What kind of game is this? Guild Wars Reforged is a comprehensive, slightly modernized version of the 20-year-old MMORPG classic Guild Wars. You should not expect an elaborate remake. The package includes:

• all three campaigns of Guild Wars, namely Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall
• overhauled user interface, controller support, additional settings (such as for text size), and support for modern monitors
• graphic updates for dynamic bloom effects in the sky, improved lighting, or optimized textures
• increased user-friendliness through a new quest tracking system and a control guide
• verification for the Steam Deck

What makes the first Guild Wars special? There are several reasons why Guild Wars was voted by MeinMMO readers as the 6th best MMORPG of all time last year. For example, the diverse game world, which consists of the three continents Tyria, Cantha, and Elona.

The journeys through the various areas are accompanied by catchy musical pieces from the award-winning composer Jeremy Soule, which are among the best in the genre. Additionally, there is a character system where you can combine classes to create, for example, a death knight from a warrior and a necromancer.

Some veterans from back then also rave about the titular guild wars and the community spirit, the exciting PvP battles, the hard-won achievements on the guild world rankings, and the shared moments in the guild hall. 

What do the Steam reviews say? The new Reforged version is really well received by the community. Of the 3,255 reviews so far, a strong 87 percent are positive. The 65 reviews from the past 30 days are 81 percent positive. In the few negative reviews, players criticize the outdated gameplay experience. Most people, however, celebrate the nostalgia trip.

How many players does it have on Steam? In the past 30 days, there was an average of 443 players online. The peak during this time was 902 concurrent players. The all-time high is 5,580. With its own launcher and the new mobile version, the total number is likely much higher.

Who is this MMORPG for? Especially for fans of the first Guild Wars who want to revive their past gaming experience. The Reforged version is also exciting for all genre fans who missed the MMORPG back then and now want to catch up in the best possible version.
