How will the MMORPG be monetized? There is good news regarding this. The studio aims to stay true to its previous strategy. Guild Wars 3 will, like its predecessors, fully rely on Buy-to-Play – there will be no mandatory subscription model, like in World of Warcraft. You will pay once for the game and any future expansions, and then you can log in whenever you like.
Besides that, there is also a clear “No” from the developers regarding Battle Passes. However, cosmetic items will be offered in a shop at “fair” prices. How the shop will look at release and whether we will get a glimpse of it during the beta is still unknown.
In Guild Wars 3, the small Asura also return as a playable race – though quite differently than before.
