On an ancient Legion world in World of Warcraft a cool lightsaber awaits. You can unlock it in just a few minutes.
Patch 12.0.7 has been active for just over a week. This week, all players were able to explore the world “Val” for the first time, which can be accessed through the Netherstorm. In addition to a host of new quests and tasks, there are also many smaller and larger secrets. One of these is a very special sword that should not be missing from any transmog collection – because it resembles a frosty lightsaber.
We will show you how to obtain the Ice Guardian’s Sleetblade.
What kind of sword is this? The Ice Guardian’s Sleetblade is basically just a sword handle, along with a bluish, wavering light beam – so almost a lightsaber. Such weapons already exist in World of Warcraft, but this design is entirely new.
Unlock Frost Lightsaber from Val – Here’s how
How do you unlock the sword? The team at wowhead has reported on how to get the sword. Follow these steps, and you will unlock the sword in just a few minutes:
- Travel to the Netherstorm and take the portal to Val from there. Make sure you have activated Val’s heroic world.
- Go to coordinates 62 / 79. There you will find a cave that you can enter.
- At the end of the cave is a large ice block from which a sword handle is protruding. Click on the sword handle and select the dialogue option.
- Now you have a buff for 30 minutes, during which you must defeat rare enemies or the world boss Emperor Pertinax. You need to defeat at least 2 of these enemies. They appear at regular intervals and are announced on the map with a star symbol.
- Once you have 2 stacks of the buff, return to the sword. Now you can pull it out of the ice block.
Note that you must not die during the process, as the buffs will otherwise expire. In this case, you will have to start from the beginning.

When can you obtain the sword? Basically, every 2 weeks, whenever the world “Val” is active – which is currently still until Tuesday, June 30. After that, there will be a week of “Naigtal” as an area before “Val” opens again on Wednesday, July 8. So plan your time accordingly when you want to obtain this cool blade.
By the way, Val and Naigtal are not only suitable for collecting cool transmogrifications, like this lightsaber, but they also have other benefits. In both worlds, you can level characters faster than ever before and level from 80 to 90 in about 3 hours.
