Daeron II was the son and successor of King Aegon IV. This was a rather thankless position, as Aegon “the Unworthy” is considered the worst king in Westeros. For every terrible decision his father made, Daeron had to find a solution. He mastered this task with excellence and finally gave the people hope for a better future.
As a ruler, Daeron was more of a politician than a warrior. We have already heard several times about Dorne on this list. Wars were fought and peace was made. But it was only through Daeron that the southernmost kingdom of Westeros was finally integrated into the realm. To do this, he married into House Martell. A clever move that permanently shaped the realm.
Furthermore, Daeron was a very wise and just king. After all, he became known by the epithet “the Good”, which shows how popular he was as a ruler. To be fair, that wasn’t hard compared to his terrible predecessor.
