At gamescom 2026, MeinMMO editor Jasmin was able to attend a presentation on AION 2. The focus was fully on the appearance.
You can literally see from the tip of the characters’ noses that AION 2 comes from Korea. The characters all have an elegant appearance, and great emphasis is placed on their look.
However, in addition to the right hairstyle and hair color, there are other details that players need to deal with. During a presentation, I realized for the first time that I will spend many hours in AION 2 for the perfect appearance. One item, in particular, caught my attention.
I need the burning gummy bears
One of the classes you can play in AION 2 is the wizard. He carries a book, as is customary for a magician, from which he can cast spells.
This book also has numerous skins, each crazier than the last. I was particularly struck by two burning gummy bears that make up the cover of this book.
But that’s not all: the wings that allow players to fly also have many cosmetics. They become visible every time you jump.
It would be extremely embarrassing for me if they aren’t styled perfectly either. While AION 2 focuses on smaller player groups, I still don’t want to embarrass myself in front of them.
As if that weren’t enough, there are also over 200 pets that walk alongside you in battle. Here too, you can further optimize your appearance.
So, if you want to spend less time on PvE content, there is plenty of choice to make your character stand out from others. I’m glad that many items were not just focused on aesthetics (like the burning gummy bears), but also on creativity.
That’s why I’m already looking forward to spending a lot of time on my appearance in AION 2. I already had a great time doing this in Final Fantasy XIV.
However, I can’t yet estimate how much you have to spend for all the skins. Because the crazy cosmetics look so special, I can imagine that they have to be purchased for real money.
Cosmetics, skins, and generally the appearance of a character hold great importance for many MMORPG players. But players’ wishes cannot always be fulfilled, especially if there are technical difficulties: Big butts are a much bigger technical challenge in Final Fantasy XIV than fans want to admit.
