After the announcement of the founder packs for Aion 2, some criticism fell on the responsible parties at NCSoft. In the latest developer stream, they responded to some of the pain points.
Why was there criticism? When NCSoft introduced the founder packs of Aion 2 in July, the community looked at 3 different packs priced between 21.25 and 84.99 euros. For this, you mainly get cosmetic skins, but also five days of early access starting from September 30, 2026.
Many players were surprised that none of the packs included the Battle Pass, subscription time, or any of the in-game currencies. Some members of the community did not like this at all, especially with regards to the more expensive early access packs. Additionally, some players apparently were bothered by the hint that the early access skins might eventually land in the in-game shop.

How is NCSoft reacting now? During the developer livestream on YouTube on August 8, 2026, the developers addressed these points:
- All 3 versions of the founder packs for Aion 2 include one month of subscription. This also applies if you have already ordered the early access pack.
- Unlike in Korea, the skins of the founder pack versions will not be available in the Western in-game shop at a later date.
With this, the developers are directly addressing the criticism from the community and making the founder packs noticeably more valuable.
What else does NCSoft reveal? Most other information from the livestream will likely sound familiar to you if you have been following Aion 2 closely for some time:
- The Western version of Aion 2 will have 5 server regions to choose from: US West, US East, Central Europe, South America, Japan
- You can play freely on all servers, but you should expect increased ping on worlds from other regions
- The developers reiterated that Aion 2 will be released uncut in the West – there will be no changes for very revealing outfits, for example.
- The Western version will offer you the auto-looting system for pets for free from the start.
- The team sizes in PvE will be adjusted, from 4 to 5 in dungeons and from 8 to 10 in raids.
- You no longer need to redeem tickets to enter PvE instances.
- In PvP on battlefields, your equipment does not matter – all participants will be set to a comparable level.
