The problem of the rich in video games is often a predetermined limit set by developers. Also Diablo 4 has such a limit for various currencies, which are now being significantly raised by Blizzard.
What kind of change is this? On June 30, the 14th season of Diablo 4 starts. Of course, there are a lot of patch notes that contain various interesting changes and innovations. Included are, among other things, the rifts in the realms of madness, a seasonal hideout boss, or the revamped mythics.
This also includes an increase of the gold and obolus limit to 10 times the original value. Especially the new obolus limit of 25,000 pleases many players of Blizzard’s ARPG. Because now even more can be farmed before heading back to town to exchange the obols for random items of various rarity.

How does the community react to this change? User Cerberus8317 shared a screenshot of the change in the Diablo 4 subreddit with the title: “I can only say: It’s about time.”
So far, the post has gathered over 900 upvotes and nearly 200 comments (as of June 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM). The user further writes: “People have been asking for this for ages” and shares personal experiences with the low limit, which was already exhausted after one chest in an endgame dungeon with the right affixes.
Also, Reddit user Much_Conflict_1041 seems annoyed by the old limit: “I can’t even say how many oboluses I had to leave behind at the end of a dungeon! The obol limit is going to be really nice.”
