Still in September, a major stress test will take place for Aion 2 to prepare the servers for the official launch on October 5, 2026. MeinMMO tells you what you need to know and how to participate.
What does the roadmap for the global launch of Aion 2 look like now? With the announcement of the early access phase, it was already clear that the official launch of Aion 2 would have to take place on October 5, 2026, but NCSoft only named the actual date for the first time yesterday during the Opening Night Live of gamescom.
Much more exciting, however, was another date that got a bit lost in the barrage of announcements: Aion 2 will indeed receive a test before the global launch! This will take place from September 17 to 18. The roadmap until the launch of Aion 2 is as follows:
- September 16: Pre-download available from 3 PM
- September 17 and 18: Launch-Scale Test
- September 30: Start of early access for all founders pack owners
- October 5: Official launch of Aion 2

12 Hours Test
What else is known? The launch-scale test will not run continuously on the two days, but only in two specified time slots, each for 6 hours. In this way, the developers want to attract as many players to the servers as possible within a narrow time window to really challenge them.
On September 17, the test is scheduled to run from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On September 19, the test server will be open from 9:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Anyone interested can participate via Steam or NCSoft’s PURPLE platform. You can find more details about the test on the following page.
What is Aion 2 as an MMORPG? Aion 2 is a new theme park MMORPG from NCSoft, which will be released with a free-to-play model in late September or early October in the West. It offers a wide range of PvE content, but also has some optional PvP challenges.
