? Many fans of the GTA series reacted on X (formerly Twitter) sadly and confused by the news of the blog’s deletion. Many who read it reported that the blog contained no negative experiences at Rockstar North. Additionally, Vermeij spoke very positively about his former colleagues.
“I thought they would be happy to read the blog,” he later said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He was surprised that the opposite was now the case.
However, he emphasizes that Rockstar New York was not involved and that no legal action had been taken against him due to his publication. He was also not forced to delete the blog, as some fans speculated on X. The blog was just not important enough for him to upset his colleagues in Edinburgh.
What’s next? In his final blog post, Vermeij expresses the wish that Rockstar itself talks openly about the development of the GTA trilogy, but he is sure that this will not happen in the near future.
“Maybe I’ll try again in one or two decades,” he jokes. Many fans are already expressing their wishes on Twitter, hoping that Vermeij will share about his time at Rockstar again.

The survival MMORPG Pioner has big ideas that were supposed to be playable in 2023. Now the studio behind the project announces a delay: Pioner is finally set to be released in 2024.
The survival game takes many cues from the popular STALKER series: you play on a Soviet island with secret research stations that you are supposed to explore. The biggest dangers are anomalies and mutants.
This is what makes Pioner special: The focus of the game is on the world and exploration. The island is cut off from the mainland, but there are several settlements and research stations that you can discover. Additionally, there are various zones that are more or less dangerous. In some zones, PvP is also supposed to be possible.
As in an RPG, there are quests and factions in Pioner that you can join. There are also clans, i.e., guilds, and particularly tough opponents in the harder areas – apparently something like bosses.
Survival aspects mainly include the crafting system, with which you can modify weapons, among other things. Otherwise, survival is likely to be heavily influenced by STALKER, where the main focus is on surviving against radiation and mutated enemies or avoiding certain areas.

New gameplay in 2023, release postponed to 2024
Since the announcement in 2020, it has been quite quiet around Pioner. There have not been any public tests or betas so far, at least not for the masses. Development seems to have taken a bit longer, especially since there was only one major update on the game in 2023.
However, the studio has created a showcase website since the announcement, with a lot of information about the game. At least there are still signs of life; such a project for an indie team takes time.
The latest news from the developers states that the game will be released at the earliest in 2024. There is no date or more precise timeframe, so any time could be possible. Looking at the past and other projects, we assume rather autumn or winter; it will likely take a while until a 1.0 release.
The hype around Pioner is also still manageable, likely because there is little information and advertising about it. It is different with The Day Before, a competitor that is supposed to be released soon – which many do not believe:
On December 7, Throne and Liberty will be launched in Korea. The game has now released the character editor and initial players can create their desired avatars. Unfortunately, this does not apply to international players.
What does the character editor look like? The character editor is already available in English or with English subtitles for the upcoming release in South Korea. At the beginning, you choose your server and the intro cutscene plays.
To build your character, you first decide on a female or male avatar. Before you get into the details, you choose a character base from a variety of presets that you like.
Once you have chosen a preset, you can customize your character in detail. Throne and Liberty relies heavily on sliders, allowing for a high degree of individuality. During a fight, the tank Nate (also “Immonate”) suddenly realizes that his game has disconnected from the server. A bit surprised, he informs his teammates:
“The seed [a boss ability] has exploded and my game has crashed.”
But as soon as Immonate expressed this, the character selection already reveals to him what the true reason for the disconnect was. Because behind his characters, it says “Inactive” and the game suggests that he should subscribe.
Clearly a bit embarrassed, he informs his guild about it and receives laughter from several teammates.

