MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes shows you the 10 best movies from the MCU. At number 4 is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- Release: May 1, 2008
Iron Man was not only the start of the beloved MCU but also remains one of Marvel’s best films to this day. The greatest praise is likely due to the casting and the actor Robert Downey Jr. himself. He embodies Tony Stark as if he was born for this role, and in my opinion, surpasses even the portrayal in the comics.
The first Iron Man best showcases what lies behind the billionaire and how he regrets his past. Add to that cool, explosive action with the suit and some really solid CGI that still holds up today.
Iron Man established Tony not only as a superhero for his own series but also as a driving force behind many situations in the MCU, even if he sometimes goes overboard. This makes the film the best introduction that any Marvel hero has ever had.
