1. Mordekaiser – The Iron Nightmare
Mordekaiser wanted to take a place at the table of gods in the glorious Hall of Bones after his death as a mortal. Instead, a dark empty wasteland, shrouded in ethereal mists, welcomed him.
He learned the language of the dead and whispered through the veil of worlds to the living to grant them unyielding strength when they resurrect him. Some wizards accepted the offer, hoping for a powerful weapon to end their war.
From Mordekaiser’s mortal remains, there was little flesh and bone left, so he urged the wizards to bind his ghostly form to a dark metal armor. Instead of helping them win the war, he killed the wizards and forged the mace “Nightmare” from their fearful souls.
After entire generations had perished during his ruthless campaigns, Mordekaiser was lured into a trap by a plot from within his ranks. His soul could be separated from the armor, and Mordekaiser was banished from the material world.
The banishment was part of his plan, and in the formerly empty wasteland, the souls who perished under Mordekaiser’s rule awaited. For centuries, Mordekaiser has been in the realm of the dead, shaping his afterlife from the souls of former followers and enemies.
Scholars and witnesses of his reign pray that he will never find a way back, for they do not know how Mordekaiser could be stopped.
