The announced tariffs by the US government are unsettling many companies and investors. Anonymous sources now report that Apple is planning to bring 1.5 million iPhones to the USA in order to avoid later tariffs.
The tech giant Apple has chartered freight flights to transport 600 tons of iPhones or approximately 1.5 million devices from India to the United States. This is reported by the English-language magazine Reuters, which cites anonymous sources.
Apple is trying to circumvent the new tariffs and replenish its stock of popular iPhones. The USA is, alongside the United Kingdom, Apple’s most important market for its iPhones. This is reported by the English-language BBC.
Update, 04/13/25: Meanwhile, there is a tariff exemption from the US government for electronic devices (via TheVerge.com): Smartphones, laptops, hard drives, computer processors, and memory chips are to be exempted from the 125% tariff imposed by Trump on Chinese goods, as well as the 10% base tariff for most other countries.

Apple increases production with partners in China, Foxconn raises supply to the USA
The sources cited by Reuters report that Apple wants to get ahead of the high tariffs on its devices. The quoted source says: The company has worked with Indian airport authorities to reduce customs clearance time at Chennai Airport in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu from 30 to six hours.
So far, six cargo planes with a capacity of 100 tons each have departed since March. In terms of weight, there are approximately 1.5 million iPhones in the cargo boxes when accounting for the weight of the packaging.
What else supports Apple’s approach? Apple is supposedly supporting its air freight deliveries by significantly increasing production in the relevant factories in India. To achieve this, they are also having their employees work on Sundays. Two more sources from Reuters confirmed that the Foxconn plant in Chennai now works on Sundays as well.
Foxconn is one of Apple’s most important suppliers, and the largest plant produced about 20 million iPhones in 2024.
It is also noticeable that the value of Foxconn shipments from India to the United States has significantly increased, as evidenced by publicly available customs data.
Between September and December 2024, shipments ranged from 110 to 331 million US dollars.
In January 2025, shipments rose to 770 million US dollars.
In February 2025, the value was still 643 million US dollars.
What about other companies? Apple is not the only company, reports Nikkei Asia: Companies like Apple, Dell, Microsoft, and Lenovo, which had only a few days, are currently pushing their suppliers to fly as many premium devices to the USA as possible before it could become really expensive for customers.
In the summer, the 2nd major Title Update is coming to Monster Hunter Wilds, along with a fan favorite that hasn’t appeared in new installments for 16 years. MyMMO editor Alexander Schürlein revisited the old installment to prepare for the return – and promptly regretted it.
As a player who embarked on my journey as a monster hunter with Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii, I was immediately excited when I saw the teaser for the upcoming 2nd TU. Could it really be true and was my beloved Leviathan Lagiacrus returning? After 16 long years?
The teaser speaks for itself: The promising splashes of water followed by a distinctive claw, blue scales, and the iconic long neck. It’s just seconds, but seconds that are unmistakable for any fan. The hype immediately grabbed me, and I reveled in memories of the long-gone battles of 2009 in Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii.
For longtime fans, the teaser is clear: The lord of the seas is returning
However, many of today’s players only started the series with Monster Hunter World or Rise, and access to this old game is very limited nowadays. If you want to fight Lagiacrus today, you either have to use an old Wii and Monster Hunter Tri or revert to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Nintendo 3DS.
Both options are no longer available in stores, so interested players have to rely on used gems if they want to relive those old times.
I took this opportunity to confront Lagiacrus once again in this old version and would like to take you on this journey. So, I excitedly unpacked my old Wii and nostalgically inserted the CD for Monster Hunter Tri. My old save file from 2012 was even still there. With a racing pulse, I started the hunt for Lagiacrus and set out on my search.

From the dreaded controls and finger acrobatics
Hardly on my way, I realized again how incredibly bad, yet adventurous, the controls were back then. Anyone who knows the Wii from back then knows: There was only one joystick with the Nunchaku – and it served for movement.
The camera was controlled via the D-pad on the second controller (the one that looks like a small remote). With a Classic Controller, it looked different, but back then I didn’t know anyone who had one.
Since you understandably needed the camera quite often and also had to attack with the same controller, some finger acrobatics were necessary if you wanted to keep an eye on everything, attack, dodge, block, and use items. So I usually played with my left index finger stretched across the D-pad, trying to operate it and all other buttons somehow simultaneously.
But that didn’t deter us back then, and today it didn’t deter me either. At least until I encountered Lagiacrus and painfully realized again why this creature hadn’t been seen in a Monster Hunter for so long: because the lord of the seas was primarily found in one place: the damned sea.
The lord of the seas and the damned thunder damage
How was the fight against Lagiacrus back then? And thus, the biggest problem reemerges that this otherwise magnificent monster brings with it. Because you can now imagine this terrible control with additional dimensions underwater. Yes, it was… fun. Lagiacrus was one of the few beasts in Monster Hunter that could be fought underwater.
After Monster Hunter Tri/3, underwater battles never occurred again in a Monster Hunter, as they are simply too labor-intensive. Once you play one of these hunts, you can also imagine well why it would be so difficult to modernize and reintroduce it.
It was incredibly difficult to keep an eye on the monster as it could come from above, below, left, right, or anywhere else. Additionally, you had to somehow move and fight in this multi-dimensional underwater realm.
You can get an impression in this video, for example:

