Soon Intel’s new attack on the graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD is likely. A streamer shows the new GPU days too early.

Who showed what? The Twitch streamer FUNKYKIT showed during a livestream the Intel Arc B580 – first just the packaging and finally also the graphics card itself. At least that’s the report from Videocardz. The stream itself is now no longer accessible. The reason may be fear of negative consequences. Because FUNKYKIT broke an embargo with the stream.
The problem: The card does not actually exist officially yet. Intel will only present it on December 3, 2024. The corresponding announcement post from the chip manufacturer on X suggests this, as Intel Arc is mentioned and the shown animation teases a GPU. According to rumor, the new graphics cards are supposed to be released on December 12 (via Videocardz).

What kind of graphics card will the Intel Arc B580 be? The Battlemage
called second generation of Intel’s Arc graphics cards aims to be attractive for budget-conscious gamers. It is aimed primarily at players who play at 1440p or Full HD, less at enthusiasts willing to spend more than 500 euros or even 1,000 euros for a GPU.
Its recommended retail price is supposed to be 249 dollars according to leaks reported by Videocardz. In Germany, our experience suggests it could be sold for around 300 euros including taxes.
According to our colleagues from GameStar-Tech, who refer to the leaker “Golden Pig Upgrade” on the Chinese platform Weibo, the Intel Arc B580 is supposed to target graphics cards like Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. It could be up to 150 euros cheaper than the Nvidia competitor (via Amazon). Compared to the Radeon RX 6750 XT, as a representative from the same performance segment, it will probably be less distinguishable. The AMD card is currently being sold for about 320 euros according to Amazon.
How did the first generation of Intel Arc fare? Already in 2022, Intel tried to scratch the dominance of AMD and Nvidia in the GPUs – with success. A list at TomsHardware shows how, for example, the Intel Arc A580 as predecessor of the B580 could be classified between much more expensive cards.
However, especially at the beginning, driver problems overshadowed the otherwise good impression (via Techpowerup). However, the situation eased over time, as Gamersnexus wrote in February 2024.
By no means mid-range, but the absolute top class could perhaps have been achieved by this GPU if Nvidia had ever brought it to market.
