Do you need a strong Kapuno in Pokémon GO? Then you have another great chance to do so in May.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day Classic is back, and it features a top attacker: Kapuno is the Pokémon of the day that will appear throughout the game. With an increased shiny chance!
The original Community Day with Kapuno took place in June 2022, so it’s been quite a while. Those who missed it back then, or haven’t played at all, can be happy. Because Kapuno evolves into one of the best Pokémon in the game: Trikephalo.
When is the Community Day Classic? The Kapuno event takes place on May 16th, which is a Saturday. It starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM.
And here’s a summary of the bonuses the day brings us.

The most important bonus: Kapuno appears with an increased shiny chance. This gives you a very good opportunity to secure the shiny variant.
The second most important bonus: If you evolve Duodino, the first evolution of Kapuno, into Trikephalo between the event start and 9:00 PM, it will learn the move Wirbler. This is important to make Trikephalo one of the best dark attackers in the entire game. If you still have a Crypto-Kapuno or -Duodino, you should evolve those during this time as well.
Additional bonuses: Like usual, the C-Day Classic brings a few more bonuses.
- Each catch gives x3 XP
- Incense lasts for three hours
- Lure modules last for one hour. They will attract Kapuno with an increased shiny chance even beyond the end of the event until 9:00 PM. Good for those who don’t have time between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Snapshot surprises with Kapuno.
- Field research related to Kapuno.
Overall, this is a Community Day that shouldn’t be missed if you don’t have a powerful Trikephalo in your collection yet. Who knows when the chance for a shiny specimen will come again?