Additionally, Lagiacrus could also move on land and effectively fight its hunters there as well. So it had 2 different move sets to adapt to.
Underwater, it was much faster than on land and could attack from more angles, which it particularly exploited with its long tail. It could also fire several thunder balls and charge a massive, powerful thunder ball to unleash on its hunters.
Especially annoying were its back spikes, which could unleash powerful electric attacks in its surroundings while underwater and afflict hunters with thunderblight. These could be broken to hinder him.
Far more interesting, especially looking at the upcoming battle in Monster Hunter Wilds, is its move set on land. As underwater battles will not return in Wilds, it is likely that poor Lagiacrus will have to mostly forgo its domain in this installment.
On land, it primarily fired nasty thunder projectiles and posed a threat to hunters with its still agile movements. Whether with a body slam or by swirling its head and tail around – it flung its opponents around or simply knocked them down. Its bites were not to be underestimated either, often striking multiple times in succession.
What could the fight look like in Monster Hunter Wilds? As mentioned earlier, Lagiacrus will likely have to forgo its sea. In Monster Hunter Wilds, it will primarily be found in the Crimson Forest, like the recently added Leviathan Mizutsune or the apex monster Uth Duna.
Both mentioned monsters are also leviathans and have a strong connection to the water realm. They are often found in water-covered areas, and Uth Duna can also be found underwater in some locations, although you cannot fight it there. Therefore, it’s likely that Lagiacrus will be represented in a similar way.
Here you can see Uth Duna underwater:

For the battle, it is highly likely that his land move set will be used. It will probably be polished and one or two new tricks added. Especially considering that Mizutsune can transform into a Karma Seer Mizutsune during the battle, it’s likely that something similar could be done with Lagiacrus.
In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, there was also an Ivory Lagiacrus and a Deep Sea Lagiacrus, which might also appear due to this innovation. So it remains exciting to see what we can expect this summer. Nevertheless, this 16-year-old fight probably gives a good taste.
Warhammer 40.000 is known for exaggerating everything and placing little value on morality. This combination leads to the fact that even death does not represent something sacred in any form. Those who die somehow continue to serve – this also applies to the superhuman Space Marines.
For some people, this path is blocked, not out of malice, but as a special “honor” of being allowed to continue serving the Emperor himself even after death.
If a Space Marine performs special services in life and is celebrated as a hero, the chances are good that instead of dying, he will receive a new body: a Dreadnought. These huge combat walkers are rather brutal constructs, not just for the enemy.
Similar to the Dreadnoughts, the Imperial Knights are controlled by a neural interface, but they are as large as cathedrals. In the series Broken Lance, you can see one of these knights:

“I serve even in death”
A Dreadnought, also known as a Cybot in German and affectionately called “angry mailbox” by the community, is a combat walker forged from ceramite and adamantium with an embedded armored sarcophagus.
Space Marines as superhuman supersoldiers are hard to kill but not immortal. If it happens that a brother is so severely mutilated that he can no longer be saved, he can be placed in a Dreadnought.
The spirit of the Space Marine is permanently connected to the machine with neural links. He “is” the Dreadnought until his remains inside are destroyed – which is pretty difficult.
Dreadnoughts are heavily armored and nearly indestructible. Among the few weapons that can pose a danger to them, various technologies of the Necrons count. The Cybots themselves are equipped with various weapons, from meltas and heavy bolters to flame and missile launchers to power glaives and other close-combat weapons.
A Dreadnought of the Ultramarines with a Marine for size comparison.
A piece of “living” history
The technology to create new Dreadnoughts has almost completely been lost in the Imperium of Man. Accordingly, most of these walkers are already ancient. Some are said to be so old that they still remember the founding of their chapter.
As a result, Dreadnoughts are not just powerful fighters but also guardians of valuable knowledge that are often consulted for advice. However, this happens rarely, as a Cybot is only awakened in the greatest need.
Most of the time, these war machines spend their time in artificial sleep. This is necessary, as even the brain of a Space Marine cannot withstand the permanent wiring unscathed and would eventually go insane.
The Space Marine and the Dreadnought can no longer be separated without the “pilot” being ultimately destroyed. In general, this coincides with the destruction of the walker; in rare cases, it can still be salvaged and reused.
Cybots have hardly any human… or Space Marine-like?… qualities left. That this is attempted in the design is said to be quite important. In a thread on Reddit, a user asks why the walkers still have slits for sight.
The community’s answer: the brain of the Space Marine is connected to all the sensors of the Dreadnought and actually wouldn’t need this slot anymore. It is just a redundantly unnecessary backup.
However, there is a certain psychological component. The closer the shape of a Dreadnought is to that of a human (or Space Marine), the less likely it is to go insane. After all, one is still a bit more oneself.
By the way, such walkers and questionable techniques exist not only among humans or Space Marines. The battle-hungry Orks with their crude technology have Killa Kans and Deff Dreads, both also combat walkers with a neuro-interface.
Unlike with the Space Marines, no quasi-dead beings are used among the Orks. Fallen Orks travel to Gork and Mork in the Great Green. Instead, a living Ork (or Snot) is literally welded into the machine. Permanently, of course.
The once powerful and elegant Eldar also have similar technology. Their wraith constructs, such as Wraith Knights or Wraithlords, are walkers made of wraithbone powered by the soulstone of a fallen Eldar.
If all of this still isn’t harsh and absurd enough for you, you should look back at the humans, more specifically: the fanatical warrior-priestesses of the Adepta Sororitas. They have Repentia and Penitent Engines, in which the captured deserter or sinner is either strapped naked before the walker to do penance, or must directly control the walker while enclosed in an iron maiden: Forget Space Marines: A Sisters of Battle Order in Warhammer 40.000 is much more impressive because they are “just humans”

Streamers from the German Twitch scene, especially from the League of Legends scene, have now determined who really has what it takes as a gamer in a competition. They started an Ironman run in Dark Souls and had to go as far as possible without being defeated. In doing so, they increased the viewership of “Dark Souls Remastered” by 33 times.
The goal was to play Dark Souls 1 for as long as possible and defeat many bosses without dying. Points were awarded for each boss defeated.
There were specific rules for the event regarding what tricks and strategies were allowed and which were not (via soulskeepers).

