With Season 15, Blizzard brings some old, legendary items to Diablo 4, which were previously in the predecessors. One of them is a ring that will likely give some nasty flashbacks to the veterans among you.
What kind of item is this? Of course, I am talking about the Stone of Jordan. The ring originated from Diablo 2 and was quite powerful, granting a bonus to all skills, additional mana, and damage.
Furthermore, the Stone of Jordan is responsible for the economic destruction of Diablo 2. Specifically, exploits were responsible for this, but the ring was the target of these exploits. Since gold in Diablo 2 eventually became worthless, players traded items that had a certain value – like the Stone of Jordan. At some point, this became the standard currency.
However, the Stone of Jordan was the target of duping exploits, meaning it was multiplied through bugs. The subsequent inflation could not be stopped, not even by a new event with Over-Diablo, through which Blizzard wanted to take the rings off the market. Blizzard brings back old favorites, throwing around familiar names
With the upcoming Season 15 of Diablo 4, Blizzard is bringing the infamous ring back as an item for all classes. In addition, eight more uniques will appear that originate from the earlier time of the series:
For all classes:
- Leoric’s Crown
- Bracers of the Arch-Nemesis
- Krümelchen’s Blouse (derived from Krümelchen’s Necklace)
Restricted to certain classes
- Aroic’s Needle
- Henri’s Eternal Hunt
- In-Geom
- The Smelter
- Messerschmidt’s Raider
In the community, there are already jokes about Season 16 being the season of the belts if the journey continues towards Diablo 3. For those who do not understand the joke: belts were the running gag back then because they really dropped constantly and everywhere, sometimes being very valuable but sometimes also useless – such as the Goldwrap, the Ear Necklace, or the Ghost Hour.
