The new MMORPG from NCSoft offers a comprehensive theme park full of content, complex systems, and the typical peculiarities of Asian genre representatives. This can be quite overwhelming and confusing at times.
To help you easily navigate potential frustration points in Atreia and instead enjoy as much fun as possible, we summarize various useful tips that have emerged from experiences with the Taiwanese version as well as from playtests. Aion 2: Factions and Guilds – Important Notice!
There is already a dedicated guide on the important faction choice in Aion 2 on MeinMMO. Keep in mind that you cannot change your faction later. Your choice determines which players you encounter, which side you play on in PvP, and through which regions you level up. It also determines your character’s appearance and faction-specific skill effects.
Also important for the start: Join a guild as early as possible. Not only does it provide you with potential teammates, but it also offers passive buffs, bonuses, and a weekly distribution of guild coins, which you can invest in upgrade materials.
Aion 2: Tips for Important Options and the User Interface
Here we have gathered some tips and hints regarding important options and customization possibilities of the UI for you:
- To avoid annoying white flashes when teleporting, change the “Teleport Effect Color” setting from “Light” to “Dark”. Additionally, you can disable the option “Show World Map Transition Effects” to make the animation when opening the map more pleasant.
- Buff food and scrolls do not activate on their own. Therefore, go to the “Combat” menu and activate “Autouse”. Then drag the desired items into the corresponding slots in the interface while holding down the left mouse button.
- The entire interface (chat size, frames) can be freely moved, resized, and even exported and imported as a template. Use this to ensure that you have a clear view of the action during combat while still seeing the most important overlays in the center.
- The auto-run function is not only a convenient tool but also a powerful one. While you walk to the next quest objective with a single button press, you can, for example, browse through the many menus of Aion 2.
- WARNING: There is also an auto-function for flying. However, you will only stay in the air as long as you have stamina. If your character consumes all its stamina, the auto-flying will stop, and you will fall. In the worst case, you may suffer fatal fall damage. So keep an eye on your hero while auto-flying.
Aion 2: Tips for Combat and Skills
- Combat in Aion 2 requires the combination of skills, cooldown management, and proper positioning (e.g., standing behind the opponent for more damage).
- At the beginning, prioritize your normal attacks (left and right mouse button) and level them up as high as possible, as you will use them constantly.
- Through the key settings menu, you can define macros (e.g., for the right mouse button). Your skills are stacked in the macro menu as a “tower” and are processed from the bottom up. This way, you can easily unleash long combos while pressing only one key.
- You can level your mastery skills and improve them with additional effects. Up to 3 effect slots can be unlocked. However, only when you manually drag your desired effects into the free slots in the skill menu do you activate them. Many players from the Korean version were unaware of this and often reached max level without the improvements from Atreia.
- Buff food and scrolls only last 5 minutes. Therefore, do not waste them at the beginning of the dungeon but activate them before boss fights or similarly tough challenges.
- Aion 2 encourages experimenting with skills, talents, and macros, allowing you to easily reset and swap them out. Only from level 31 does respec cost some Kinah, but the costs remain manageable.
Aion 2: Tips for the Leveling Phase
Also for leveling to max level 45, you will already find a dedicated guide on MeinMMO. Here are the most important basic tips:
- The quests from the main campaign provide you with the most experience points. All alternatives are worse in terms of pure XP.
- However, you cannot reach level 45 only with the main quests. Fill gaps with side quests, sealed dungeons, and strongholds. This way, you will also receive important equipment upgrades and progress in the Daevanion talent system.
- If quests bring you near feathers or regional quests, take these along while leveling. Otherwise, you will have to painstakingly catch up later.
- By the end of the leveling phase, you should aim for an item level of 1,000 (more on this in the next section), as only with this value or higher can you complete the story and dive into the first endgame dungeons, Krao Cave and Draupnir.
- Do not participate in the Shugo Festival during the leveling phase! The rewards depend on your level, and you must invest Shugo Festival Reward Keys for the rewards. Save this for the endgame.
Aion 2: Tips for Equipment, Currencies, and Upgrades
The character progression in Aion 2 is closely related to your equipment and the upgrades of your clothing. However, there are also some of the nastiest traps awaiting you.
- Aion 2 distinguishes between your combat power (CP) and your item level. Many contents require a minimum item level for your character, and this value results from your current gear. CP reflects your actual combat power, as it includes further factors such as progress in the Daevanion talent system, unlocks in the Pantheon, or your collection of Arcana cards.
- Upgrade your equipment during the leveling phase only if you are stuck somewhere. While extraction returns the invested materials, it does not return your paid Kinah. This also applies in the endgame when you are wearing gear that you want to replace soon.
- Since upgrades become increasingly expensive and the chance of failures rises with levels, it is always better to upgrade several items by one level each than to upgrade one piece of equipment by multiple levels.
- The only exception to this rule: The upgrades for your belt and your Revelation Amulet are always worth it, as you will not replace these after their maximum upgrades – and they have a noticeable impact on your character’s strength.
- Always extract old equipment. You will need the green and blue upgrade fragments in large quantities.
- WARNING: Before automated extraction, check your settings and filters. If you accidentally destroy a very valuable or powerful equipment piece, you will not get it back.
- By the way, you can also set a loot filter that defines what your pet picks up and leaves behind. This way, you can prevent gray junk from cluttering your storage.
- The Season Pass (Daeva Pass) is a useful source for equipment and resources. Interesting for frequent players: The pass can be purchased with the in-game currency, Kinah.

Aion 2: Tips for the Endgame
Finally, we have some initial tips and tricks for you that revolve around your gaming experience at level 45. An overview of the PvE and PvP content of Aion 2 can be found here.
- Many contents of Aion 2 are only available in limited form or temporarily. The good news: Often, you have a whole week to play the most important endgame challenges before the associated ID expires or you waste tickets. A preliminary overview of the content restrictions can be found here.
- Even PvP haters should pay a visit to the Abyss in the endgame from time to time. There, you can earn Abyss points by defeating PvE monsters, which are best for reaching item level 1,700. You can find more tips for efficient equipment advancement in this guide.
- Only attempt the easy version of the Ascension Trial in the Forgotten Repository (item level 1,000) when the ID change is imminent and you will not make it to item level 1,500 for the next difficulty level in time. If there is still enough time until the next weekly reset, play the normal difficulty. It rewards significantly more, yet is still relatively easy.
- From level 45 on, so-called “Spacetime Rifts” appear in the open world every 3 hours, through which you can invade the enemy faction’s territory for an hour. This is not just for PvP fans.
