In the evenings, you run a sushi restaurant where your catches are made into delicious meals and served to your guests. During the course of the game, I quickly realized that it won’t just be about diving and selling sushi. Over time, more and more mechanics and tasks came my way, guiding me through the coming hours. Initially, I just wanted to take a ‘quick look’ at Dave the Diver and get an impression.
What started as ‘just a quick look’ turned into 20 hours spread over two days. My original plan to play Diablo 4 and finally get my huntress to level 100 fell by the wayside. Fortunately, I still have a few days before Season 1 starts.
Dave the Diver unfolds over time and has incredibly much to offer, which I honestly didn’t expect at first.
Many hours of entertainment and varied gameplay
What does Dave the Diver offer? In addition to the adventures you embark on during your dives and the evenings in the sushi restaurant, there is much to discover and much to do.
Fighting and collecting: Underwater, you have essentially two main tasks. You collect resources that you find there, including food from crates, plants, and smaller fish. The second task is to fight larger fish, as these are particularly in demand in the restaurant.
Boss fights: As you progress, you will encounter larger opponents within the story. The fights can be quite tough and not only consist of attacks – sometimes you need to look around and incorporate your environment.
Survival: Underwater you depend on the supply of your oxygen tanks. You should always keep an eye on these and refill them at oxygen containers or shells underwater from time to time. If you run out of oxygen, it’s Game Over. You lose your collected items and can only choose a single item to take with you on your rescue back to the boat.

Lovable characters: All characters bring their own stories and contribute to the gaming experience even through small details. Your staff gradually develops their own skills, characters from side quests take on important roles, and the main characters enrich the game with quirky and funny dialogues.
Management & Simulation: In your sushi restaurant, you initially do most things yourself. Although you have a chef, you still have to serve plates to the guests, pour them drinks in a mini-game, and refill wasabi for the chef. Later, managing also includes hiring and directing staff. Occasionally, there are events where you need to serve specific fish.
Upgrading & crafting: What will be familiar to you from other games is the upgrading of items as well as crafting equipment and weapons. You can also gradually upgrade your restaurant with visual items. To keep track of your equipment, restaurant, and fish, you use a smartphone.

Appropriate music: Each area has its own song. It’s especially cool that you unlock different songs by progressing through the scenes. These are then saved in your playlist.

How popular is Dave the Diver? Dave the Diver was released on June 28 and was both published and developed by Mintrocket. On Steam, it has so far recorded a whopping 97 % positive reviews. In total, Dave the Diver has over 98,000 players.

What kind of event is this? In Pokémon GO, a Spotlight Hour starts every Tuesday evening. For 60 minutes, a Pokémon along with a bonus is in focus of the game. Which Pokémon and bonus will be activated is determined by Niantic at the beginning of each month.

A kidnapped girl is found because her kidnapper allowed her gaming on her console. What sounds crazy has really happened in the USA. An American agency reports.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a Nintendo Switch was used to locate a missing 15-year-old girl and bring her back to her family. The IP address of the Switch revealed the location of the playing girl to the agency.
The girl had met her kidnapper online and went missing after the first meeting with him. He had taken her home to Arizona, about 3,000 kilometers away, where he hid her.

Trolls want to kill you
What trick is it about? User “Clear-Document-5598” titled on Reddit: “Warning for hardcore players playing the Hell Tide” and gathered almost 5,000 upvotes over the weekend. Additionally, there were nearly 1,000 comments.
The warning is quite simple: Be cautious about who invites you, don’t just travel to strangers. The thread creator shares their experiences.
They were playing their hardcore Necromancer in a Hell Tide on world tier 3 and received an invitation from a player at level 100: “Come to me, chest and boss here.”
Oh, how nice – one might think at first and then travel to the accommodating player. However, Clear-Document-5598 was skeptical and first checked where the other player was located. They were waiting in the Fields of Hatred, the PvP areas in Diablo 4.
If Clear-Document-5598 had traveled there, they could have lost their hardcore Necromancer. There would have likely been more trolls waiting to take out their character.
What do players say about it? The warning is well-received and sparks some discussion in the Reddit thread. Some talk about their experiences from Diablo 2, where trolling was also popular.
Players also share when they learned in their gaming careers that they shouldn’t trust strangers. Or that it’s best to trust no one when an offer sounds too good to be true.
DeKrazyK writes, “I was never scammed in real life because I learned my lessons in Runescape. I was 10 back then.”
Indeed, some players confess here that they were scammed as noobs in Runescape. So too “bamboojungles”: “I lost a rune shield and a leg guard back in OG Runescape. My heart was broken for months.”
User “nanosam” summarizes the tips from the thread for all Diablo players: “In hardcore mode, you have to assume the worst intentions every time. […] Trust no one in hardcore mode.”

The new Call of Duty 2023 has not yet been officially announced, but the leak machine is already running at full speed. Fresh leaks announce a game mode that is generating initial interest in the latest CoD among MeinMMO editor Maik.
If you believe the leaks and unconfirmed reports about the new CoD 2023, we already know quite a bit about the upcoming shooter. It is supposed to be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it appears to be a direct continuation of the current CoD.
My experiences from the past years have shown that the group of leakers in Call of Duty is often excellently informed and well-connected. Last weekend, there were some exciting pieces of information again, this time from the leaker “@BobNetworkUK”:

These are leaks, and it is not all certain yet. However, the last point did cause a brief pulse rush for me, as the war mode was the best part of Call of Duty 2017.

