The man of steel himself has shown how he is inaugurating his new grill just in time for summer. Naturally, Henry Cavill wouldn’t be Henry Cavill if he didn’t add a little nod to Warhammer 40,000.
On Instagram, the actor (Superman, The Witcher) shares pictures and short clips of his new smoker locomotive along with the result: a pulled beef from the beef hip, sprayed with fat to make it juicier, smoked with oak wood and seasoned with a black rub.
The delicious food is obviously just a side note here, as the actual highlight is not inside the smoker, but on it. In the lower right corner, some fans on Reddit have identified a distinctive symbol, the emblem of the Adeptus Custodes.
Henry Cavill is an outspoken Warhammer fan and the Adeptus Custodes are his favorite army. It’s understandable that he would adorn such a fancy masterpiece of engineering – albeit probably not from Mars – with the emblem of his faction.
“Henry Cavill is living the life we all want”
The Instagram post alone has over 29,000 comments congratulating Cavill on his purchase and some expressing envy over his grilled food. By the way: The smoker locomotive comes from the British manufacturer Leviathan Pits and can essentially be customized. Prices range from around £3,000 to about £20,000 (approximately €3,500-23,500).
Mixed recognition with envy can also be found on Reddit, where it is said: “PC gamer, Warhammer nerd, and smoking meat. It’s like looking in a mirror, only his reflection isn’t a corpulent, less attractive, 48-year-old, poor non-movie star person.”
If the Adeptus Custodes don’t ring a bell, they are the super-soldiers who are even more superhuman than Space Marines and serve as the personal bodyguard of the Emperor. Cavill is such a big fan of them that one could see the genuine joy on his face when fans gifted him a limited box during a shoot.
How much would you spend on a smoker straight from the Mechanicum? What would you prepare on it? Or what would you bring to Cavill’s barbecue party? Let us know in a comment!
Henry Cavill loves to share his nerd hobby with the world at almost every opportunity. He often speaks about his armies in interviews, challenges colleagues, or corrects journalists on misunderstandings. However, he is not the only celebrity interested in the grim dark future of the 41st millennium: Henry Cavill is probably the most famous fan of Warhammer 40,000, but these 5 celebrities also serve the Emperor
