Twitch: 27-Year-Old Streams in Car, Runs Red Light

The Twitch streamer Emily “ExtraEmily” Zhang is known for her scatterbrained yet lovable demeanor. However, she often gets herself into trouble, as recently when she filmed herself running a red light.

What was the situation? ExtraEmily was driving on April 12, 2025, while streaming on Twitch. The camera mount was set up so that viewers could see the streamer.

However, during the stream, she rotated the camera so that the road was visible instead – and also the glaring red traffic light that the streamer zoomed past without stopping (but with strange chimpanzee sounds).

The traffic regulations seem to be something like the natural enemy of many Twitch streamers:

Start video
Twitch: MontanaBlack is criticized for his driving behavior

ExtraEmily: “It’s okay, people do it like that”

What did the streamer say about it? ExtraEmily played it cool: “This happens all the time. In Austin [Texas], the traffic lights take really long. I usually just drive through them.” The streamer thanked a viewer for a subscription in between and continued: “It’s okay, it’s okay, people do it like that.”

However, Twitch apparently did not find the 27-year-old’s driving behavior entirely acceptable, as today, on April 13, her channel was banned. Since the streaming platform is notorious for not officially disclosing reasons for bans, we cannot say with certainty that this action was the cause for the ban, but it is highly likely.

Due to the ban, ExtraEmily’s channel and thus the recording of the stream are no longer available. However, you can find the clip here:

It is still unclear how long ExtraEmily will lose access to her account. This is already her second ban. She was previously banned in October 2023 for looking at her phone while driving.

The community guidelines from Twitch are clear. Under the section “Self-destructive behavior,” it explicitly states that “Dangerous driving behavior (e.g. using the phone while driving)” is prohibited.

Viewers demand driver’s license revocation and streaming ban

However, ExtraEmily must not only account to the streaming platform, but also to the community, which is far from pleased. A post in the streaming subreddit LivestreamFail received over 1,000 comments – a few of which we have compiled here.

  • Lytaa asks: “Is it really that difficult not to play with your phone or not to read the chat for a few minutes while driving? […]” (via Reddit)
  • BrawDev can’t believe it: “Sorry, did she just admit that she routinely ignores traffic lights because they take too long? There’s no way to dig yourself deeper. WTF.” (via Reddit)

At the time the clip was shared, ExtraEmily was not banned from Twitch, which is why many users in the comments are calling for a ban. Some even go further and demand that the streamer’s driver’s license be revoked or that Twitch should prohibit streaming while driving altogether.

Comments that defend the streamer or downplay her behavior are nowhere to be found.

A so-called red light violation can not only lead to a ban but also has legal consequences. In Germany, a fine of at least 90 euros and a point in Flensburg is possible. However, in case of endangering other road users or even causing an accident, it can get really expensive quickly (via Bußgeldkatalog.org)
In Austin, Texas, where the streamer lives, running a red light is not considered a crime, but fines ranging from $75 to over $200, as well as 2 points on the driver’s license may apply – anyone who collects too many within 3 years loses their license (via San Antonio Criminal Defense).

Just a few days ago, we reported on MeinMMO about another traffic offender who also made evidence of his misdeeds himself. However, he showed no remorse: “I’m in GTA, bro” – Armed 19-year-old sparks wild chase with the police

8 magical items in Dungeons & Dragons that everyone wants even though they are useless

In the multiverse of Dungeons & Dragons, there is all kinds of powerful loot that players want to get their hands on. However, there are also plenty of seemingly useless items that are quite popular and lead to numerous amusing situations. We have gathered 8 of these items for you.

How was the list created? For our list, we selected 8 magical items that at first glance do not seem to be very useful, but have effects that can be particularly creatively or amusingly utilized.

In doing so, we paid attention to a diverse array so that every player and Dungeon Master can find something useful. We limited ourselves to the 5th edition while considering the new rulebooks (version 2024).

Of course, no item in Dungeons & Dragons is truly absolutely useless, as its usefulness primarily depends on how players use and incorporate it. Still, there are quite a few whose utility can initially be thoroughly questioned.

Wand of Smiles

  • Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, p. 140
  • Item on DnD Beyond

With this wand, you can make a humanoid target smile. Compulsively. If it fails its Charisma saving throw of 10. Otherwise, it is cursed to smile for 1 minute, whether it wants to or not.

The wand has 3 charges, which it can regenerate every day at dusk. If you use all of them in one day, you must roll a D20. On a 1, it turns into a Wand of Scowls. You can imagine what that can do.

But don’t worry, if you also use up the 3 charges for that wand, you can turn it back into a Wand of Smiles on a roll of 1. You’ll likely need a few tries for this.

Wand of Conduction

  • Dungeon Master’s Guide (2024), p. 319
  • Item on DnD Beyond

This wand allows you to become the conductor of an imaginary, yet quite loud orchestra. It has 3 charges, and you can use one of them in a magical action by waving it through the air.

When you do so, the music of an entire orchestra plays, which you can control (if the Dungeon Master allows you). The music can be heard in a radius of 120 feet (approx. 37 meters) and ends as soon as you stop moving the wand.

It regains all its charges every day at dusk. If you use the last charge of the day, you must roll a D20. If you roll a 1, a very sad tuba sound plays and the wand crumbles to dust.

To follow her doctor’s advice, a retiree plays Pokémon GO on 6 phones simultaneously

A retiree regularly goes out to Pokémon GO to do something for her health. She is equipped with a quite interesting setup.

Most activities in Pokémon GO require one important thing to participate efficiently: movement. Whether it’s to encounter as many monsters as possible, visit gyms and PokéStops, or hatch eggs.

A 72-year-old retiree is also regularly involved in Pokémon GO to engage in these activities. And she is not just using one smartphone – but six. For this, she has created a special device to manage all smartphones simultaneously.

Pokémon GO: What’s in the new Season Powerful and Masterful

A retiree, a device, 6 phones

Why does the retiree play? According to her own statement, her son told her about the game’s release and installed it on her smartphone. This was supposed to help her implement a doctor’s recommendation better: more movement.

The retiree, who previously worked as a music teacher in elementary school, has taken a liking to the game. So much so that she now plays on 6 smartphones simultaneously.

She does this to counteract the shorter wait times in the game – for example, after throwing a Pokéball and waiting to see if the monster was caught. While the Pokéball is shaking on one smartphone, she catches the next Pokémon on another smartphone in the meantime.

What kind of device is that? To avoid problems managing 6 smartphones while on the go, she has created her own small device. It consists of a wooden board on which all 6 smartphones can be plugged into appropriate cases.