So severe will the 5-fold nerf be
Here’s why Titans are currently shocked: With the information about the upcoming patch, changes for all classes were introduced. But especially for the Guardians with a Titan, it quickly became clear that they would be particularly hard hit by a 5-fold nerf.
For the Solar Titan, the cooldown of the small “Bonk” hammer, the healing-based Solar Verb “Restoration”, Sunspots, the armor exotic “Synthoceps”, and frequently used mods are being nerfed. The last of which affects all three classes.
You will no longer immediately get your melee energy back when picking up the small solar throwing hammer, but only after 1.4 seconds. This will probably still be S-Tier, but not quite so overpowering.
For the Sunspots, the maximum duration is reduced from 20 to 12 seconds.
The exotic “Synthoceps” no longer has extended melee fall-off distance, and the PvE bonus for surrounded melee damage is reduced from 200% to +165%. In exchange, there is now 100% more melee bonus on glaives instead of 50%.
In the mods, “Heavy-handed”, “Firepower”, and “Reaper” will be adjusted starting Season 23. They will have a cooldown of 10 seconds for generating an orb of power, thereby reducing the number of generated orbs as well.
But also the reimbursement of energy for the Kickstart bonuses, as well as “Momentum Transfer”, “Detonation Boost”, “Impact Induction”, “Focus Attack”, “Range”, “Distribution”, and “Bomber” have been reduced by Bungie.
Why is this being adjusted? Bungie believes that these changes will help restore meaningful choices, both in ability use and armor loadout systems, while also giving each armor mod the opportunity to achieve a valuable effect.
Swinging the small hammer will soon take longer
No more sliding, shooting, killing
The new motto is “Go Slow!”: The era of fast melee attacks in PvP is also coming to an end, which has long been the preferred way to take down opponents primarily by the Titans. First slide, then fire the weapon, and also perform a shoulder attack or a slide melee.
In the future, this kill method will be associated with significant risks and cooldowns.
Starting from the “Season of Wishes”, firing your weapon while sliding will prevent the activation of sprint or glide-activated melees.
Why is this attack being adjusted? The reason for the adjustment is, according to Bungie, that such quick kills are extremely hard for other Guardians to recognize and understand.
However, the arc aspect “Stormstrike” will receive slight improvements in the upcoming update. This includes an increase in base damage, more accurate tracking at longer distances, and improved accuracy.
“They really want us to suffer!”
Soon every Guardian will have to think about creating a good build.
It’s always about balance: Guardians have become increasingly stronger in recent seasons. This has led to hardly anything feeling challenging anymore.
For Bungie, it has thus become increasingly difficult to apply pressure in combat on players with optimal builds. However, Destiny 2 should feel fair for all target groups, including those who may not use builds. At the same time, well-tuned difficulty levels for top-equipped players should be available.
In short: the survivability of Guardians at the top end is too high, and that’s why in Season 23, your survivability is at risk. This includes the “Woven Armor”, “Restoration”, “Devour” as well as the “Banner of War”.
Woven Armor: Damage resistance with Strang against PvE fighters is reduced from 55% to 45%.
Restoration: Now only grants a reduced healing rate for solar abilities.
Level x1 = 35 HP/s in PvE and 17.5 HP/s in PvP
Level x2 = 50 HP/s in PvE and 25 HP/s in PvP
Devour: The healing amount for Void, both upon activation and refreshing, will be reduced from full healing. Unless “Feeding the Void” is equipped.
Only a minor change: While some Guardians already see their life massively dwindling here, we assume that these changes will not have significant effects. To achieve a noticeable effect in the game, one would have had to halve the reimbursement. Additionally, Bungie explicitly mentioned that this is only “a small change”.
Furthermore, the currently most popular Strang aspect “Banner of War” is also being adjusted.