For a former colleague of Maxim, Sola, the event did not go well at all; he was eliminated after just one boss battle with 5 points. He shares the last place with players like Krokoboss or MrMoregame.
HandOfBlood apparently wasn’t satisfied with his performance either. With 19 points, he only placed in the middle but found himself in good company, landing as a sandwich between his friends Broeki and Kalle.
However, HandOfBlood has the honor of having achieved the death clip on Twitch with the most views.

On September 23, 2025, Bungie’s new game Marathon will be released. The developers have now shown gameplay for the first time and revealed what the battles in the game will look like.
This is how the gameplay of Marathon works: Marathon (PS5, Xbox Series, PC) is Bungie’s new extraction shooter in which you take on the role of a so-called “Runner” – these are cybernetic mercenaries – hunting for loot.
As an extraction shooter, Marathon follows a specific principle: You start a run, loot items, fight against NPCs and other players (PvPvE), and try to extract. If you die, you lose the equipment you were carrying.
Upon release, there will be 2 different maps available where up to 18 players can compete per lobby. Each team consists of up to 3 players.
Before each run, you choose one of 6 Runners, each with different abilities such as a cloaking mode or a forward-facing shield.
In addition, you also prepare your loadout before the start of the round.
If you have lost all your equipment and have an empty stash, the so-called factions can sponsor you a new loadout.
Loot includes items like weapons, materials, and equipment.
With the factions, you can also take on different missions and complete them during your runs for a reward. You also receive rewards for assisting your teammates with their missions.
Bungie’s great strength: With Destiny, Bungie has created a loot shooter that is widely known for its excellent gunplay. The various firearms are easy to handle and yet memorable. Each weapon has the necessary punch and its own characteristics. And the movement fits well with the handling of the various firearms – it just feels consistent.
5 minutes of gameplay give a first taste of Marathon
On April 12, Bungie showcased gameplay for Marathon for the first time. In a nearly five-minute video, we got to see the weapons of the shooter and how they behave in combat. The developers also demonstrated some abilities and gadgets as well as the movement of the Runners.
Before we discuss our observations, you can watch the video here:

Bungie shows first gameplay of Marathon in trailer
Simple gunplay meets fast movement
What stands out about the gunplay? The gunplay itself feels intuitive. The recoil looks relatively easy to control, and the sights are clear and straightforward. Overall, it feels “smooth”.
Additionally, there is relatively fast, action-packed movement that includes slides, jumps, and dashes, which complements the gunplay well.
The weapons themselves are adapted to the sci-fi setting of the shooter. Depending on the weapon, the shots do not seem to be ballistic rounds fired with much force. Instead, they appear to launch some kind of energy or laser projectile.
In general, different weapons were showcased. We saw for example:
rapid-fire submachine guns
sniper rifles
shotguns
and something that could be a type of machine gun with a large magazine.
The weapons apparently also have different ammunition types. For a submachine gun, for instance, light ammunition was required.
The time-to-kill of Marathon is difficult to assess based on the gameplay trailer, but it seems roughly comparable to the TTK in PvP from Destiny – perhaps it is slightly higher. Battle royale shooters like CoD: Warzone or Apex Legends might have a similar TTK.
In an interview, Marathon director Joe Ziegler revealed that it is at least possible to win 1v3 situations depending on gear, strategy, and skill.
The video also shows that the shields of the Runners noticeably impact the time-to-kill. They function somewhat like the shield system in Apex Legends and ideally regenerate with consumables, as they only fill up slowly on their own. Additionally, you can upgrade the shields and thus receive more shield segments, allowing you to absorb even more enemy fire.
Long-term motivation through endgame content and ranked
What makes Marathon special: Marathon has a strong focus on PvP, and to keep you motivated to play the shooter long-term, there will be endgame content, community events, and seasonal storytelling, as well as some kind of ranked mode. In this mode, matchmaking will also depend on your rating – unlike in the normal explorer mode.
So that your matches don’t just consist of watching your surviving teammates after a lost gunfight, they can revive you at any time – provided your opponents allow it.

A new survival shooter called Frostrail is set to release on Steam. The cooperative game aims to challenge you with hard survival in a frozen environment and Lovecraftian horror monsters. Your only protection: a steam locomotive. And the creators definitely know what they’re doing.
The emperor of the realm you find yourself in has made a pact with the void. As a result, not only has the land turned to ice, but cosmic shadow monsters now roam.
As the “Gardener of Penance,” you are now tasked with combating evil and finding “redemption amidst the icy wasteland.” Frostrail is set to release in early access on Steam in 2026, where you can already add it to your wishlist.
This is what Frostrail offers: The focus of the game is on exploration. While you will drive your train through the land – either alone or in co-op – you must frequently stop to replenish supplies. Hunger and thirst don’t affect you, but the cold certainly does.
In ruins and other dungeons, you will find useful items for crafting: you can create and upgrade weapons and tools yourself. Whenever you leave the train, you expose yourself to the dangers posed by the shadow monsters that hunt you.
The central element of the game is your steam locomotive. Throughout the game, you can expand your train, attach and furnish new carriages. This allows you to create additional storage, workshops, and turn your train into a fortress. However, you cannot stay stationary for long – similar to Snowpiercer.