She hangs this wooden board around her neck using a strap, which is also attached to the board. This way, she has the device in front of her and can efficiently manage all 6 smartphones.

You can see what this looks like in the following video:

How advanced are the retiree’s accounts? How far along the accounts are and how strong the retiree’s monsters are is unknown. In another video from WDR, notes can be seen on her wooden board indicating that she has accounts in different teams in Pokémon GO.

Additionally, on 2 of her smartphones, the levels of the corresponding accounts are visible: 48 and 49. The trainer should not have any problems completing more difficult raids in the game.

Regular events take place in Pokémon GO that provide you with various content. There will be quite a few in April 2025 as well. If you want to get an overview, feel free to check out our overview of all the events in April 2025 in Pokémon GO.

Influencers sign off for 7 days, fly to a remote island, and 7 vs. Wild could be behind it

Nothing is known about the new season 5 of 7 vs. Wild, but now influencers are saying goodbye for 7 days for a survival project. Fans of the series are speculating whether this could already be the filming of the new season.

Who has disappeared? First, YouTuber Kim “Caramella” (right in the thumbnail) has signed off from her fans. The lifestyle influencer explained to her fans in several stories on Instagram that she now has to say goodbye to them and her partner because she will be stranded for 7 days on a deserted island for a survival project (via Reddit).

Before and after the isolation, she will not be able to create new stories, and she was also not allowed to reveal which project she is participating in. The influencer has previously made several videos with ex-participant Julia Beautyx. On YouTube, more than 500,000 people follow her. But she is not the only one who has signed off.

Here you can learn more about the life of ex-candidate LetsHugo:

Start video
He dropped out of school because streaming was more important to him – The success of LetsHugo

Second influencer has signed off – Is 7 vs. Wild behind it?

Who else has signed off? YouTuber Heiko “CastCrafter” Husch (left in the thumbnail) has also signed off from his viewers in the stream. Following on YouTube, he has over 450,000 people who are excited about his Minecraft videos. As he explains in the clip (via Reddit), he is also going into a survival project for a week. He states that he is not allowed to say where he is going or what the project is called; however, according to him, it is not 7 vs. Wild.

CastCrafter also has a connection to 7 vs. Wild, as he has previously recorded several videos with ex-participant LetsHugo (via YouTube).

Is 7 vs. Wild behind it? Users on Reddit are also investigating this question and trying to identify possible departures based on the influencers’ last Instagram stories. On Reddit, user Chemical-Ask-7491 believes: “All US/Canada flights leave in the morning. Wherever it is going, it seems to be Africa, Asia, South America, or Europe.”

User Craftplorer also considers this possible on Reddit:

That Heiko/CastCrafter is participating makes the project at least a little more interesting. A jungle camp can probably be ruled out. A week on a deserted island (as suggested by Caramella) almost sounds a bit like season 1 of 7 vs. Wild – just with outdoor novices.

However, some users in the forum do not believe that the two influencers will be participants in the new season. The idea that the candidates are releasing so much information after the chases of previous years seems unbelievable to fans.

Sufficient_Speed_542 believes on Reddit that someone else is behind it: “I can somehow imagine an Otto project.” This refers to a video project by ex-7vs.Wild participant Ottogerd “Otto Bulletproof” Karasch, who continues to bring the fight for survival closer to influencers with his own productions like “Arctic Warrior” and “Desert Warrior” (via YouTube).

What is Fritz Meinecke doing in the meantime? While the participants must currently be in the middle of survival on their island, the series founder is cheerfully dedicating himself to his hobby: biking.

In his current stories on Instagram, he talks about his equipment and shows his bike. In the past, there were already suspicions that the head of the series is no longer involved in this year’s season and is only dedicating himself to biking: Fans believe Fritz Meinecke skips 7 vs. Wild and prefers to ride a bike

Player chases an NPC from Schedule I on Steam for a week, unveils its secret

In the Steam hit Schedule I, players also build relationships with their NPC customers. A gamer now wanted to know what his customers do all day. He discovered why they buy so much from him.

What’s the deal with the NPC? In Schedule I, customers text their vendors almost daily with a new order. Often, this is about quantities that sound concerning even for the dealers. Anyone taking 5–9 units of drugs every day must have quite a hectic day ahead or behind them.

That’s what Reddit user _inferno_44 probably thought as well, who followed his customer Kyle around for a week to learn what his daily routine looks like. Along the way, he also found out why the customer buys so much.

Here you can see the trailer for Schedule I:

Start video
Schedule I shows in the trailer what the simulation of criminal life looks like

A Hard Day’s Work

Why does he buy so much? As the Reddit user found out, NPC Kyle has a hard day at work.

  • He arrives at the fast food place Taco Ticklers at 7:00 AM and opens the store
  • Then he works until 12:30 PM
  • He takes a break at the skate park until 1:30 PM
  • Between 1:30 PM and 10:00 PM, he works again at Taco Ticklers
  • From 10:00 PM, he is home and sleeps before starting again at Taco Ticklers at 7:00 AM

This routine is what the NPC goes through every day, 7 days a week. The NPC works 14 hours a day and 98 hours per week. With such high working hours, it makes sense to players on Reddit why the NPC orders so many bulk items. Such a stressful double-shift life seems to be bearable in the game only with the help of illegal substances.

The exceedance of the maximum working hours might also be the fault of the player himself. In Schedule I, it is possible to acquire the fast food business to launder money. Kyle then continues to work there, and his working hours remain the same.

Do all NPCs work in Schedule I? No, the Reddit user also followed Kyle’s roommate Austin. He doesn’t have a job but doesn’t just sit at home all day:

  • Starting at 7:30 AM, Austin walks to the community center
  • He arrives there at 8:30 AM and chats until 10:30 AM
  • From 10:30 AM, he sits behind the community center
  • At 11:30 AM, he heads over to his roommate Kyle
  • At 1:00 PM, he has arrived at Taco Ticklers and has lunch there
  • At 1:45 PM, he walks to the arcade, where he plays from 3:00 PM
  • Between 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM, Austin drinks in front of the arcade
  • Only at 11:00 PM does he go home, where he arrives at midnight

Even as an apparently unemployed NPC, Austin experiences a varied day.

The fact that the NPCs in Schedule I have such a detailed weekly rhythm is a surprise to players on Reddit.

