NCSoft and ArenaNet have not yet released much information about Guild Wars 3. However, we summarize all the known information here.
Key Information at a Glance:
- Guild Wars 3 is currently in active development and does not yet have a release date, but there is a window in which the first beta is supposed to start: Fall 2027
- For the first time, the series will step away from its PC exclusivity, as the MMORPG will also be released for PS5. All Xbox fans will probably be left out and will not be considered.
- The developers remain true to the monetization of the predecessors. The MMORPG is expected to forgo battle passes and subscriptions and will monetize through sales and the in-game shop.
- The combat system and movement are supposed to be smoother and more modern.
- The story is set 1,200 years before Guild Wars 1 to usher in a new era and highlight parts of the story that could not be addressed in the two sequels.

Guild Wars 3: Release, Beta & Platforms
When is Guild Wars 3 releasing? That cannot be said exactly yet. The development is currently still ongoing, and a release is not expected before the end of 2027 or during 2028.
Will there be a beta? Yes, there will be a beta.
When is the beta planned? The beta for Guild Wars 3 is supposed to take place in Fall 2027, but a specific date is still pending. Both platforms should benefit from this.

Additionally, it wouldn’t hurt to add the game to your wishlist on Steam or in the PlayStation Store – so you won’t miss any important news about it.
Which platforms will receive Guild Wars 3? The upcoming MMORPG is currently planned only for PC, Steam, and PS5. Xbox, at least according to current information, will initially be left out.
