In Destiny 2 you can unlock hidden endings since “Monument of Triumph.” On MeinMMO you can find out what you need to do.
What are these endings? With the final update “Monument of Triumph,” Destiny 2 received a kind of “conclusion.” Two endings show how things progress for one of the most important characters in the Destiny universe and hint at where the Guardian’s journey would have developed in the future.
However, these cutscenes are somewhat hidden and will not be prominently displayed to you at the start of the update as a main quest or similar – you could easily miss them.
Spoiler: At the end of the article, we will briefly summarize the two endings in case you do not want to experience them yourself. This summary will be in a so-called “spoiler box,” which you will need to expand to read so no one accidentally gets spoiled.
Destiny 2: Unlock hidden endings – Here’s how
To unlock the two final endings of Destiny 2, you must complete four steps. The first step is the most elaborate and requires the most playtime.
First: Complete 7 subcategories of Triumphs
In the first step to unlocking the cutscenes, you need to complete seven random subcategories of Triumphs that were added to the game with the update “Monument of Triumph.” You can find these in the Journey menu under Triumphs -> Monument of Triumph.
Second: Travel to the Tower and speak with Zavala
Once you have completed 7 subcategories of Triumphs, you must travel to the Tower where you can visit Zavala. This will then trigger the first cutscene of the ending of Destiny 2.
Third: Claim the Triumph “You and I, Big Blue”
After the cutscene with Zavala, you can claim a Triumph called “You and I, Big Blue” under “Stories” in the “Allies” category. You also need to do this to unlock the second final cutscene, including the cliffhanger.
Fourth: Travel to the Dark Forest (EDZ)
After you have collected the Triumph “Big Blue,” you need to travel to the “Mysterious Forest” in the European Dead Zone. There you will find a new portal that takes you to the normally inaccessible fragment of the Traveler. This is where the second, final ending, including the cliffhanger, will take place.

Summary of the two endings of Destiny 2
In the first ending, a cutscene starts where Zavala reflects on his long journey and informs us that he will be retiring. He hands over the title of Vanguard Commander to Ikora Rey.
In the second ending, an unknown voice speaks to us through Lodi. It advises that we should rest, enjoy the victory over the Witness, and recharge. Then it says we should also “stay hungry” and claims that the Nine only need the Guardians because this unknown voice exists. The voice announces an inevitable, gigantic conflict and ends the scene with the words: “Don’t worry. When it’s over, I won’t leave you behind.”
Destiny 2 thus ends with a cliffhanger, and since Destiny 3 is currently not in development, this cliffhanger may never be resolved.
