Hulk is considered the mightiest hero in the Marvel Universe, but even the green giant can be defeated. The Thing is often a good friend of Hulk, but they also like to fight each other.

The Thing and Hulk have a long history of fighting together, which is not just born out of anger or hatred. Sometimes they are simply friends who want to let off steam. After all, both suffer from similar issues when it comes to their appearance.
In Fantastic Four No. 320, The Thing faced Joe Fixit. This is a gray variant of the Hulk, who is somewhat weaker but much smarter and more cunning. As a gangster, he likes to take on jobs, and this time he did so for Doctor Doom.
The Thing had an upgrade, however. Due to cosmic rays, Ben Grimm became stronger, and his stone skin was full of spikes. In classic comic fashion, the two let their fists fly and threw each other through the city.
Ben Grimm manages to overpower Joe Fixit and defeat him. Normally, The Thing should not be able to defeat Hulk – since they are usually friends, this is not important.