Here’s how the Strang aspect “Banner of War” will change:
The number of enemy kills required to level up the banner will be increased by about double.
To slightly offset this disadvantage, the duration at each level of the banner will be correspondingly increased. This varies according to the type of defeated target.
You will definitely feel these changes in the game. It will make it more difficult for you to achieve maximum healing with the Titan’s War Banner aspect in the future.
Bubble and Well nerfs are in planning
The question remains what Bungie plans to do with the two best options for healing and protection in Destiny 2, the healing “Well of Radiance” of the Warlocks and the protective Titan bubble “Dawnshield”.
In the “Season of Wishes”, Bungie will increase the base cooldowns of these two Supers from 417 seconds to 455 seconds to ensure they have stronger competition in round-based modes.
So far, the cooldown nerf is targeting PvP and does nothing in PvE. But Bungie also wants to fundamentally reassess the place of these two options in PvE in the future.
Nerfs for the “Well of Radiance” and “Dawnshield” are also expected.
Why does Bungie want to adjust these options? In particular, the “Well of Radiance” offers too much according to the developer. Its effective invulnerability is not something that the sandbox can or should continue to support.
The Content Creator Saltagreppo also believes that Bungie must take even stronger action with these two ultis because otherwise nothing will change. He thinks a damage reduction of an average of 10% like with “Woven Armor” is not needed.
So enjoy the protection for a while longer until more changes come in Season 23, which will also adjust the dominance in PvE.
And what about Stasis? For the coolest of all abilities, expectations have lagged somewhat. Bungie did mention changes, but the big “wow!” was not there yet.
There will be some tuning changes for your Stasis abilities, focusing primarily on stat bonuses and penalties.
Stasis now finally has a verb, which Bungie is temporarily calling “Frost Armor”. This is intended to increase survivability.
Stasis grenades will be improved, such as the cooldown of the Glacier Grenade being reduced from 152 seconds to 121 seconds or that the Cold Snap Grenade can better track targets.
Weapons with special ammo will also receive a stronger damage bonus of 5% to 10% against frozen targets, aiming to make smashing enemies more consistent.
Excitement sounds different: The community immediately reacted with over 1500 comments on the Destiny subreddit to these announcements and many players expressed their dissatisfaction with the perceived overcorrection.
Some even describe the changes as ridiculous and argue that the popularity of the Titan class does not mean they are too strong, but that they are enjoyed by many players. Others hinted that Bungie will certainly not win back players with these adjustments.
The player Savenura55 comments that Titans be made too weak: “Titans have already been significantly weakened in 3/4 of the last adjustments, making them unplayable outside of ‘Banner of War’. I don’t understand why Bungie thinks this is the right way given the poor state of the game. Maybe they haven’t actually fired the people who were the problem, as they claimed.”
wandering_caribou on the other hand sees another Strang season coming with regard to the new artifact: “The first impression for the Titan in PvE is that with the Solar Hammer nerfs, I will rather play the ‘Banner of War’ more than less. [The nerf] won’t really significantly impact it and the Stasis changes won’t make much difference.
The content creator and 4-time world’s first winner Saltagreppo comments: “This was one of the best editions of ‘This Week in Destiny’ in a long time. [Bungie] actually addressed many balance issues, and most of the changes were well thought out and justified. Of course, not everything is perfect yet, but overall very positive steps.”
Also, the Destiny editorial team at MeinMMO believes that the changes are actually solid and fair. On paper, this may feel bad to some players, but without trying them out, it’s hard to say whether these changes are truly exaggerated or not. These new cooldowns with dynamic regeneration could still be intuitively enough.
When can you test the changes? Starting November 28, you can play the new Season 23. And from then on, most of these changes will go live in the game, so you can try them out and evaluate them.
While Bungie emphasizes that this is the first step in a long-term process to improve balance in the game, the community’s reaction will show whether these changes have the desired effect or whether further adjustments are necessary.

In January 2024, the latest installment of a popular fighting game series will be released. In Tekken 8, not only new characters will join the fight but also some familiar faces will find their way onto the battlefield. You can see an old character in the current trailer.
What is it about? A returning character for Tekken 8 has been introduced in a new trailer. Leo Kliesen has been a fighter since the sixth installment of the series and is now also presented in beautiful graphics.
Tekken 8 will be released on January 26, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox.

What does the trailer show? Before the trailer really kicks off and shows some gameplay and fighting style, it starts with an announcement from Leo himself: ‘Are you ready? Then let’s go!’
Since the character himself is of German descent, the developers also made sure that Leo speaks German. Voice actor Philipp Zieschang provided the voice for that.
As the trailer shows, Leo moves quickly and skillfully across the battlefield, striking with powerful punches and mighty kicks.
This leaves opponents with little time to strike back during the quick transitions between hand and footwork.
Finally, the trailer shows a quite impressive finisher move, where Leo swings over the opponents with a hook, then kicks them hard in the face with enough momentum.

Many fans seem genuinely excited about the new installment. User HuntShowdownLab writes that although he has been away from Tekken for a long time, every new trailer for the eighth installment makes the game look more interesting.

League of Legends has released a preview of the changes for the upcoming season and patch 14.1. There is a huge list of items that will be removed, changed, or added. One item will likely make all those who do not play assassins cheer.
This is the item in question:
The Duskblade of Draktharr (often just called: “Duskblade”) is a mythic item for assassins based on attack damage.
It provides attack damage and lethality, making it the ideal weapon against soft targets from the backline. Its special feature “Nightstalker” makes the owner untargetable for 1.5 seconds after a takedown.
Here is the replacement: As a new item with identical stats and the same components from which it is built, Riot has now introduced Hubris. This item comes with a new ability that sounds as if it was made just for the players’ egos. It is even called “Ego.”
If you kill a champion, a statue of you will be erected. As the second part of the item ability, you receive additional attack damage when a champion dies after you have dealt damage to them:
For 1 minute, the blade grants you +10 AD and +1 AD for each statue that has been erected by you. This makes Hubris a powerful item for players who farm many kills, but far less annoying than the Duskblade.

