Baelor’s task was to clean up the chaos left by his predecessor Daeron. This mainly included the conflict with Dorne. Despite the threatening situation, Baelor’s top priority was always peace. In fact, he managed to reach an agreement with Dorne and thus put an end to the hostilities.
We know Baelor’s name primarily from the “Great Sept of Baelor” in Game of Thrones, which Cersei spectacularly blew up in Season 6. This is no coincidence, as Baelor was also known for his religious zeal.
He rejected the incestuous traditions of his family and devoted himself entirely to the faith of the Seven. In the name of this faith, his greatest goal was to care for the population. To do this, he plundered the state coffers and thus earned the love of the common people.
Unfortunately, his convictions increasingly turned into religious fanaticism. Most of his decisions were made based on visions, thus more or less randomly. This led to questionable situations, such as when he expelled thousands of people from King’s Landing.
