In Pokémon GO a feature has been removed that has not brought much joy to many trainers – even though it sometimes provided strong rewards.
There are changes in Pokémon GO from time to time. While mainly new content and features are added, sometimes things can also be removed from the game.
This has also happened with the start of the new season. A feature that, despite strong rewards, did not really create a stir among some trainers has been affected.
No scans, no rewards
Which feature is affected? A special type of field research has been removed: the scan research. During this, you had to activate the camera in the game at a PokéStop and film the surroundings around the stop.
In return, you could receive items as rewards. While some rewards here were rather weak, you could also receive really strong rewards like Knurspe, which can help you with your buddy Pokémon.
If you still had such a task in your field research, you will now look in vain for it. All active tasks related to this have been removed, and you will not receive new ones either.
Is there a replacement for the research? Currently, it is unknown if the scan field research will ever be brought back into the game. However, there is, also since the start of the new season, an alternative. Instead of the scan tasks, there is now also the possibility to obtain Knurspe through regular field research.
You simply have to complete familiar tasks, such as “Catch 50 Pokémon.” The filming of an environment in the game is completely eliminated.
So if you have previously been among the trainers who completely avoided these scan tasks, you can now receive the coveted item much more relaxed.
