The hunger for a new MMO is great. Those who are fascinated by space MMOs usually turn to EVE Online, but a new competitor on Steam is practically at the starting line.
What kind of game is it? SpaceCraft is a space MMO that takes place in a huge galaxy. Here, you explore space, build your own bases, develop intergalactic logistics, and trade with other players.
One could say: SpaceCraft is like EVE Online, just without the big PvP. It is also not a true MMORPG, because its gameplay, while online and set in a shared world, resembles games like Satisfactory mixed with Stellaris.

Last Minute Delay
When does SpaceCraft launch? Actually, the Early Access for SpaceCraft was supposed to start on May 20, 2026, on Steam. However, the developers have announced a last-minute delay to Steam. The new date is June 11, 2026.
At least the developers give us insight into whether there are enough fans interested in the title to make it an MMO. According to their announcement on Steam, 400,000 players have added the title to their wish list so far.
At least the 400,000 players are not coming away empty-handed. Starting May 20, a wave of invitations for the beta of the title will be sent out. This way, fans can try out the current state of the title for free.
If you don’t want to wait that long, you can already try out the demo of the game on Steam.
What does the gameplay look like? SpaceCraft attempts a balancing act that could become an interesting MMO. Instead of focusing on space battles, everything revolves around the economy. Thus, you can play the title like Satisfactory: mining resources, building facilities, fully automating a planet.
The MMO part then leans more towards Stellaris. You can form companies (guilds) with others to distribute your products even better. Big contracts can then be solved together with others to climb the rankings in the game.
Instead of destroying each other’s spaceships in PvP, it’s more about a kind of economic war that sends you into a race against other companies. In the end, however, you decide for yourself whether you want to compete or if the symbolic store around the corner is enough for you.
With SpaceCraft, an exciting new MMO will hit the market on June 11 that differs significantly from previous titles and where you shouldn’t expect gameplay like in EVE Online, despite the description of a space MMO. The last major battle of EVE Online even made it into the record books: EVE Online breaks 2 world records at once, over 10,000 players destroy €40,000 in a battle
