What kind of event is this? The Dynamax battle day is an event where a Dynamax or Gigantamax monster is the focus and can be found at all power sources. On Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, it will take place again and bring you Gigantamax Machamp.
During the event, you can not only receive 8 times the amount of Dynamax particles from power sources, but also collect a total of 1,600 particles. In addition, you can perform 2 additional special trades during the event.
From 12:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you will also receive double the amount of particles from walking and only have to cover 1/4 of the usual walking distance to receive the particles.
4 Tips for Fighting Gigantamax Machamp
1. Tip: Use the best counters against Machamp
Which attackers are suitable? To deal proper damage to Machamp, you should have the best counters ready. Machamp is a Fighting type and thus has weaknesses against Fairy, Flying, and Psychic type attacks.
The strongest monster against Machamp is currently Dynamax Metagross with its instant attack Zen Headbutt. If you have a Metagross, you should definitely bring it along.
Alternatively, you can resort to Moltres or Charizard in their Dynamax forms with Wing Attack as an instant attack. Charizard in its Gigantamax form is stronger than the Dynamax form, but does not have a Dynamax attack of the Flying type.
Which defenders are suitable? As defenders, you can rely on the following monsters:
- Dynamax Venusaur
- Dynamax Blastoise
- Dynamax Raikou
- Dynamax Zapdos
- Dynamax Gortrom
2. Tip: Plan the strategy
To defeat Gigantamax Machamp, you need to rely on some trainers. 4 trainers can form a team in a Dynamax battle. Coordinate within your team who takes which role.
It makes little sense for all trainers to focus solely on damage. Coordinate and define who is responsible for damage, who is for healing, and who is for shields. Only with a good and balanced strategy will your Pokémon live long enough to deal significant damage to Machamp.
3. Tip: Strengthen your Pokémon
Having strong Pokémon as counters is not enough. Your monsters should be leveled up as high as possible. Additionally, you should have unlocked your Dynamax attacks and increased them to the maximum level to improve your chances against Gigantamax Machamp.
4. Tip: Switch out in battle
