Akiba Pass TV

What are the special features of Akiba Pass TV? Akiba Pass TV is operated by Peppermint Anime, a distributor for DVDs and Blu-rays. Accordingly, the platform’s offering is designed accordingly.
With Akiba Pass TV, you do not stream the animes directly; instead, you either rent them for 90 days or buy them directly. If Akiba Pass TV were to be shut down at some point, the advantage is that if you purchase the animes, you can save them on your hard drive. Some animes are also available in German here.
Amazon Prime Video
Popular animes in the program: Elfenlied, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Suicide Squad Isekai

What are the special features of Amazon Prime Video? Amazon offers several options to make anime fans happy. Without a subscription, viewers can rent or buy movies and series and utilize Freevee’s free offering. However, Freevee mainly features lesser-known animes, with the only well-known anime being Mila Superstar.
If you are a big anime fan, you can expand the selection of animes for an additional fee. The offer often includes more seasons of anime series that are not available on Amazon Prime Video. There is also the option to test the additional offer for 7 days.
Students also have the opportunity to receive a discount on Amazon Prime with proof of enrollment. This brings the price down to just €4.49 per month or €44.90 per year. With Amazon Prime, you can not only watch anime series but also other series and movies.

What are the special features of Netflix? Netflix is one of the largest streaming service providers in Germany when it comes to movies and series in general. Therefore, you get what is probably the largest selection overall with a Netflix subscription.
The streaming service offers several subscription options where anime fans can save money if they accept ads or a lower resolution. However, there are not as many animes available on Netflix compared to pure anime providers.
ADN (Animation Digital Network)
Popular animes in the program: I Parry Everything!, The Eminence in Shadow, Ragna Crimson
Costs: €6.99 / month
What are the special features of ADN? Of all the streaming services presented, ADN is the provider that has existed in Germany for the shortest time. The provider started its beta in December 2023 and has a manageable program – especially regarding animes with German dubbing.
As a nice addition, there are some Belgian-French animated films. These include Asterix & Obelix or Tintin. If you have a penchant for these series and films, the streaming service might be the right choice for you.
Disney+
Popular animes in the program: Sand Land: The Series, Bleach, Tokyo Revengers
Costs: €5.99 / €8.99 / €11.99 per month
What are the special features of Disney+? Disney+ has the same advantages as Netflix. There are several subscription options, and you get a very wide range of movies and series. However, unlike Netflix, the focus here is on in-house brands like Pixar or Marvel. This means that not as many anime series and films are offered as with pure anime providers.

What are the special features of RTL+ and Joyn? The streaming services of the TV stations have a manageable program of animes. Since the episodes are only available for a limited time shortly after their TV broadcast, only certain episodes can be found, which may be in the middle of a season.
