At just 14 years old, Daeron, the grandson of Rhaenyra and Daemon, became king. He was supported by Viserys II as Hand of the King, who would later become king himself.
Despite his young age, Daeron quickly distinguished himself as an exceptional ruler. He was politically astute, undeniably charismatic, and a military genius. He accomplished what even Aegon the Conqueror had failed to do. For the first time in the history of Westeros, he conquered Dorne. And that was despite having no dragons at his disposal. In response to his advisors’ concerns, he simply replied that there was still one dragon: himself. Since then, he has been known as “the young dragon.”
Unfortunately, his luck did not last long. At 18, he was murdered by Dornish rebels.
