The new Horadric Cube is a powerful crafting tool in Diablo 4. However, some of its features cause frustration, which is why players have now developed their own solution.
Why does the crafting system cause frustration? With the Horadric Cube, you can essentially create perfect items for your build yourself or specifically search for them. Since the Cube does not explain the exact mechanics in great detail, many players accidentally “brick” their items. This does not mean that items are really broken, but rather that they become unusable for them.
Because those who try to specifically remove inappropriate affixes risk losing the most important stats instead. Rolling these back randomly also relies on chance, even if you use tuning prisms to narrow down the affix category.
Planner shows you the safe crafting route
What kind of tool is this? Because the game describes the recipes in the Cube so vaguely, two players have developed a planner, which they introduced in a Reddit post. The tool is meant to always show the safest crafting path.
On the website Prism Pathfinder, you enter the current stats of your item as well as your desired affixes. The planner then outputs step by step the safest route and also tells you which tuning prisms you should use.
A green path shows the safe way, while a red path warns of risks. The tool automatically calculates a recommended safe route. For input, you can either type out the affixes or upload a screenshot of your item. Additionally, created loadouts can be saved.
This is how the planner comes about: The community responds gratefully. Many players report that they have already “bricked” valuable items because they thought their crafting path was safe. Along with praise, there are also initial suggestions for improvement from the community, such as unclear descriptions or erroneous categories of affixes.
