Characters in World of Warcraft have been moving oddly recently. The culprit is a bug that slows down the turning speed.
The Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek has introduced a curious bug in World of Warcraft. The turning movement of characters is often painfully slow when trying to change direction using the A or D keys. This is triggered by a bug, but you can easily fix it. You just need to save a single macro to avoid the problem for a while.
What kind of bug is this? If you control your character not only with the mouse but also belong to the species of “Keyboard Turners”, you may have noticed it in recent days. When switching characters, the second character feels somehow sluggish and turns more slowly. The A and D keys seem to have less effect, and turning takes longer.
How do you fix the bug? There are several ways to fix the bug. First, a simple “relog” helps – just log out and log back in with the same character.
The second option requires a bit of preparation, but afterwards, it’s just a small click that you need to make.
Create a macro by typing /m in the chat. Create a macro for your entire account (not character-specific), give it a fitting icon, and copy this text into the command window:
/run SetCVar("turnspeed", 0)
Then save the macro, drag it to your action bar, and use it every time after logging in when the bug has reappeared.
If you want, you can also try a different number. The “0” resets the value to the default, which should be around 180. The maximum is 999, but then your character will turn extremely fast.
It is probably only a matter of time before Blizzard fixes this bug, even if it may not be a top priority. After all, there were a whole bunch of other bugs and issues in Patch 12.1 that made the update nearly unplayable at the beginning.