Many are familiar with such a system only from role-playing games like Kingdom Come Deliverance or Gothic, where NPCs also follow a daily routine and head to the tavern after a hard day. The fact that there is more to the NPCs of Schedule I than initially believed also applies to a dealer who could truthfully be an undercover cop: Players believe one of their most loyal dealers in Schedule 1 is a traitor

YouTubers have been showcasing MMORPGs from the perspective of an NPC for years, and they let you save their world in a new game – With a Fishing Rod

As part of the FYNG Show at Caggtus 2025, new information was released about the 2D fishing RPG Nice Day for Fishing on Steam. Although the game is being developed by a German indie studio, it is backed by a crazy YouTube crew that creates videos about the lives of NPCs.

What kind of game is it? The game is Nice Day for Fishing from the German indie studio FusionPlay. The 2D pixel art game will be released on May 29, 2025, by Team17. In the game, you take on the role of the fisherman Baelin, who must save his hometown Honeywood armed only with his fishing rod.

For more information about Nice Day for Fishing, you can read our news: In a new role-playing game on Steam, you must save the world from evil, and you have only one weapon: a powerful fishing rod

The release date was announced during the FYNG Show at Caggtus 2025, along with a greeting from the team behind the game: Viva la Dirt League. Hero Baelin and Honeywood are, in fact, their creations and important components of their popular parody YouTube channel.

To find out who exactly this crazy team is and what Baelin and Honeywood are all about, read this news.

New Trailer for Nice Day for Fishing Reveals Release Date

A crazy YouTube team wanted to know how NPCs fare in MMOs

Who is Viva La Dirt League? Viva La Dirt League is a YouTube channel established in 2011, which now has over 7 million subscribers. It was founded by Rowan Bettjeman, Alan Morrison, and Adam King. Initially, they published successful parody videos about Starcraft, later adding sketches about current gaming topics, including Flappy Bird and DayZ.

The Viva La Dirt League team has now considerably expanded. Recently, they produced a mini-series Witcher Logic, in which they humorously addressed the replacement of Witcher actor Henry Cavill with Liam Hemsworth at Netflix.

Additionally, there are video series about PUBG, Dark Souls, Red Dead Redemption, or Escape from Tarkov. And of course, Epic NPC Man, which is the inspiration for Nice Day for Fishing.

The annoying NPC with only one sentence is now also the protagonist

What is Nice Day for Fishing based on? Baelin and Honeywood are important elements of the video series Epic NPC Man. This series tells the story of the daily life of MMORPG NPC Greg from Honeywood, who regularly interacts with typical MMORPG players. The first video, When Players Skip an NPC’s Dialogue (via YouTube), was released in 2016. Other topics include bikini armor for female characters and stealth logic.

Baelin makes his first major appearance in the second video of the series (via YouTube): Here, he walks past Greg again and again, greeting him with the same phrase – Good morning, nice day for fishing, isn’t it?

From then on, he is a constant background character in the videos, making the absurd situations in the sketches even funnier with his context-free repetitive line. Initially, he has a supporting role with just this one statement, which mainly gets on Greg’s nerves. In 2021, Viva La Dirt League even gifted him his own movie (via YouTube).

Honeywood is the place where most of the Epic NPC Man videos take place. The village acts as a quest hub where many player characters are on the move between missions.

In Nice Day for Fishing, NPC Baelin is now the hero of his own story, with the grand task of saving Honeywood. However, it is still unknown whether he has more than just his one line in the game.

The head of FusionPlay says VLDL has wanted its own game for a long time

Recently, during FYNG Caggtus and the accompanying FYNG Show, new information about the game was shared. In a developer talk, Konrad Kunze, the managing director of FusionPlay, discussed the game and mentioned that they have been working closely with Viva La Dirt League on the game for four years.

The YouTubers had also long wanted their own game. However, since they wanted a whole MMORPG, it has not happened until today. The concept of Nice Day for Fishing from FusionPlay convinced them, among other things, because it sounded feasible.

You can watch the entire gaming session on the GameStar Twitch channel as part of the stream from April 11, 2025. The segment starts at around 9 hours and 16 minutes. The link will take you directly there.

FYNG Caggtus is live today, April 12, and April 13, 2025, on Twitch via the GameStar channel. During yesterday’s show, there were also many other cool announcements: Besides Nice Day for Fishing, Hänno introduced his new game via video message, and there was gameplay for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2. Our MMORPG expert explains on Twitch what the genre is currently missing

During the streaming event FYNG Caggtus, our MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz and our editor-in-chief Leya Jakowski discussed the current state of the genre. Among WoW killers and Asian games, they explain what the genre is currently lacking.

What kind of talk is this? The trio talk took place during the streaming event Find Your Next Game Caggtus on April 13, 2025, in Leipzig. In it, host Julius Jules Busch speaks with MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski and MeinMMO MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz about the current state of the genre.

They discuss the WoW killers that ultimately failed, the latest MMORPGs from around the world, and the games everyone is waiting for. Additionally, they focus on what an MMORPG actually needs to be successful.

You can watch the complete talk here:

MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz and MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski discuss the current state of MMORPGs

Unfortunately, not much is coming this year – Yet the expert has hope

What are the promising games? After the introduction, MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz talks about the hopes for the genre that are expected to be released in the coming years. Unfortunately, only one game has been announced for 2025: Chrono Odyssey.

Karsten comments on this situation by saying, “Unfortunately, not much is coming this year.” And that is exactly the problem of the genre: “The flagship projects are missing.” The last bigger releases like Lost Ark or New World have never reached the heights of Final Fantasy XIV or even WoW.

However, the expert is very excited about the unique time feature of the one major release for 2025: As a player in Chrono Odyssey, you move through different time levels – present, future, and past. His red flag is that so far there have only been closed focus group tests. Editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski agrees: The time feature especially makes her ponder.

The three discuss these games, even though it will take longer than the end of 2025 for their release:

  • Aion 2
  • ArcheAge Chronicles
  • Stars Reach
  • Ashes of Creation
  • Lord-of-the-Rings MMORPG by Amazon
  • Warhammer MMO
  • League-of-Legends MMO

The first two MMORPGs on the list, Aion 2 and ArcheAge Chronicles, are both expected to be released in the next 24 months. The release dates for the rest are still far in the future and partially uncertain.

However, they all fundamentally have high potential, and while the MeinMMO editor-in-chief often reacts somewhat skeptical, Karsten Scholz is generally optimistic.

If you want to know exactly how the current status of the individual games is, you can watch the video above. If you are eager for more talks with our editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski or simply in the mood for expert insights on the open world of GTA 6, you could be very happy here: Is GTA 6 achieving the perfect open world? “Has Never Happened Before” – A Game Was So Good That the Entire Staff at Nintendo Played It and Even Convincing the Strict Boss

Hiroshi Yamauchi, the former head of Nintendo, was not necessarily known for his generous nature. However, one game impressed him so much that he supported it.