Previous game by the creators already makes players suffer
Frostrail comes from FakeFish, the studio that created the Dwarf Fortress-inspired Barotrauma. Barotrauma is considered a significant challenge among players on Steam.
In the survival game, you must manage a crew in a submarine in space, which is constantly attacked by cosmic horror beings. Chaos and despair are the order of the day, and survival is rather the exception, at least at the beginning.
Providing protection in an immensely limited space within an otherwise vast world with only a few stops is something that FakeFish has already executed well. Horror and survival are recurring themes here as well. Barotrauma has a 94% positive rating on Steam.
Unlike Barotrauma, the developers are trying their hand at a first-person shooter with a realistic look this time, rather than a 2D game with comic graphics. The challenges are likely to be similarly tough. If you’re looking for more options in the genre, you’ll find the best survival games for PC, PS5, and Xbox in our list.

Larian has announced the release for Update 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3. But some players are already complaining that they have to restart their run now. Another issue that’s troubling players is: What about popular mods that the community actively uses?

Update 8: “It’s like saying goodbye to a dear friend”
What are the players “grumbling” about? Some players report that they recently started a run of the game. But with the new update, that would more or less be in vain now. One player jokingly complains: “I’ve just started a new run, you can go take a hike, Larian. Lovingly, a fan.”
In general, old save files are compatible with new updates, but certain content can only be used if you start the game from the beginning. Such as the new subclasses.
Other players are also sad that with Update 8 the game is supposed to be officially completed. The game has accompanied them for a long time, and the developers have continuously surprised the loyal fan base with new content. But that seems to be coming to an end now. One player writes (via Reddit.com):
This actually makes me quite sad. This game has been a big part of my gaming life for the last year and a half, and Patch 8 means the official end of new content.
I know that some spectacular mods are in the works that will keep the spirit of the game alive for many more years, but it’s like saying goodbye to a dear friend who is moving to another continent.
Are there real problems as well? Yes, some players fear that the patch will likely break many popular mods initially. One person asks (via Reddit.com): “The patch will definitely destroy many of my mods, right?”
For particularly popular modifications, it is probably just a matter of time before the developers behind the content bring out a new update to make the mods compatible again.
For Baldur’s Gate 3, you have numerous mods available that allow you to customize the game to your liking. MeinMMO shows you the 10 best mods you should know about, as well as important tools to install mods easily: Baldur’s Gate 3: The 10 best mods for your run

