You can get a single, really strong item in World of Warcraft already this week. We show you how to do it.
Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek has been live for a day. In the first week, you have more or less comfortably time to look at the story, enjoy the quests, and maybe complete a handful of tasks to get ready for the real action next week.
But those who want to get the most out of their character can grab a heroic item with a nice item level of 305 this week. We’ll show you how to do this.
305 loot for visiting a depth with treasure map
What do you need to complete? To get the strong item, you need to play through the main campaign of Patch 12.1 on the Twisted Island, going as far as to unlock the area beneath the island, the Vault of Atal’Utek. There you will quickly receive two larger tasks. One is part of the campaign and requires you to complete several smaller tasks. The other is weekly and wants you to complete a certain percentage of different missions – it can simply be the killing of enemies, but you can also sprinkle in small area events.
Both quests grant a treasure map, “Reward of the Treasure Hunter,” upon completion (but only the first of the two quests). This treasure map ensures that at the end of a depth of level 4 or higher you receive an additional chest that contains a strong item – regardless of whether you visit a rich depth or a normal one.
Note, however, that you should visit some depths beforehand and not redeem the treasure map there! Because at the beginning, you can only complete depths of level 4 and need to work your way up to level 8 (or higher). Once your next depth is level 8 or higher, you can use the card to receive an additional treasure chest with a heroic item (item level 305) at the end. If you have already used the card earlier, the item level of the reward will be appropriately lower.
Is there any other loot at that level? No. The treasure map is currently the only way to grab a heroic item right now, and that is not expected to change until next week, with the official start of Season 2. So take this opportunity to gain a small advantage and then really kick off in Season 2.
Not all guilds can really kick off in Season 2 some guilds, which were banned shortly before the launch of Patch 12.1 – even while they were raiding themselves.