The title image is a symbolic image by Joey Velasquez via Pixabay.

Which game is it? We are talking about Tetris, the ultimate gaming classic. Worldwide, the franchise has reportedly sold over 520 million units. However, nothing hinted at that when Henk Rogers, whose company marketed the rights to Tetris, approached the head of Nintendo at that time to ask for his help.

On April 1, 2025, Rogers’ memoirs were published under the title “The Perfect Game—Tetris: From Russia With Love.” In it, he provides readers with insights into the tumultuous history behind the gaming classic.

Rogers was, alongside Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, one of the key figures in the early history of the game.

Start video
He created a legendary game, but didn’t get paid for it – Today he’s still a millionaire

A “Nintendo Seal of Quality” was almost created for Tetris

What a story it was! At that time, Rogers was living in Japan and had managed to build a relationship with the then head of Nintendo, Hiroshi Yamauchi. Both shared a passion for the board game Go.

So, when Rogers was having trouble distributing Tetris, he turned to the Nintendo boss. In an interview with PC Gamer, he explained: “I went to Mr. Yamauchi because I felt I needed a minimum order quantity of 200,000 [cartridges] for the game to be a hit.”

However, the distributors of Tetris had only managed to reach 40,000 orders. Nonetheless, Rogers was convinced he had “one of the greatest games of all time.” Therefore, he asked the Nintendo head if he was doing something wrong and what he could change to make Tetris a success.

Yamauchi had taken over the then-playing card manufacturer Nintendo in 1949 and was instrumental in turning the company into the gaming giant we know today. Until his retirement in 2002, Yamauchi was known for ruling Nintendo with an iron fist – but he was also aware of the importance of innovation and quality.

As Rogers recounts, the Nintendo chief consulted the legendary developer Shigeru Miyamoto and asked him if Tetris was indeed such a good game. Miyamoto affirmed this, prompting Yamauchi to inquire how he was so sure. The answer from the creator of Zelda sealed Tetris’ fate:

“Well, because all of your secretaries and accountants are playing it during their lunch breaks and after work, and that has never happened before.”

Following this, Yamauchi instructed Managing Director Hiroshi Imaishi to give Tetris a “Nintendo seal of quality” and also to call every retailer, demanding they order more units.

Ultimately, the seal did not come to fruition, as Imaishi would have had to assemble an entire team to determine which games would deserve such a seal. However, he began contacting retailers – and the rest is gaming history.

While Tetris is a great game, it is not necessarily known for a deep plot. However, the story behind the development of the gaming classic is a real thriller. The dark story behind Tetris is getting a movie – I can hardly believe what went on

Does GTA 6 Achieve the Perfect Open World? Here’s What Our Experts Say

As part of FYNG Caggtus, MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski and Heiko Klinge, the editor-in-chief of GameStar, engaged in the big open-world talk. On one hand, it was about what makes a good open world. On the other hand, the question arose whether GTA 6 will accomplish exactly that.

What is the open-world talk? As part of FYNG Caggtus 2025, MeinMMO editor Leya Jankowski and GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge, along with host Julius Jules Busch, tackled the challenging topic of open worlds.

In the beginning, the question was what makes a good open world. Ultimately, they debated whether the highly anticipated GTA 6 will meet these high expectations.

You can catch the complete talk here:

Start video
As part of FYNG Caggtus, three experts discuss the perfect open world and the expectations for GTA 6

The experts hope for good design, role-playing, and control

What do the experts say about GTA 6? An important point for GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge is especially the mission design of GTA 6. He is very confident that the open world of GTA 6 will once again be very detailed. He also expects a lot of attention to detail.

He hopes that the game will answer positively for him: How much do I get a sense of the open world during the actual game and as the narrative develops? He also states, I hope that GTA 6 will combine the credibility of the world with what GTA 3 or Vice City offered in terms of sandbox.

The role-playing aspect is especially important for our Leya Jankowski. As an example, she cites the story of the streamer Sodapoppin. He had opened a burger restaurant in GTA Online and had to close it because the role-playing became too close to reality. You can read Sodapoppin’s entire story here: Twitch streamer quits GTA 5 RP because played job becomes reality: “It’s brutal”

Host Julius Busch mentions that some developers are afraid to give players control. As an example, he refers to being able to put a car bomb in a car in GTA 3, starting the associated mission only then, and simply blowing up the car to complete the mission. He hopes for more freedoms in GTA 6.

Overall, all three participants in the talk are positive that Rockstar Games will unite everything it has learned thus far into what will likely be a very good open world for GTA 6.

What else was discussed in the talk? Especially at the beginning of the talk, the three participants discuss various good open worlds. Mentioned are Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and No Man’s Sky.

It is important for Heiko Klinge, for example, that the world does not stand still. Specifically, he says: A good open world always gives you the feeling that it continues to live and exists, even when you are not there.

He praises Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for this and tells how he accidentally left his horse Pebbles behind during a playthrough, which he ultimately could not get back. It would have been worth it to remain loyal to the mare.

MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski, on the other hand, raves about the world in Monster Hunter Wilds. She is particularly enamored with being able to explore areas and simply find and fight monsters in their natural habitat.

He convinced his 75-year-old father to play Red Dead Redemption and shows that age doesn’t matter

A gamer got his 75-year-old father to play the Western adventure Red Dead Redemption on Steam and realizes a year later that it was the right decision.

How did this happen? As the user SlightWerewolf4428 explains in a post on Reddit, his father grew up during the heyday of the Western genre. As a child, he would go on outings with his father, who excitedly told him stories about the colorful personalities of the Wild West.

The player says: He is one of the few people who finds Red Dead Redemption 1 even better than its successor. When he first played the game, he immediately knew it had to be the right game for his father (via Vida Extra).

With the Steam release of the Western adventure in 2024, it was finally time: He bought the game for his father, his brother gave him a controller, and off the 75-year-old went.

Even years after its release, players are still discovering new things in Red Dead Redemption 2:

Start video
This grave in Red Dead Redemption 2 is said to contain a great secret according to fans

For him, it was the right decision to introduce the game to his father

This was the gaming experience: As SlightWerewolf4428 reports, the beginning was a bit rocky. His father first had to get used to the controller controls. He set up WhatsApp and Steam-Broadcast to be able to help his father.

He explained to his father in a video call where the triggers were on the controller and how they worked, how he could shoot from cover, and encouraged him to use some more functions.

After some time, however, his father started to play more independently, completed missions, and handled some dangerous situations. At the time of writing the post, the 75-year-old was already very close to the end of the game, without knowing it.