V Rising, a popular survival game on Steam, is getting a major update. This includes not only new weapons and enemies but also new ways to play the game.
Now the developers have presented a trailer for the new update 1.1 titled “Invaders of Oakveil” (via steampowered.com).
Start video
V Rising: The trailer for the 1.0 release of the vampire game
“Invaders of Oakveil” brings new enemies, weapons, and an arena
What does “Invaders of Oakveil” bring? Invaders of Oakveil introduces new mechanics, new weapons and spells, improved alchemy, deeper customization, and of course, many new features for your vampire castle. Additionally, with Megara, the Queen of Serpents (the lady in the title image), there is also a new boss in the game.
The update also brings three new weapon types: The Claw, the Twin Blade, and the Throwing Dagger. All three weapon types come with new abilities and functions. Furthermore, the developers have revamped blood types and added a new type called “corrupted blood”. Moreover, you can now better customize your equipment at the new fusion forge. Two new modes for multiplayer are also included: Duels and Arenas.
Duels and arenas are meant to be casual “PvP without risk”.
The first new mode is called “Duel”. The two vampires fight against each other, and at the end of the conflict, when one player’s health drops to 0, the duel ends. The health points of both players are reset to the state before the fight began, undoing all the damage done during the conflict. You can challenge other players to duels (almost) anywhere in the open world.
The second new mode is the “Arena” and is actually a whole feature: Arenas are supposed to provide a controlled PvP experience that you can customize extensively. The concept is to designate a specific area within your castle where organized fights can take place. This includes an arena station, a new type of structure you can build in your castle to define the boundaries of your arena. Theoretically, you could transform half of your castle into an arena.
There are also flags that allow vampires to assign themselves to different teams, creating a structured and competitive environment for duels and team fights. Whether you plan a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or something entirely different is up to you.
With the new PvP modes, the developers aim to cater to players who have found PvP in V Rising too risky so far but have always wanted to give PvP a try.
Blizzard continues to refine the balance in World of Warcraft and brings several buffs for many classes on the upcoming Wednesday, April 16. However, some particularly popular specializations are facing adjustments.
What’s going on in WoW right now: Season 2 of The War Within has been running for over a month and the classes are gradually settling into a status quo. Many top players already have their best trinkets, weapons, and other armor pieces. The strength of the classes is now really coming to the fore.
Together with the new raid, the Liberation of Lorenhall, new dungeons have also entered the Mythic+ rotation and provide players with surprisingly much fun. In the dungeons, there are again some of the best trinkets in play.
WoW Patch 11.1: Gallywix’s Control over the Cartels
Buffs for (almost) everyone, Nerfs for Discipline and Demon Hunters
What changes on Wednesday: With the upcoming patch on April 15 or 16, nearly all classes will receive adjustments, and for most, these are buffs. These include some general “aura” buffs that simply make everything better, as well as very specific skills that will be improved.
The following specializations will receive a buff on Wednesday:
Balance Druid (with specific nerfs included)
Affliction Warlock
Demonology Warlock
Destruction Warlock
Arcane Mage
Fire Mage
Brewmaster Monk
Windwalker Monk
Holy Paladin
Retribution Paladin
Holy Priest
Enhancement Shaman
Elemental Shaman
Enhancement Shaman (only damage)
Blood Death Knight
Frost Death Knight
Most of these buffs are quite reasonable. Looking at the current DPS ranking for the Liberation of Lorenhall, most of the mentioned classes are struggling – with the exception of the Affliction Warlock. Here the buff will affect spells that contribute too little overall damage, but the specialization is already extremely strong.
The buff for the Retribution Paladin is also two-sided. While the class is weak in raids, it is, according to the analysis site Raider.IO, by far the most popular spec in Mythic+ dungeons, even across all roles. No class is played more frequently there.
The following specializations will receive a nerf:
Vengeance Demon Hunter
Guardian Druid
Discipline Priest
Unholy Death Knight
Unholy Death Knights are one of the strongest specs in the mythic raid. However, the nerf only affects one ability from the San’layn talent tree.
However, the situation is more interesting for Demon Hunters and Priests. Vengeance is, according to Raider.IO, the most popular tank spec in Mythic+ dungeons, and Discipline Priests make up almost 75% of healers starting from a key level of 16 and up (via Raider.IO).
They are also the strongest healer class in the mythic raid. Discipline Priests have just recently been adjusted several times. Therefore, the nerf is quite extensive here. You can find the complete patch notes on page 2.
Few children and high aging: This is the struggle currently facing South Korea like few other countries. To solve the problems, two new ideas have been conceived: nannies from the Philippines and robots.
What problems does South Korea face? South Korea has, uniquely among industrialized nations, an average number of children per woman that is below 1.00: Currently, it’s at 0.72. The German ZDF cites high workloads, high costs of housing and education as reasons. Along with this comes another problem: the significant aging of the population.
For several years now, South Korea has been trying to tackle the declining birth rates and rising aging. Now, a new “solution” has been found for the problems: they are relying on foreign nannies and robots.
Start video
In Germany, there are over 400 USB sticks protruding from walls – What is the ‘Dead Drops’ project?
Nannies for birth rate and robots for the elderly
What kind of nannies are these? South Korea issues special visas to attract Filipino domestic workers as nannies. However, requirements include skills such as childcare, household management, and basic language skills. The aim is to relieve the local population and encourage them to have children. This is reported by the English magazine Reuters.com.
One problem, however, is that the domestic workers are to be paid below the South Korean minimum wage to match the pay in their home country. This measure has faced strong international criticism (via 3djuegos.com).
What kind of robots are these? In South Korean society, there are already so many elderly people that it is becoming increasingly difficult to care for them all, and alternative solutions are being sought. One idea is now robots: In 2023, the city administration of Seoul distributed about 500 robotic dogs to elderly individuals living alone (via seoul.go.kr).
The robots are intended to encourage older individuals to exercise, support them as AI-assisted companions in daily life, and autonomously call emergency services if help is needed. Additionally, they serve as an autonomous monitoring system so that professionals can closely track the progress of the elderly without having to visit each household daily.
A Chinese influencer studied economics in New York and became known in China through a dating show. Now he rented an advanced robot for about €1,300 and went on a date with it. Perhaps this is the solution for all the lonely people out there: 25-year-old rents an expensive robot for a date, no longer feels lonely

Blizzard recently announced its plans for the current year in Diablo 4 – and they are not well received by everyone. Now the former head explains what the ARPG needs.
In a roadmap for 2025, Blizzard showed what else is on the agenda for Diablo 4: events, endgame updates, loot pets – and new, powerful abilities that you can unlock for your builds. They apparently remain true to the basic recipe of the seasons.
The plans are not going down well with the community. The topic of unlockable abilities is simply too frequent. A new expansion and leaderboards will not arrive until 2026. Although Blizzard emphasizes: This is not everything for the year in Diablo 4 – this has hardly pacified the community so far.
Now Mike Ybarra, the former Blizzard head, shares his thoughts on it. Ybarra enjoys a relatively good reputation in the community, partly because he always presents himself as a gamer who knows what players want.
Who is speaking? Mike Ybarra worked at Blizzard since August 2021 and was the president of the company since February 2022. Before Ybarra was at Blizzard, he worked at Microsoft for many years prior. In January 2024, he had his last day at Blizzard. His departure coincided with over 1,900 layoffs that were announced at that time.

