Cayde-6 was murdered by the corrupted prince Uldren Sov in the Forsaken expansion. Years later, he returned in the expansion The Final Shape through a deep desire of the redeemed Uldren – now the Guardian Crow – and the shaping power of the Traveler in the Bleached Heart as a manifestation of pure light.
In this unexpected second chance, he helped the Vanguard unite for the final battle and finally forgave Crow for his previous act. However, after the final victory over the Witness, the battle took a devastating toll as our Guardian’s Ghost completely burned out and died. Without hesitation, Cayde transferred his own light into the broken shell to revive the Ghost.
Through this ultimate sacrifice, he saved our loyal companion, but dissipated in the process and permanently bid farewell to the universe.