And did he enjoy it? Apparently yes. The gamer says he checked if his father was following the story and that he remembered all the names and had a similar impression of the characters as he did.

SlightWerewolf4428 concludes: “At this point, I think it’s pretty much certain that he loves the game, more than I could have hoped, but I knew he would.” For him, it was the right decision to introduce the game to his father.

Now, however, the gamer faces a completely different problem: it’s only a matter of time before his father will want to play Red Dead Redemption 2 as well, but he’s not sure if his PC would be suitable for it.

Time and again, it shows that gaming is a surprisingly good medium to connect families – even over long times and great distances. We have such a story here on MeinMMO for you: WoW connects families for 20 years: “They always have their perfect 5-player group”

A player paid 3,000 euros for a gaming PC – Today he only gets 800 euros for it and warns: ‘Computers are not an investment’

Players discuss the purchase of gaming hardware. And many realize: Those who invested heavily in their PC many years ago have very little left today. Because PC hardware becomes outdated in just a few years.

A gaming PC is not exactly a cheap endeavor, at least not if you want to see games in the best quality. Especially for graphics cards, prices have surged in recent years: For a mid-range graphics card, you now have to spend at least 500 euros.

Many players are now looking back at their spending on their hardware and realize that much of it is worth significantly less today than it was before.

In Germany, there are over 400 USB sticks protruding from walls – What is the ‘Dead Drops’ project?

High investments in hardware that is hardly worth anything years later

A player reports on Reddit that he built a new gaming PC during the Corona pandemic (around 2019 – 2023): He invested around 3,000 US dollars and bought only the best of the best. Just to find out that he can now get at most 800 US dollars for it:

I spent about $3,000 on my PC at the height of the pandemic. Specialized water cooling, the best of the best, everything. I could maybe get $800 for it now? Computers are not an investment. Have fun with them and use them as long as possible.

Other users also express similar experiences, explaining that they have encountered the same issue. A player who spent 1,800 US dollars on his gaming PC at the time stated that he could sell his gaming PC today for at most 1,000 US dollars.

Hardware evolves very quickly, and today’s products are outdated tomorrow

Rapidly evolving hardware: The problem is that hardware is constantly evolving: Almost every year, manufacturers like AMD, Intel, and Nvidia release new graphics cards and processors, and new standards regularly change what hardware is allowed for specific tasks: While DDR4 was still standard for RAM a few years ago, today it is already DDR5.

Moreover, certain features are only available exclusively for new hardware models, and one would have to forgo these on older hardware. As a result, prices on the used market also drop. Hardly anyone is willing to spend thousands of euros on a graphics card that lacks important features like FSR or DLSS: For example, you can only use FSR 4.0 with AMD’s RX 9000 series, while certain functions of DLSS 4.0 are reserved for the RTX 5000 series.

The rapidly evolving hardware also raises the question for players of how frequently they need to upgrade or enhance their hardware to keep up with technology. You can check with us at MeinMMO how often you need to upgrade your graphics card: How often should you upgrade your graphics card if you want to play all the top titles on Steam?

Gen Z is currently excited about golf and tennis – But the boomers wish they would just disappear

Golf and tennis were long seen as sports for rich old men. But now Generation Z is pushing onto the courts. The Boomers are far from thrilled about it.

Golf and tennis are considered the sports of old white men. However, in recent years, many sports, including golf and tennis, have seen a significant rise in popularity. According to the National Golf Foundation, the number of people who have visited a driving range, a golf course, or consumed golf content has increased by 30% since 2016:

  • Almost 1.5 million more people than the average of previous years – a total of 3.4 million – played golf for the first time in 2023.
  • The highest increase is among adults aged 18 to 34.
  • Golf has become especially interesting for young women: 37% of golfers under 18 were female in 2023, compared to only 15% in 2000.

Ironically, things like exclusivity are becoming increasingly attractive to Generation Z. To the dismay of the Boomers, who have previously dominated golf and would like to continue doing so.

Young people play golf because they want the ‘old money’ feeling

Why has golf suddenly become so exciting? It’s because more and more young people are interested in money, wealth, and power: Two-thirds of Generation Z and almost three-quarters of Millennials stated in a Harris poll 2024 (PDF) that they want to be billionaires.

And standing on the golf course in a plaid shirt with a martini is, for many young people, a hallmark of prosperity. For many young people, money is also a way to become socially more independent: Many newcomers to the golf course are eager to reach a new level of wealth. Conquering the golf course is the first step to conquering the boardroom.

And then there’s the ‘old money’ feeling and the aesthetics that many feel drawn to. However, there are already people saying: The atmosphere of old money fades when thousands of young people flood the courses.

“We have created a monster” – A Spanish model earns up to 10,000 euros a month, yet she is not real

The older generation is not thrilled about the young generation on the golf course

What do the Boomers have to say about this? The English-language magazine Business Insider interviewed Chris Jenkins, a 53-year-old golfer. He has been playing golf for over 30 years and longs for the quiet days before Generation Z stormed the golf courses: Without loud music, with a strict dress code, and especially with the chance to actually play golf:

I admit it, I am the proverbial “get off my lawn” type. We can’t get tee times, and the rounds now take 5 ½ hours. We blame them all.

(…)

Sneakers on the course, music – I don’t like it. There are people who say: “Oh, you’re such a country club snob”, and frankly, yes.

To avoid the chaos of Generation Z, Jenkins has joined forces with other golfers in private clubs, where they can enjoy their peace to practice their “gentleman sport” in peace. If it were up to him, it would stay that way, but he admits that his generation is at the end of its line: “I get it, my generation is on the way out. But that doesn’t mean I have to like it.”

A French authority has examined the consumption behavior of the population. It found that older people love linear television, while young people are hardly interested in it anymore. This is also a long-term challenge for companies that have primarily relied on linear TV: Boomers love it, Gen Z can’t relate: Young people pose a major challenge to an entire sector

A new MMO sounds like The Division with zombies, which The Day Before should have been

The first-person shooter PIONER is set to be released in 2025 for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox. The first trailers look good, and interviews sound promising. The developer team emphasizes the parallels to The Division.

What kind of game is it? PIONER has been in development since 2021, and currently, a team of about 75 people is working on the shooter.

It is a first-person shooter with MMO and RPG elements. The focus is on a world consisting of 5 large maps and a rich variety of loot and monsters.

A release is planned for the second half of 2025.

PIONER – Trailer for the post-apocalyptic open-world game

New MMO hope after The Day Before disappointed

What does this have to do with The Division? Many players who enjoyed The Division praised the dark atmosphere of the series, but wished for supernatural enemies, maybe zombies, so that The Division plays in a similar scenario to World War Z.

