The developers of GTA 6 are exercising absolute self-control and have not released any information about the content of their game for months. The fans find this sad.
Why would we all be playing GTA 6 right now? May 26, 2026 was long considered a fixed release date for players of GTA 6, and some had even taken vacation time for the next GTA adventure. Despite the nice weather, the plan was to explore sunny Florida from the couch.
But with the postponement to November 19, 2026, Rockstar seems to have forgotten May 26. While the pinned second trailer of GTA 6 on X.com still shows the date in May, it seems that the date no longer holds any significance for Rockstar.
Nevertheless, fans hoped at least for a post that provided a screenshot or a glimpse into the black box of development. However, the fans were left disappointed and without new information.

What do the fans say? A post went viral on Reddit, coinciding with the former release date. In it, the X.com account @GTABase writes:
I don’t understand why Rockstar cares so little about its fan community, especially on a day like this. How hard would it have been to tweet something like this:
“Today should actually be the release date of GTA 6. The extra time allows us to create something great. We will report more on this soon – but until then, here’s a screenshot to make the wait a little shorter. Thank you for your support!”
But no – nothing, not even today. Crazy.
Fans agree with the account, expressing that they would have appreciated a message from Rockstar. They write on Reddit:
- SomeChilledGuy: “To be fair, a cheeky screenshot with the new date could have gone viral – but nothing. Understandable perspective.”
- Apprehensive_Cow_331: “That would be nice! And that’s reasonable. Anyone who says, ‘they don’t have to’ is right. But that’s not the point, lol. Communication with fans, even if it’s just a little, is HUGE for something like this.”
- wevegotheadsonsticks: “The hype around this game, the lack of new information, and your thirst for it is a MUCH better marketing strategy than any screenshot could be. It’s a machine that is currently generating A LOT for them. So less is more at the moment, and they will ride this wave until it gets closer to release.”
The hype for GTA 6 is growing every day, even without new screenshots. Fans can hardly wait for Rockstar to finally announce the third trailer and the pre-orders for the title.
