Your Ghost, the Ghost of the Guardian, was destroyed in the final fight with the Witness in The Final Shape, causing it to briefly lose its connection to the Light and the ability to resurrect. However, the Cayde-6 who returned through manifested light sacrificed himself and transferred all his light to the broken shell of the Ghost, thereby reviving it and remaining at the Guardian’s side.
