When will GTA 6 Online be released?
So far, there is no concrete release date for the online multiplayer of GTA 6. However, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy made a hint to Bloomberg that makes a release in 2027 likely. However, this is not secured.
If we compare the release of GTA 6 with the release of GTA 5, the online mode came about two weeks after the release of the main game. Whether that will be the case again is currently unclear, but not impossible either. It is also conceivable that it will be released together with the PC version, which also has no release time frame yet.
Will GTA 6 Online be a separate mode?
Unfortunately, there is still no information on this. So it is unclear whether GTA 6 Online will be playable separately from the main game or will be integrated into the main game.
Will GTA 6 Online cost extra?
There is currently no clear information on this. Assuming it will be similar to GTA 5, the mode will be part of the main game and there will be no additional costs. However, it may also be possible that GTA 6 Online becomes a standalone mode that you can buy or even have to buy additionally. A subscription or microtransactions cannot be ruled out at this time either.
On the PS5, for example, you need an active PS Plus subscription to play online. This would also apply to GTA 6 Online.
Will GTA 6 Online differ significantly from GTA 5 Online?
This is still unclear. Since there is unfortunately little information about the planned multiplayer of GTA 6, it cannot be said whether there will be major differences.
It is highly likely that GTA 6 Online will no longer take place in Los Santos.
Will GTA 5 Online then be shut down?
In an interview with IGN, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted that GTA 5 Online will continue to receive updates for as long as player interest remains. It is therefore likely that both modes will continue to run in parallel for at least a while.
Will GTA 6 Online have crossplay?
The short answer: Maybe. It is not unlikely. Although the predecessor GTA 5 Online does not offer crossplay between the available platforms, the game is also about 13 years old and the technological situation is significantly different. However, there is still no concrete information on this.
