During the Summer Game Fests 2026, a new gameplay trailer for the MMO by Warframe developers Soulframe was shown. There is a giant wolf, reminiscent of Princess Mononoke, that you can seemingly ride.
What is Soulframe? In Soulframe, you must save the land of Alca by defeating its dangers and slaying bosses. Along the way, you will encounter various creatures closely connected to nature, whom you can befriend or fight against.
Of course, there are also various classes in the form of pacts that you must unlock before using them. You can channel the spirit of a bear or deer, or take the more traditional path of a healer.
With friends, you can tackle dungeons or bosses together, like the three-headed bear, and explore Alca collectively.

Ride like Princess Mononoke into the hordes of your enemies
While in the current version of the pre-alpha there is already a small wolf waiting in your camp to be petted, Soulframe is now showcasing an adult giant wolf.
On this one, you will ultimately be able to ride with future updates. This is very reminiscent of the anime classic “Princess Mononoke”, who also travels the world with her animal companions that she was raised with. The nature-themed aspects are shared between the MMO and the anime.
You could also hear a familiar voice in the new trailer. Jennifer English, who lent her voice to Shadowheart from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Maelle from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, voices “Alora the Empress of Eldveil” in Soulframe.
Soulframe is currently in a pre-alpha version and is continuously being developed and improved. On the official website, you can register and, with some luck, be selected in the weekly picks for the alpha. Alternatively, you can purchase direct access for €28.99 or €99.99 with some useful items.
