MyMMO editor Nikolas Hernes shows you the 10 best movies from the MCU. In 6th place, the new Avengers fight.
- Release: May 1, 2025
Thunderbolts was a really nice surprise in 2025, even though the team is actually a ragtag of supporting characters – but it works quite well. There is an unusual chemistry that can be felt as a viewer, primarily thanks to Florence Pugh’s performance as Yelena. She is simply one of the best actresses in the MCU.
The action also benefits from this chemistry, as each of the characters can showcase what they are capable of and what sets them apart from typical heroes. They are just a nice contrast to the classic Avengers, who tend to symbolize more radiant superheroes
.
What Thunderbolts does really well is the personal story regarding Bob. At its core, it’s about defeating a new villain. It’s about outsiders who must find a place in a world that doesn’t want them.
Just like for the AIs, this film probably flies under the radar for many Marvel fans who believe that the MCU has gotten worse since Endgame. Yet especially Thunderbolts can stand up to the big films.
