The eldest son of a player finally starts with Warframe and receives as a gift a skin that Dad collected 12 years ago and has kept in his inventory since then. Today, the skin is no longer available so easily.
What kind of skin is that? The “Rhino Helmet and Skin: Rubedo”, or “Rubedo Plated Rhino Skin and Helmet”, is a limited skin for the Rhino suit from the Steam Summer Sale 2014.
Warframe players could craft the bright red armor until the end of the sale in June 2014. Since then, the skin is only available on the marketplace, not through regular gameplay.
On Reddit, a user shows exactly this skin and writes: After his eldest son has started with Warframe, he should receive this rare skin as a gift. The simple message: “Thanks, Dad :D” touches the entire community. Well, almost the entire…
“That’s why Steam is #1 and will remain so”
The father thanks Steam first for the opportunity to store an in-game item for so long: “This is the main reason why Steam is still number one and why it will remain number one.”
If the son continues to stick with it and play Warframe, he should next receive the matching Rubedo sword.
While most users in the comments praise the action or simply respond with “That’s cool”, there are at least a few people who enrich the joy with a few sobering facts, pointing out: the skin costs just $1.50 on the marketplace (1.40 euros in Germany).
One user still chimes in that a gift for a loved one after 12 years is “priceless”, to which another replies: “Priceless? Don’t know, I’m pretty sure that’s one fifty.” At least the skin is still quite limited: as of the current status (June 14), there are just under 300 sales offers, but almost 2,000 purchase orders.
Warframe is considered an alternative for all fans of Destiny 2, especially now that Bungie’s legendary shooter has played its last update and is slowly closing its doors. A certain affinity or at least connection is even hinted at by the developers: Warframe also bids farewell to Destiny 2 with a special homage that you can snag