“You are going around in circles with the same problems”
This is what the former head criticizes: In a post on X, Mike Ybarra refers to three issues he sees in Diablo 4:
The release rhythm of new content
Endgame activities
and the handling of expansions
Ybarra believes that the seasons need to move away from the cycle of “releasing to check off”. It is released, then patched for two months – and then it starts all over again. Content like leaderboards takes forever because the team is constantly busy with bug fixes that re-enter the game every new season, Ybarra adds in the comment.
The former head believes that the team needs to be given time to fundamentally overhaul the endgame. Currently, it is simply not fun: playing for a week, defeating Uber bosses 500 times, hoping for the right Unique – and then stopping until the next season. The sentiment in the community is: Diablo 4 constantly tries to please everyone, which is why it is worse than it could be.
According to Ybarra, major add-ons should be released every year. That was also the plan – but it had to be postponed after the first expansion. The second expansion will not come until 2026. He believes: less focus on story, more focus on content that is fun for a long time. New classes, fresh enemy types, fun endgame activities. After all, in ARPGs, you only play through the story once.
Mike Ybarra concludes his post with a summary:
If the cycle continues without addressing the fundamental issues, I don’t know where Diablo is headed. You can add as many endgame activities as you want, but you will be going around in circles with the same problems. At some point, there will just be so many arbitrary things that it’s not worth the effort.
What does the community say about this? In a Reddit thread, the community discusses Ybarra’s assessment. Some remind that Diablo 4 was developed under his leadership as president of Blizzard. His departure in January 2024 was six months after the release of Diablo 4. Others comment that they find his feedback very accurate overall.
In an interview with Diablo expert and YouTuber Rhykker, game director Brent Gibson talks about the upcoming expansion. He is already looking forward to the new class that is supposed to come into the game in 2026. Many fans still hope for a Paladin – and Gibson’s statements actually sound like what everyone wants: The head talks about the new class in Diablo 4, sounds a bit like what everyone wants

Elden Ring offered a terrible multiplayer mode in its original version, which a developer fixed on her own. Now she has taken on Dark Souls and has already presented a playable version of her new modification after just one week.
Elden Ring was released in February 2022 and featured a rudimentary multiplayer mode, as well as several network errors, and the mode was limited to 2 players. Developer Yui addressed the multiplayer mode back then and offers significantly more extensive options. The extensive multiplayer mod for Elden Ring has been presented to you on MeinMMO.
Now the developer explained in a video that she has taken on Dark Souls, and the first results are already impressive. According to her own statement, it only took a week to get the modification running. The multiplayer mod is already fully functional, but it may still contain bugs.
The developer explained to Polygon that Dark Souls is particularly well-suited for multiplayer:
Dark Souls 1 was my first Dark Souls game and it holds a special place in my heart. I believe that the interconnected world of the game makes it a really great candidate for seamless co-op.
Yui additionally explained that the development of the mod was significantly easier than for the modern Elden Ring. However, one can tell that Dark Souls is more than a decade old: the original version was released in 2011, and the remastered version improved it again in 2018.
Elden Ring Nightreign fully relies on the multiplayer mode:

New, seamless co-op mode for Dark Souls Remastered
What did the developer do? The first version of the co-op mod for Dark Souls Remastered was released on April 10, 2025. In her video on YouTube.com, you can see how the modification works: You use a new item to summon other players into your world. After defeating a boss, however, the group does not dissolve as it normally would. Other limitations of the old remastered version are also removed.
She explained among other things that Dark Souls was not designed for a truly open world. In the official game, there are fog walls that prevent players from moving too far away on the map. Therefore, she had to make the game deactivate or unload parts of the game as soon as the co-op partners move too far away from the host. Otherwise, the game would eventually crash. The step was quite complex, but she actually managed to do it.
The reaction streamer Staiy is nominated for the “Player of the Year” at the German Computer Game Awards in 2025: an award that is supposed to recognize engagement for video games, the community, or society. In a recent stream, Staiy appears passionate but not measured. Is this what the jury means when they praise him for showing clear stance?
This is the situation: In 2025, Staiy is nominated for the non-monetary award as Player of the Year, which is presented within the framework of the German Computer Game Awards.
The selecting jury praises Staiy’s “reflective and transparent insights” into the economic issues of the streaming industry. Staiy shows “clear stance” (via dcp).
Furthermore, his Let’s Play is honored in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Staiy yells at viewers who want to invest €25 a month
This is Staiy currently: In reaction to a video from the Dark Parable Knight, Staiy lost his temper and yelled at a viewer who suggested one could set aside €25 a month and invest in an ETF savings plan.
The statement got Staiy worked up. He insulted the user, their father, and the FDP. Staiy referred to the user as the “son of a pimp,” advised them to keep their “dirty mouth” shut, and threatened to “kick them back into the uterus.” The viewer was referred to as a little bastard.

Statement apparently violates the streamer’s worldview
What outraged Staiy so much? The assumption that one can also participate in capitalist prosperity with little money and the idea that if one just holds back a bit in life, they might achieve something, goes against Staiy’s worldview.
Staiy considers such statements illusory and misleading. There is a quote from John Steinbeck that socialism could never take root in America because the poor do not see themselves as exploited, but rather as just temporarily embarrassed millionaires.
Staiy suggests: Anyone who participates in the stock market as a non-wealthy individual and believes they can play along and become rich is indulging in an illusion instead of taking another path.
What are the comments like? They are quite positive. Apparently, there is joy that Staiy this time is not insulting people’s mothers but rather their fathers:
“I love it when Staiy godlessly goes after pimps”
“Hahaha, I thought it was great, lol.”
“The rant about the €25 brother was just so outrageously godless.”
In a documentary, the director of ‘A Goofy Movie’ mentions that a black dot almost ruined the film. In the end, they had to move the film’s release and redo everything.
In the 1990s, many people knew ‘A Goofy Movie’: It tells the story of Goofy and his son Max, who cause all sorts of chaos and experience many things along the way.
On IMDb, it has a rating of 6.9 out of 10 with over 66,000 reviews, making it not one of the best films released by Disney.
For its 30th anniversary, a new documentary “Not Just a Goof” about the film has now been released on Disney Plus. Here, director Kevin Lima shares that a black dot almost ruined the film. The English-language magazine Kotaku.com reports on this.
Among the actually popular Disney classics is Atlantis:

