The responsible parties of Aion 2 have finally revealed when the MMORPG will be released in the West. However, that’s not entirely accurate. We had to calculate for this information …!
When does Aion 2 launch in the West? We now know, officially and freshly, that the early access of Aion 2 is set to start on September 30, 2026. Since the early access will last for 5 days, we can deduce that the new MMORPG from NCSoft is expected to celebrate its final launch on October 5, 2026.
The final launch is therefore only partially as promised in September. This fits with NCSoft’s communicational flaws, since they didn’t even mention the launch date when announcing the early access date.
At least it’s clear what every MMO fan will have to pay to get on the servers of Aion 2 as early as possible. The cheapest version costs €21.25, while the most expensive is €84.99. Here are the details:
- The Standard Edition is available for €21.25 and includes five days of early access, a “Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest,” and the unique title “Vanguard of Atreia.”
- The Deluxe Edition is available for €42.49 and includes all the contents of the Standard Edition as well as the armor skins “Ascended Daeva” and the weapon skin “Eternal Sun.”
- The Ultimate Edition is available for €84.99 and includes all the contents of the Deluxe Edition, as well as the “Daeva’s Styling Chest,” the armor skin “Moonlit Aria,” the pet “Black Dragon,” and the wings “Blazing Sun.”
Thus, the early access packages do not include a battle pass, subscription time, or in-game currency. You can see the cosmetics of the founder’s packages below:

NCSoft is having a hard time in the West
How does the community react to the announcement? Although we expect the biggest MMORPG release in the West since Lost Ark in February 2022, there is hardly any hype or excitement within the MMO community. Many players are looking forward to the launch, but there are at least as many who view Aion 2’s payment model, poor communication, or NCSoft’s past releases with skepticism.
- NovaAkumaa writes on Reddit: “Look at the state of Throne and Liberty. I wouldn’t waste my time trying it out.”
- Mysterious_Frenchy criticizes on Reddit: “Yeah right, it comes out in September … on September 30 … as early access … I’m laughing out loud.”
- Plastic-Lemons notes on Reddit: “Is this just for skins and early access? No battle pass included? How bad.” Rurumo666 adds in his reply: “Also no subscription time or in-game currency.”
- georgealexandros is one of the players who is looking forward to Reddit: “Aion got me interested in MMOs all those years ago, so I have great memories associated with it. I will definitely jump in.”