PIONER takes place in such a post-apocalyptic world with numerous monsters, including creatures that resemble zombies.

The game “The Day Before” had a similar vibe and created immense anticipation; it was even the most wished-for game on Steam, but it disappointed the high expectations.

As The Division 2 is only being developed sparingly and The Division 3 is still early in development, there is a high demand for a title in this direction.

The developers themselves compare the PvP part of their game in an interview to the Dark Zone from The Division, but point out that there are some differences (via mmorpg.pl).

Developers say all the right things

What speaks for the game? The developers say that while there will be microtransactions, they will be purely cosmetic. They will also ensure to maintain the dark tone of the game.

Furthermore, the developers emphasize that they know how important content updates are after release. They plan with seasons, large patches, and DLCs to expand the story and game world.

Additionally, it will be possible to play large parts of the campaign in coop mode, though not all. You can read more about PIONER here: A new MMORPG shooter for PS5, Xbox, and Steam brings hope for exciting shooting and looting

The 5 Best Abilities from World of Warcraft

There are many spells and abilities in World of Warcraft. However, these 5 spells simply feel great when used.

World of Warcraft is praised for many things, including the combat system. Although “Tab Targeting” is somewhat outdated, the abilities in WoW have a very special feel that has always been well generated by the designers. Every ability feels “heavy,” and no matter which spell one casts, the impact can be felt.

Of course, there are spells and abilities that do this a little better than others, and with which one feels significantly more powerful than with others. Here we present the five abilities with the best gameplay feel.

This is not about numerical values – which spell produces the largest number on the screen – but simply about which ability feels the best.

For this list, we have used spells and abilities that still exist in the current version of World of Warcraft – specifically the ongoing expansion “The War Within”.

Void Eruption

Class: Priest (Shadow)

With Legion, Void Eruption was introduced, and even though it has lost some of its shine, it is still one of the most fulfilling spells in World of Warcraft.

During Void Eruption, the priest rises into the air and levitates slightly above the ground, while numerous shadow bolts fly towards the current target.

This eruption triggers the Voidform – an enhanced Shadowform that grants access to new spells and deals more damage. These new spells also allow the shadow priest to be a bit more mobile and cast some spells while moving (like Void Bolt). Although this is just a temporary bonus, it can make a significant difference in certain fights.

WoW Void Eruption Ability

Especially cool: The longer you manage to maintain Voidform, the more tentacles sprout from your body, while whispers of the Void can be heard, continuing until you ultimately leave Voidform.

There is no other ability in the game that embodies the madness and the euphoria of the Void as much as Void Eruption.

„0 % Chance, dass ich es spiele“ – The new shooter from the makers of Destiny 2 is facing a big problem

Bungie has shown the first gameplay of their new shooter Marathon and the community is divided. However, even players who like what they see are facing a problem.

How is Marathon currently being discussed? Opinions are currently widely varied. Some cannot relate to the art style and character design at all, while others are put off by the genre, as Marathon will be an Extraction Shooter.

On MeinMMO, we have examined the presentation of Marathon more closely and lively discussions also took place in our comments. Here are some reactions from our readers:

  • EsmaraldV speaks of a successful debut: “[…] The art style is so well done that I find it simply magnificent – I cannot understand the criticism in any way. I personally find very few points of criticism graphically as well. The game/gunplay looks stable, but of course, it needs to be tested. The setting, the mysterious story/storytelling, the characters….. WOW! […]”
  • 5kullCOD sees it quite differently: “It doesn’t look cool. I find it way too colorful, overloaded, and colors like yellow and green stand out extremely. There is something written everywhere, even if it’s just a huge number. The design, from my perspective, is garbage. […]”
  • Direwolf is somewhere in between: “[…] I think the art style is really awesome. Unfortunately, as an Extraction Shooter, it’s not for me. I don’t understand the hype around this genre. […]”

However, Bungie currently has a tough standing in the community. Our editor-in-chief Schuhmann has followed the development of Destiny for years and says: “Bungie could release the best game in the world right now, and the comments would still be negative. I think everyone understands how it has been recently.”

Regardless of the actual content, Marathon has another problem: the release date. Because Marathon intends to release on September 23, 2025 – alongside the highly anticipated loot shooter Borderlands 4.

Start video
Bungie shows first gameplay of Marathon in trailer

Users believe: Bold strategy from Bungie

What is the problem? Due to the simultaneous release, Marathon will be in direct competition with Borderlands 4 – and as a loot shooter focused on PvE, the title is actually significantly more attractive for fans of Destiny 2.

Additionally, Marathon – like Destiny 2 – will not be Free2Play at launch. However, many players will probably only buy one of the two games at launch.

The developer EpicNNG states on X:

It’s such a shame that Bungie is dropping Marathon on the same day as Borderlands 4. The game looks good, but there’s a 0% chance I’ll play it before BL4. Sorry Bungie.

Another user says: “40 $ – 70 $… On the same day as Borderlands 4… In the same season as GTA 6 / rumored to be 100 $ – 120 $) and the 450 $ – 600 $ Switch 2… with their 80-dollar games… In a market where it is the norm for pure PvP games to be F2P… Bold strategy, Bungie, we’ll see how that works out.” (via X)

Why are they doing this? As Destiny expert Paul Tassi writes, Bungie may have actually thought something through regarding the choice of release date. Because it is generally assumed that the release of GTA 6 in the fall of 2025 will overshadow everything else – even the biggest publishers want to avoid the gaming giant.

Since both Borderlands 4 and GTA 6 belong to Take-Two, it can be assumed that the two games are scheduled in such a way that they do not interfere with each other. Bungie may have positioned itself against Borderlands to avoid conflicts with GTA 6. However, it is probably clear to everyone that this is also not ideal. Expert Tassi summarizes on X: “No matter how you slice it, it’s wrong.”

Some players are already predicting a similar fate for Marathon as Concord, probably the most painful gaming flop of 2024. Our editor-in-chief Schuhmann analyzed the factors leading to the failure of the Sony shooter here for you: Why did Concord fail so badly on Steam and PS5, and did Sony waste 250 million $ on a woke catastrophe?

Last Epoch shows the patch notes for Season 2, improves one of its best systems and excites fans

Last Epoch is considered competition for Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4. However, due to PoE 2, its second season was postponed. Now the official patch notes are out, and they excite the players.

Last Epoch is seen as a popular action RPG and is considered competition for other hack ‘n’ slash games. The second season was supposed to be live a long time ago, but the developers postponed their season to avoid Path of Exile 2.