Due to a dead pixel, the film’s release had to be postponed by several months
What is this black dot? When they looked at the film during production, someone noticed a small black dot that ran through the entire footage. At first, the flaw was not noticeable on small monitors, but when enlarged to cinema size, the error became apparent.
It became frustrating when the staff struggled through the footage only to find that a pixel was missing in every frame of the finished film material. Director Lima explained:
That was so discouraging. We had to go back and reshoot the entire film.
What happened next? They began to redevelop the entire film; this time, however, they checked each shot double and triple to ensure it contained no irregularities. For this reason, the official release of the film was postponed from November 1994 to April 1995.
Nevertheless, Lima explained that it was a relief to miss the first release date. The team was already at the end of their rope and didn’t know how to finish the film at all. The reshoots gave them more breathing room and provided the extra time they needed to make A Goofy Movie as good as possible. Lima concluded:
Animated films are not just a wonderful form of entertainment for children. Besides the well-known films that come to mind when thinking of studios like Disney or DreamWorks, there are also representatives that faded into obscurity in their time. Here are 6 underrated animated films: 6 underrated animated films every fan of Disney and Pixar should see

Baldur’s Gate 3 was already huge at its release in 2023, but has gained an enormous amount of content over time. With the upcoming Patch 8, the developers are really going all out one last time before saying goodbye to Dungeons & Dragons.
When is the patch coming? Patch 8 is set to go live on all platforms on April 15, 2025, as Larian announced in a video message on Instagram. Starting at 3 PM our time, there will be a special live stream on Twitch where the developers will present the patch in more detail, including the 12 new subclasses.
Here’s a sneak peek:

The big highlight of the patch is of course the 12 new subclasses, which will further expand the already available subclasses. Additionally, there will finally be cross-play and cross-progression. Fans can also look forward to a wealth of smaller treats, such as an extensive photo mode and even more evil endings.
According to the comments on X, the community can hardly wait any longer. Some players are already planning a new playthrough that they want to start with the patch. How about you? Feel free to let us know in the comments what you want to do first in Patch 8.

Two streamers talked on Twitch about their income. Even the friend of one of the streamers was shocked by her wealth.
Which streamers are they? The two streamers Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter and Brittany “Cinna” Watts are both gaming influencers active on Twitch.
Valkyrae, also sometimes called Rae, has over 1.4 million followers and an average of 10,179 viewers per stream (via sullygnome). Cinna has over 630,000 followers on Twitch and captivates an average of 5,403 viewers per stream (via sullygnome).
Both stream video games, but occasionally they also hold streams where they have planned various activities.
Valkyrae and Cinna are major streamers in the international scene. In the video, we present three prominent Twitch streamers from the German region:

“I am as rich as Rae when I close my eyes”
During a car ride, Valkyrae’s personal assistant, Emily, sides with her employer in a small back-and-forth with Cinna. Cinna then replies that she could pay Emily what Valkyrae pays her and add a little on top.
She continues joking that she could now compare her wealth with Valkyrae while an advertisement is playing on Twitch. A statement for which she is humorously teased by her own cameraman, as she apparently is not as rich as Valkyrae.
After the commercial break, the topic comes up again. Cinna says: “I am as rich as Rae when I close my eyes” (via YouTube).
Valkyrae responds that she has been blessed with three YouTube exclusive contracts, to which Cinna reacts in shock. Such a contract binds the streamer to stream only on that particular platform, and in return, they are compensated with a significant sum of money. This is based on how many followers the streamer has.
Rae, on the other hand, is surprised that Cinna was not aware of this: “Why do you think I stayed on YouTube for so long?” (via YouTube). She further explains that she had these contracts over the course of five years. However, she could not specify the exact amount for which she had bound herself to YouTube.
The exact wealth of Valkyrae is not known. In an interview on the JasonTheWeen YouTube channel, Valkyrae gave a hint about how rich she really is. When asked if she has under or over $10 million in the bank, she answers “over” (via YouTube).
Cinna herself is also not unsuccessful. Although she has not yet been offered an exclusive contract from a platform, the fact that she has over 630,000 followers on Twitch and can afford her own cameraman should be enough indication of her financial blessing.
The current season of Path of Exile 2 is under criticism. However, the hate and vitriol have reached such proportions that fans are now standing up for the developers.
How is Path of Exile 2 doing? The new season of Path of Exile 2 had significant launch issues.
First, there were technical problems that led to performance drops and game crashes.
Then there was great upset over the nerfs, which many players felt were too harsh.
Many of the problems that plagued the new season “Dawn of the Hunt” at launch have now been resolved. However, recent reviews reflect that the ARPG still stands at only 40% positive ratings (via Steam). Since the patch, these ratings have been trending more positively.
In the forums, on Reddit, and in the chats of larger content creators, the frustration of players is palpable. Many posts full of anger, hate, and vitriol directed at the developers can be found. While constructive criticism is always welcome, fans are now standing up for the developers and stating that it has gone too far.

