Pokémon GO has announced a new Raid Day. Here you will find 2 completely new Mega Evolutions for the first time, which also come with an increased Shiny chance.
What kind of event is this? A Raid Day is an event that is active for 3 hours. During this time, you can find, defeat, and capture the featured monsters in a majority of the arenas.
While on June 27, 2026 the Raid Day with Mega-Panzaeron takes place, the following Raid Day has already been announced. It will take place on July 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Here you can expect not just one, but two new Mega Evolutions.
Three hours, two evolutions, one increased Shiny chance
Which monsters will be at the Raid Day? During the Raid Day, you can find the two Mega Evolutions of Raichu in Super Mega Raids. They are named Mega-Raichu X and Mega-Raichu Y. Both have not been present in the game before and celebrate their debut here.
What bonuses are there for the event? During the event, the following bonuses await you:
- increased chance of Shiny Raichu from Super Mega Raids
- Raichu has Mega Level 1 when you catch it in Super Mega Raids
- up to 6 free Raid Passes through Arena Photo Discs
- the remote Raid limit is increased to 20 (from July 18, 2026, at 2:00 AM until July 19, 2026, at 5:00 AM)
- a free, limited research where you receive a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Steelix
- optional event ticket for $4.99 (about €5), which allows you to receive up to 14 Raid Passes through arenas as well as an increased chance for special XL candies after raids and 5,000 additional XP and Stardust from Super Mega Raids
If you are aiming for both Mega forms, the bonus of Mega Level will be especially interesting. This ensures that you do not need to farm Mega Energy for the two monsters, but ideally defeat and catch both evolutions once in a raid. Afterwards, you will have 2 Raichu, each of which can trigger one of the two evolutions.
How strong will they be? The exact strength of the two evolutions will only be finally visible when they have made their way into the game. Current predictions suggest that Mega-Raichu Y will be among the best attackers in Pokémon GO and will rise to the top of electric attackers.
Mega-Raichu X is expected to be weaker and will not find a place among the top attackers.