Now, they have released the patch notes for the second season. The developers mainly focus on crafting and endgame content.

Last Epoch: Trailer for Season 2 of the Diablo Competitor

Improved crafting and completely new endgame content for Last Epoch

What content does the update bring? The second season “Tombs of the Erased” introduces another faction into the game, called the Weavers. With the new faction, you can buy new special missions, referred to as Woven Echoes. These significantly expand the endgame of Last Epoch. The Woven Echoes grant you access to a variety of new areas with challenges, objectives, and even boss fights. Players have already shown excitement about the Weavers in Last Epoch in advance.

Additionally, the crafting system “legendary potential” is being adjusted: In the Temporal Sanctum in Last Epoch, you can craft legendary items. After defeating the dungeon boss and reaching the next room, you will see the “Eternity Short,” where you can craft legendary items. Here, you can combine uniques with “exalted” items (purple). The uniques must have “legendary potential” for this.

The developers are now adjusting the system and simplifying it with the next update. The game will now offer you the option to guaranteed choose a value when transferring an item to the unique.

Furthermore, the “Sentinel” class is being revamped. It has long been considered unpopular among players and is therefore receiving a significant overhaul.

Additionally, you can now reset your chosen subclass at the Chronomancer Lerinne for a certain amount of money. This allows you to customize your characters more flexibly and try out more builds.

Since its release about a year ago, Last Epoch has lost a significant portion of its players, as the ARPG was long celebrated by many as a potential competitor to Diablo 4. With Season 2, they hope to bring back the lost players. Whether that works will be seen on April 19, 2025, at the Season’s release: Player numbers for the major competitor of Diablo 4 have fallen sharply on Steam – Can Season 2 bring the players back now?

A former employee of Mark Zuckerberg claims that Meta has secretly helped China since 2015: ‘Meta has lied to the USA and its workers’

Facebook withdrew from the Chinese market many years ago. An insider claims that Meta collaborated with China for years to harm the USA. However, Meta categorically rejects these allegations as outdated and unrealistic.

For years, Facebook was interested in the huge market in China to establish a better position there. However, the plans failed, and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, withdrew from China.

Now, former Facebook employee Sarah Wynn-Williams has stated that Facebook allegedly collaborated with China for years. Wynn-Williams was the Director of Global Public Policy at Facebook from 2011 to 2017. And her allegations are quite serious. In her book “Careless People,” Wynn-Williams makes heavy accusations against the corporation and its top executives. Meanwhile, Meta is taking legal action against the insider’s book.

She claims that Meta attempts to “undermine the national security of the USA and betray American values” in order to “gain favor with Beijing and build an 18 billion dollar business in China.” The English-language magazine ArsTechnica quotes the author as saying:

Meta was willing to compromise its values, sacrifice the safety of its users, and undermine American interests to build its business in China. This has been going on for years, covered up by lies, and continues to this day. I am here [before Congress] at considerable personal risk because you have the power and authority to hold them accountable.

On April 9, 2025, she was heard with her allegations before the US Congress.

Meta: Allegations are outdated and completely unrealistic

How does Facebook/Meta respond? Meta defends itself and stated that Wynn-Williams’s book contains “false accusations” and claims that are “outdated and have been reported previously.”

In 2019, Mark Zuckerberg gave a speech admitting that Facebook never made a deal with China and that Meta was never really allowed into China. At that time, Wynn-Williams had already left the company, which is why Meta accuses her that her statements have nothing to do with reality.

Meta’s spokesperson Andy Stone stated that Meta has not offered its services in China for a while (via arstechnica.com):

While Mark Zuckerberg himself publicly spoke about our interest in offering our services in China, and details were reported over a decade ago, it is a fact: We do not offer our services in China today.

Mark Zuckerberg and his company Meta have been investing in the metaverse for years. Now, Meta has internally informed employees: This year will go down in history. They will either achieve great success, or the project will fail: Mark Zuckerberg is going all-in: Either his metaverse will succeed in 2025, or it will fail miserably

I have played an alternative to Pokémon for over 200 hours and after 8 years the long-awaited sequel finally arrives

MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes grew up with Pokémon like many in his age, but the recent games did not convince him. However, the perfect alternative from the competition finally gets a sequel after 8 years.

In my circle of friends, it was usually said: Pokémon has the better games and Digimon has the better anime. I agreed for a long time, especially since I still find the third season of the anime fantastic. As a teenager, the cool, edgy designs of the digital monsters were simply more appealing.

On the other hand, I devoured the Pokémon games. I played Pokémon Emerald at least 8 times. But at some point, the games became increasingly trivial, and Scarlet and Violet were a huge disappointment for me.

After I had almost forgotten about Digimon, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth was released in 2015 and completely consumed me. It was only on the PS4 and 2 years later as a duo with the spin-off Hackers Memory that I invested over 200 hours into the RPG on the Nintendo Switch. There was a long silence regarding a sequel.

But then, at the State of Play 2025, Digimon Story Time Stranger was announced and I was overjoyed. I will explain to you why you should be more excited about it than the new Pokémon after the trailer.

Start video
Digimon Story Time Stranger: English Trailer for the Anime Game

The best of Pokémon and Persona

What makes the Digimon Story series so good? Like Pokémon, the Digimon Story series is a monster collecting game. In Time Strangers, you will be able to catch over 450 Digimon. Unlike in Pokémon, where the creatures have fixed evolutionary paths (sometimes 2), Digimon relies on entire digitization trees.

A Digimon can evolve into multiple Digimon if certain conditions are met. At the same time, you can also devolve Digimon. This is important for unlocking new Digimon, but also for fulfilling specific conditions. Sometimes you can only increase a value after evolving and then devolving the Digimon.

This reminds me of the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. I love spending hours in the evolution and improvement menu, contemplating what to do next.

A lot of fun comes from the quirky designs of the Digimon. They don’t just look like cute animals, but often resemble Legos, muscular dinosaurs, or sexy angels. You have to appreciate this design philosophy, but the contrast between, this is the coolest design ever and what kind of beast is that, sparks my desire to explore.

The beauty of leveling up also lies in the comfort features. You can speed up the turn-based combat and ensure that you can level up and digitize quickly without having to endure an incredible amount of time and tedious battles.

The sequel looks promising, seems to address weaknesses

Why am I so excited for a sequel? Cyber Sleuth and Hackers Memory also had weaknesses. Since you are only traveling in a digital world, there is hardly any variation apart from occasionally visiting Tokyo. However, in the Time Strangers trailer, you can see more diverse areas; I think we will see more of the Digiworld.

This also opens up more opportunities for the story. Although we see another city, there is also a glimpse of a possible Digimon invasion.