Time to Appreciate the Work of the Developers
What do the fans say? Fans have discussed the many negative comments, messages, and posts on Reddit. In their opinion, the hate has gone too far. Post creator MomentoDemento explains on Reddit:
It has been ages since I last saw such engaged developers. So please, take a step back, even if you are upset about the recent nerfs, and think about it for a moment. The game is still in Early Access, and you acknowledged that when you purchased it on Steam.
So once again: Please have a little more patience instead of bombarding them with negative reviews and constantly complaining in the forums about the latest changes. They are clearly working incredibly hard to deliver what the community wants, and that effort deserves recognition.
It really hurts to see so much hate over just a few percentage changes. They are also people, and it is worth considering how you would feel in their place after putting everything into this project. I once again ask for more patience. I truly believe that in the end, they will deliver the best game in the genre.
The post is receiving a lot of support. For example, SecXy94 writes on Reddit: “This post and the comments shed light on something. People seem to think that feedback or criticism is synonymous with hate and bitterness. Some people are going way too far.”
How are the developers doing? Since the new season “Dawn of the Hunt” was released, the developers have added 18 patches and hotfixes within 6 days, and the trend is increasing (via PathofExile.com). In three posts in the official forum, the developers have also written about upcoming and planned changes as well as their ideas for the game.
Game Director Jonathan Rogers (seen in the title image) and Mark Roberts also appeared in a livestream with PoE2 content creator Zizaran (via YouTube) and talked for over 2 hours about their thoughts on the ARPG and answered questions from the chat. So the developers are not idle and repeatedly show that they take the players’ concerns seriously.

Those who are part of a widely scattered family may know the challenge of staying in touch with everyone regularly. An MMORPG like World of Warcraft can help spend time together even over great distances.
Which family puts this into practice? The WoW player Pale_Sun8898 wanted to find out on Reddit why others still play the Blizzard MMORPG after so many years, even though they no longer have as much time due to work, family, and so on as they did 15 or 20 years ago.
He himself now focuses mainly on story and solo content due to the exhausting everyday life, and he is working on the transmog collection for his ten characters. Back in 2005, when he was 18, things looked very different. At that time, he was specifically focused on mastering raids.
Among the over 1,200 responses, there is also an experience report from RosyBijou. The player states that she only started playing WoW because her son (who was still a student at the time, and is now in his mid-30s) wanted to play the game. She didn’t trust this internet and therefore got a version of the game herself.
In the following years, the shared hobby became a great way for RosyBijou and her son to communicate. Today, he is married, has kids, and lives in another state. However, WoW continues to be an important bonding element for the family because the game provides a simple way to spend time together even over great distances.
Every weekend we spend a few hours on Discord, playing dungeons, exploring the depths, or sometimes just wandering around Azeroth while chatting and catching up (it’s better than uncomfortable phone calls…).
As our family has grown, our family WoW group has also expanded. It has become the highlight of my weekends because I’m with everyone (but to be honest, I also enjoy popping in just for myself during the week!).

tendies_senpai asks on Reddit: “Can I join your guild? Signed, someone who desperately wants to play without toxicity. I just had my first child […]. In the little time I have to play, it really annoys me that I can’t join a queue for Solo Shuffle without someone (healer) blaming me for their performance issues.”
ZAlternates reports on Reddit: “That’s really cool. A couple from our guild has three kids who play, and they always have their perfect 5-player group. The husband used to tank when the kids were younger, but the oldest started tanking in Dragonflight and loved it. It seems cool to keep that going, at least for a few more decades.”
Nya-Nyan writes on Reddit: “I know this from my family. My brother introduced us to WoW many years ago. We introduced my boys, then my baby as soon as it was old enough. Now, 20 years later, we still all meet in WoW and on Discord. Every time I see their character, it feels like I’m seeing them, because I know their characters just a few years less than I know them, so it feels like I’m meeting them in person.”
Dungeon Fighter Online is the largest MMORPG in the world, but its success relies mainly on Asia. In the West, there was an attempt to win new fans with a spin-off – and it receives very good ratings on Steam.
Which game is being talked about? You can hardly believe it, but the action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan actually takes place in the same universe as the MMORPG Dungeon Fighter Online.
The great success of the MMORPG is largely limited to Asia; in the West, the game is relatively unknown.

Khazan aims to entice players to start DNF
That Dungeon Fighter Online is not a big name in the West is also known to the CEO of developer Neople: Myeongjin Yun. In an interview, Yun spoke with PC Gamer about the lack of success of the MMORPG in the West and what was anticipated from the solo adventure with Khazan.
Yun explains that the original DNF as a 2D sidescroller “might be a bit niche.” For this reason, they thought about introducing players to the Dungeon Fighter universe in another way. After trying it with the fighting game DNF Duel, they decided to give Khazan an action RPG format.
We wanted to develop Khazan to present the fast, intense action of the series and to highlight the storytelling and lore that the Dungeon Fighter franchise has built over the last decades.
Myeongjin Yun, CEO of Neople (via PC Gamer)
The experiment paid off, at least partially: The First Berserker: Khazan has recorded 90% positive reviews on Steam and had a peak of almost 33,000 concurrent players (via steamdb.info). It is, therefore, very well accepted on the platform. But has the action RPG also attracted new players to the MMORPG?
At least on Steam, there has been no noticeable increase in the player numbers of Dungeon Fighter Online since the release of The First Berserker: Khazan. The MMORPG is still played by only about 400 people there, and the reviews continue to be “balanced”. (via steamdb.info)