Why is the mode so exciting? The war mode is a pure PvP mode with attackers and defenders in a large, divided combat area. It is comparable to “Breakthrough” from Battlefield.
If the attackers succeed in their task, such as capturing a fortified position, combat will continue in the next section of the area. Each battle also tells a little bit of story.
Aside from the awful connectivity issues during the release of CoD 2017, this mode particularly stuck in my memory. I can even say: The war mode saved WW2 for me back then. The rough release caused a lot of frustration for my team, but we ended up playing that mode quite a bit.
We threw ourselves into the “Meat Grinder” for hours, died hundreds of times trying to finally cross the bridge right before the objective point. Or enjoyed the view from the other side to get revenge with dozens of kills for the previous round.
At times, the mode had its weaknesses. The balancing of the maps is essential for fun, and it didn’t always hit the mark. But it actually often worked well in CoD 2017, and the war mode consistently delivered strong matches.
You could comfortably play a few rounds while chatting, just as well as jumping into a match with a dedicated team and forcing rows of opponents into rage quits. A few more maps would have been great back then, but I have fond memories of the mode.
When will there be more information about CoD 2023? There is still no official statement on this; here, too, there are only leaks. If you believe the unconfirmed information, the first insiders may already be playing.
Currently, leaks are expecting a reveal in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone, specifically in the DMZ mode.
Similar to CoD: Cold War (2020) and CoD: Vanguard (2021), the new CoD MW3 is supposed to be presented in the free battle royale of Call of Duty. Back then, scripted events were held in Warzone that ultimately showed the first trailer of the new Call of Duty.
The mobile game Diablo Immortal is considered a sin of Blizzard by many players and fans of Diablo, a disgrace, a manipulative play-to-win hell. People publicly cursed the game, which turned the long-standing love of Diablo fans into bare cash. Even in Germany, the outrage in forums about Diablo Immortal and Blizzard was great, but the revenue figures tell a different story a year after release.
How successful is Diablo Immortal?
According to a mix of analysis and estimation from the data company data.ai, Diablo Immortal generated $525 million in revenue in the first year since release. It is estimated that there are nearly 22 million downloads worldwide. Diablo Immortal was released on June 2 for iOS, Android, and Windows.
Only 14 mobile games have broken the $500 million mark faster: these include games like Pokémon GO, Candy Crush Saga, or Genshin Impact. Among MMORPGs, Diablo Immortal is the 3rd most successful mobile game overall.
The actual revenue from Diablo Immortal is even higher than the $525 million that data.ai assumes. This is because the revenues from some Android marketplaces are missing. The revenue from the PC is also not included in the sales figures.

Germans spend €15.4 million on Diablo Immortal
Where does the money come from? As expected, the most money has been spent by players from China. Diablo Immortal was developed in collaboration with NetEase. Experts always thought that Blizzard was targeting the Chinese market with the title, where there has been so much trouble recently.
There was also turmoil around Diablo Immortal in June 2022 in China, but that seems to have settled down quickly enough for Blizzard:
It was able to generate 36.8% of the revenue in China.
The USA ranks second in spending on Diablo Immortal with 24.4%.
Gaming-crazy South Korea follows with 8.7% of the revenue.
Germany accounts for 3.3% share.
The 3.3% share of the $525 million revenue amounts to about $17.33 million – roughly €15.4 million.
The enthusiasm for the “pay-to-win” Diablo seems to be significantly greater in Germany than in comparable countries like France (1.3%), Japan (2.2%), or the United Kingdom (1.2%). Spain (0.4%) and Italy (0.7%) perform weaker.
This is what it’s about: This reiterates that the biggest money in gaming, even in mobile gaming, is made in the USA and China.
However, among European markets, Germany is still the largest.
The rejection of mobile games and microtransactions, which one often reads in comments and forums, does not seem to be reflected in the purchasing behavior of the Germans. However, one must keep in mind that the figures are absolute and not per capita.
The USA has about 4 times more inhabitants than Germany, but even spends 7 times as much money on Diablo Immortal as we do – we are not as bad as Americans in the aspect of “willingness to pay for a mobile pay-to-win Diablo” yet.

Team gained access to 11 or 12 scouts from Football Manager
How did a computer game help him? In an interview with the Times, Rooney stated that Football Manager has helped improve the club’s recruiting methods.
Rooney says:

In World of Warcraft there is a new specialization: the Enhancement Caller. The class brings a new twist to the MMORPG WoW. It is a hero who specializes in enhancing teammates. 22 Callers make a death knight a boss killer
This was seen in the raid: The death knight specialist from the site “Wowhead” has now entered a raid with 22 Enhancement Callers and increased the DPS of an Unholy Death Knight to 13.4 million.
This allowed his group to shorten the fight against a heroic raid boss, which normally lasts about 2 minutes, to 24 seconds. The player says:
“Every Enhancement Caller scales multiplicatively when you add more Callers during the burst phase.”

Certain bonuses from the Caller’s abilities are multiplicative and not additive. As PC Gamer explains, it comes down to the raid boss “Kazzara the Hellforged” simply being melted away in the “Aberrus” raid.

How fast is that in comparison? The kill of the team with 24 seconds is much faster than the previous record kill of 1:44 minutes.
Most groups need about 2 minutes for the boss.
It is expected that Blizzard will release a hotfix for WoW shortly to curb the scaling of the Enhancement Caller. This cannot obviously be Blizzard’s wish and will surely be fixed soon.
Whoever knows 22 Callers willing to respec might have some fun for a while.