LoL wants to “de-mythify” its item pool, once again changing the jungle
Alongside the Duskblade, the Claw of the Reaper is also being removed from assassins. Items are also being removed for other roles. This mainly affects mythic items that will either completely disappear or be introduced in a new version.

1. Insufficient planning and incorrect assembly
Why is good planning so important? Without a concrete idea of what the new gaming computer may cost at most, it will be very difficult for you to determine a final configuration. With a fixed budget and a specific use case (Are my games graphically demanding? What monitor resolution do I play with?), you set a conscious limit.
Many online shops for hardware offer a configurator that supports you in the assembly. Often, you are led to a standard configuration that you can adjust as you wish. The tool in the shop ideally shows you only compatible components that fit with the rest of the system.

2. Ignoring dimensions
What else should be considered besides price and use case? In addition to the points mentioned, the size of the individual components also plays a role. With a good case that offers enough space, you can avoid incompatibilities during assembly.

Many manufacturers provide precise measurements of their products on their product pages. This way, you can avoid a situation where the graphics card does not fit in the case due to its size. A step further is PCPartPicker.com. If you have entered all the data for your desired system correctly, the site checks whether everything is compatible with each other.
3. No space and missing tools
Why should the workspace and tool equipment not be neglected? When assembling your gaming PC, you need a lot of space. Since you cannot immediately install all components in the case, you need enough free space around you. Too little space or a cluttered desk prevent you from arranging the hardware sensibly for installation.
If you have started assembling and realize halfway through that, for example, you are missing a suitable screwdriver, it will cost you nerves and time. You will have to pause the construction or, even worse, stop because you cannot continue without the right tools. So check in advance that you have everything you need in front of you so that you can work without major interruptions.
4. Not following a sensible order during installation
Why is the order of assembly important? If you just start building without a plan, you will sooner or later run into problems. Either you will make it more difficult to install individual components, e.g., the mounting of the processor on the motherboard. Or you simply will not be able to install a specific piece of hardware because another part is in the way.
Ideally, you should start by equipping the motherboard while it is not installed. Place the processor and the memory on the board. If you own an M2.SSD, insert it into the corresponding slot on the motherboard next. Finally, you mount the CPU cooler on the processor. For most models, the fan is attached to the cooler in the very last step.
What should be considered with the case? The second section in a sensible sequence relates to the case. Move all cables aside in the case so that you have enough room for installing the components. Now, insert the power supply and secure it. Here, especially modular power supplies are advantageous. With this type of power supply, you only need to connect the power cables that you actually need.
Provided you have purchased additional case fans, now would be the right time to place them in the case. Pay attention to the correct installation direction. Arrows on the fan frame indicate in which direction the air will be moved. For effective airflow in the case, the fans in the front should draw in air and blow it out at the back or top of the case.
Once these tasks are completed, you can install and secure the motherboard. Pay attention to the wiring to work as cleanly as possible so that cables do not accidentally get caught in the fans.
Once this step is complete, the graphics card can be installed and wired. At this point, you are basically done with the assembly and can put the system through its first functionality test.
5. Ignoring the manual and hasty procedures
Why shouldn’t you ignore the included manuals? Even if you think you are doing everything right, it is advisable to check the manuals of the components just to be safe. Especially with the motherboard, the various slots for hardware and cables can vary greatly depending on the model and be placed in different locations.
Sometimes this information is included in the form of a CD. In other cases, you may need to download the document from the respective manufacturer’s website. If you have plugged a cable incorrectly during assembly, a manual will also help you to discover the error more quickly. Typically, the memory modules also need to be inserted into the motherboard in the correct sequence to avoid performance losses.

Lethal Company has only been playable in Early Access for four weeks and is already in 3rd place among the bestsellers on Steam. Only the Steam Deck and Counter Strike 2 can defend their place at the top against the new co-op horror.
Lethal Company meets the current taste of many players
Lethal Company seems to have succeeded in hitting the taste of many players, securing this rise. As a cooperative horror game with a rather old-fashioned VHS graphic style, it draws on many trends that have repeatedly excited the gaming scene for several years.
In the Steam reviews, players also praise the quite good voice chat in the game. This is said to highlight the horror aspect of the game well: For example, when the voice of your colleagues suddenly becomes quieter and abruptly cuts off in a dark area.
Whether the success has surprised the indie developers or not, they promise more content for the future, such as new creatures, maps, or items.
The Early Access is set to run for another six months.
