Destiny 2 has received its final expansion and a successor is currently not in development. The story of the loot shooter will therefore not continue for the time being. But how does the story end for the various characters we have met over the years? Here you will find out!
With Monument of Triumph, Destiny 2 comes to an end. While Zavala and Ikora Rey received an emotional cutscene, most characters exited without further mention. Therefore, we look at the fates of the main figures and what became of them.
Credits go to the English-speaking colleagues from GameSpot, who inspired us with a similar article. However, since we were missing certain characters or information, we decided to create our own version.
Spoiler warning: During this text, we refer to the story standpoint during the final expansion Monuments of Triumph. If you have not played this or the previous expansions, you may encounter spoilers here.
Zavala
After Zavala lost his Ghost “Targe” during The Final Shape, the longtime Commander of the Vanguard can no longer be resurrected if he dies. If he dies again, he stays dead.
With the final expansion “Monuments of Triumph” Zavala therefore resigns from his position as Commander of the Vanguard. In a final cutscene with the Guardian and Ikora Rey, he reflects on many misfortunes like the loss of Targe and names Ikora as his successor.