Another promising aspect: More Digimon means I can grind more digitizations, and team building will also be expanded.

Unlike in Pokémon, you always fight with 3 Digimon on the field. Some abilities are also based on this, which expands team building.

But there is also a small disappointment: The game doesn’t really look better than its predecessor after 8 years. While the cel-shading anime look is timeless, I still would have wished for a jump in quality. At least the Digimon look crisper and more detailed in comparison.

However, it is still unclear when exactly the game will be released. It has only been announced that it will be released sometime in 2025. Are you looking forward to the game or do you not care about Digimon? Feel free to tell us in the comments. MeinMMO editor Benedikt Grothaus would probably be more excited about a new Monster Rancher: A forgotten RTL2 anime outshines Digimon

A player has apparently just discovered to which great Old One you sell your soul as a Warlock in Baldur’s Gate 3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you can choose a special subclass for the Warlock: “The Great Old One.” A player has now claimed to have figured out who is behind it.

What kind of subclass is this? Players who want to play the Warlock in Baldur’s Gate can currently choose from 3 subclasses, with a 4th class coming with Patch 8:

  • With the Devil subclass, you make a pact with a demon or devil in exchange for powerful abilities.
  • The Archfey subclass involves a pact with a powerful fairy creature.
  • The new subclass Hexblade, which is added with Update 8, grants powers in exchange for an arrangement with a creature from the mysterious Shadowfell.
  • In the last subclass, “The Great Old One,” you enter into a pact with an ancient being. However, it is not revealed who this being is.

The description of the last subclass, “The Great Old One,” is as follows:

You have promised something inconceivably to an unspeakably ancient being – which has in turn equipped you with powers of cerebral entropy and control.

There are numerous potential ancient entities that could fit here, but an observant player believes they have identified the “Great Old One” involved in this deal.

Larian introduces the new subclasses in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 – Here is Part 1 with Cleric, Barbarian, Bard, and Druid

The Great Old One could be a member of the Drow Pantheon

Which being is it? A player on Reddit believes they have figured it out. ElectricArrow456 presents a simple theory based on the dialogue with Gale after the game.

They describe a unique dialogue option where a Warlock mentions the English phrase “He Who Lurks,” which translates to “That which lurks.” This phrase is attributed to Ghaunadaur, a greater god of abominations, oozes, and outcasts.

Ghaunadaur is a member of the Drow Pantheon and is described by Lolth as “older than the time of Ao.” However, whether the dialogue actually refers to Ghaunadaur or is general enough for players to envision any deity is unknown.

Larian has announced the release for Update 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3. However, some players are already “complaining” that they now have to restart their run. But another issue concerns players: What about popular mods that the community actively uses: Larian surprises fans with the release of Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, players grumble: “Just started anew”

In the latter, our MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz will also have the streaming honor.

Here you can see the complete program:

Now we’ll let you in on one of our success secrets: crazy ideas! So just trying things that sound too crazy to work. Like building a scale model paper craft castle as a special magazine supplement. Or shooting a video for the Switch 2 overnight in a hotel room.

Or indeed putting together our own big live stream event with Find Your Next Game. The idea was born almost five years ago, when E3 was canceled due to the Corona pandemic. And we thought: then we’ll just organize our own fair party!

Fortunately, the pandemic times are over now, but FYNG has remained. And it has become as big as we couldn’t even dream of back in 2020. Four times a year we now celebrate our big live stream party, and the next bash is just around the corner.

From April 11 to April 13, we will celebrate Find Your Next Game live from the CAGGTUS in Leipzig.

From April 11 to 13, we celebrate Find Your Next Game Caggtus in Leipzig

What is Find Your Next Game?

Find Your Next Game (abbreviated: FYNG) is our big live event series with which we aim to bring you that special feeling of visiting a trade fair right into your living room. Of course, the focus is always on games, technology, and entertainment, but we also care about more: communities, exchanges with like-minded people, expert discussions, and a healthy dose of nonsense. All of this live and without a safety net.

If you’re at the CAGGTUS in Leipzig, you can of course experience all of this live on site as well. We are currently building the largest booth in FYNG history with plenty of seating. Stop by, we look forward to your visit!

FYNG Show with over 20 premieres

A year ago we had another crazy idea: wouldn’t it be cool to create an editorial showcase? So not a constant barrage of advertising trailers, but a show where the editorial teams of GameStar, GamePro, and MeinMMO decide what is shown and what is not.

A show where our focus is on real gameplay. A show where developers and our experts from the editorial teams authentically get a chance to speak. A show that truly comes from the heart, and hopefully you can see that too.

Our FYNG Show at CAGGTUS starts on Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m.

Look forward to news, trailer premieres, and never before seen gameplay of 27 exciting games, hosted by AK and Maurice Weber. We may even have a world premiere or two up our sleeves. Don’t expect Half-life 3 or GTA 6, but we are pretty sure that by the end of the show you will discover many new cool games that you might have missed without FYNG. And that is exactly the idea.

The FYNG highlights from Friday to Sunday

In total, we are planning over 26 hours of live stream programming for you. Here are our broadcast times:

  • Friday, April 11 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 12 – 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 13 – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Of course, we don’t want to and can’t reveal everything yet, but here’s a little taste:

  • We are launching a new show format with our friends from Doctor Froid as star guests.
  • We are playing live the spring hopefuls Titan Quest 2, Commandos Origins, Roadraft, and Tempest Rising.
  • We are discussing the current status of the German gaming industry with game developers.

If you can’t join us live, no problem. We will also publish a large part of the program as separate videos on GameStar, GamePro, MeinMMO, and our YouTube channels. Also look forward to exclusive previews of the new announcements from our FYNG Show!

Live on GameStar, Twitch, and Steam

As usual, you can follow Find Your Next Game on our websites GameStar.de, GamePro.de, and MeinMMO.de, as well as on our Twitch channel

We are also broadcasting the FYNG Show on Friday on the GameStar YouTube channel

This year we are celebrating a very special premiere: for the first time, Steam will broadcast almost our entire program live on its platform. So if any of you open your Steam library over the weekend, you might spot one or the other familiar face in the streaming window.

In addition, there will be a separate Steam page for the FYNG Show. There you will not only find our stream but also an organized list of all the titles of the show along with personalized selections based on your gaming preferences and, if available, playable demos.

Our Steam page goes live on April 10, when we will explain in a separate article how everything works.

For us, the Steam feature is a real accolade that shows how relevant our former crazy idea has become.

We are extremely excited about our biggest show yet. And of course, we look forward to seeing you, no matter where you watch us from!
