My.Games is being sold. The studio owns popular MMO games such as Skyforge, Allods Online, Warface, and Conqueror’s Blade.In the deal, 642 million euros are exchanged.
Previously, My.Games belonged to VK Company and the Mail.ru Group. In a post on their website, they announced that the gaming company is being sold. The buyer is Aleksander Chachava from LETA Capital. Both are Russian firms. LETA offered 642 million for the company along with all its games.
LETA Capital is a capital firm focusing on technology. They invest in video games, as well as in new technologies such as AI.
What does VK say? After the sale, VK Company plans to continue developing its own games and publishing them in Russia. “VK will continue to develop its own gaming services and market them under the VK Play brand in Russia.”
Vladimir Nikolskiy, a co-founder of My.Games, will remain at the sold company and thus leave VK. The games will not completely pass into foreign hands.
What changes for the sold games? For now, nothing changes – especially since Nikolskiy remains. Whether the new owners plan any future changes for any of the MMOs or other games from My.Games is currently unknown.

This is how free kicks work in FIFA 23: The new series has completely revamped free kicks, and now you can decide where your shooter hits the ball and which type of free kick is executed as a result.
This is how it works:
Use R2/RT to choose the free kick taker.
Use the left stick to determine the direction of the shot.
Use the right stick to decide where the ball should be hit and thus determine the type of free kick.
Charge the shot power and hope the ball finds its way into the goal.
It’s crucial that you select the right type for the correct distance. We show you 2 strong types that, with a little practice and strong shooters, should allow you to convert pretty much every free kick.

Before we start, it must be mentioned that there is unfortunately no guarantee that a free kick will go in every time. However, with enough practice and the right technique, it is possible to hit the ball quite reliably into the net.
It’s also important that you have a strong free kick taker on your team who can showcase good free kick stats.

At distances between 16 and 24 meters
When the opponent moves the goalkeeper and closes the near corner.
This is how the variant works:
Choose the right shooter. If you are standing to the left of the goal, you need a right-footed player, and if you are standing to the right of the goal, you need a left-footed player.
Now move the aiming aid with the left stick slightly next to the wall.
Then position the cursor with the right stick so that “Inside Foot (Spin)” is displayed and ensure the aiming aid is at shoulder height of the wall.
Now charge the shot bar to about 50 – 60%, depending on the distance.
If you have done everything correctly, the shot should smoothly fly into the goal, as the inside foot spin free kick is currently completely unstoppable and should be your best chance at a free kick goal.
Choose the right shooter. If you are looking at the goal from the right, you need a right-footed player. For a shot from the left, you need a left-footed player.
Now move the aiming aid with the left stick a good distance beside the wall.
Then position the cursor with the right stick so that “Curved Foot (Spin)” is displayed and ensure the aiming aid is at shoulder height of the wall.
Now charge the shot bar to about 50%.
If you have done everything correctly, the ball should now be in the net, and the goalkeeper as well as the players in the wall had no chance.
Free kicks from greater distances: If you want to overcome a greater distance, you can try with a dipping shot. For this, aim fairly centrally at the ball and the goal and charge the shot bar properly.
However, dipping shots are not very reliable, and at the moment it is more of a lottery whether such a shot goes into the goal.

In FIFA 23 the first “Live Tuning Update” is now available. This adjusts the gameplay for the first time – but only very slightly.

What is Technical Dribbling in FIFA 23? In the Pitch Notes for FIFA 23, “technical dribbling” is described as the “new standard dribbling style with the left stick” (via EA.com).
It refers to the dribbling animations you get when you use only the left stick. These are now supposed to become faster for weak dribblers.
In the first days of FIFA 23, some players noted that dribbling felt sluggish. It is possible that this change will come as a relief to them – although it remains to be seen how comprehensive the change actually is. After all, it is a Live Tuning Update, not a Title Update.
Moreover, only those with dribbling below 90 are affected. Therefore, no effect should be noticeable for top dribblers at first.

What are checkpoints in Destiny 2?
Every raid and dungeon in Destiny 2 is divided into stages. Once you have mastered a stage, you reach what is known as a “checkpoint.” This checkpoint is a save point that remains if you choose to exit the raid or dungeon.
Thanks to the save point at the checkpoint, Guardians have the chance to resume from where they left off after exiting, but only until the weekly reset has occurred.

The community is already searching for solutions: On Twitter, Luckstruck9 already announced that he can still offer the free service through his Discord server until January 18, 2023. But how things will continue after that is uncertain. Especially since Google Stadia was the best solution in terms of power consumption as well as the necessary resources.
Until then, he wants to find new methods, with the help of the community, to continue providing the checkpoint service.

One suggestion would be Nvidia GeForce Now’s cloud. However, the problem here is that the free version only allows a one-hour session, and the premium version is also limited to six hours.
The second option would be a high-end PC or server with virtual machines to handle the many gaming instances. However, as the checkpoint guy pointed out, the biggest obstacles are the procurement of hardware, setup, and high maintenance costs. In League of Legends, the tormented Americans finally have a reason to cheer. At the LoL Worlds 2022, the US team, Evil Geniuses, defeated the European team MAD Lions (Spain) with a 3-0 score and eliminated them. The first team from the West is out of the Worlds. The schadenfreude is high.
How was it for 8 years?
For over 8 years, European teams won every “best-of” series against teams from North America. Even worse: the NA teams virtually always lost without winning a single match.
The last time a North American team won at least one game against a European team was in the quarter-finals of the Worlds 2013. There, Cloud9, with Meteos, lost 1-2 but at least secured that one victory (via dotesports).
After that, the NA teams always got defeated by Europe: in 2019 G2 swept Team Liquid 3-0 away, and in 2018 Fnatic eliminated Team Cloud9 in the semi-finals of the Worlds with 3-0. But now everything has changed.

What a game it was yesterday! It was the final of the play-ins. The winner gets to continue in the Worlds. The loser goes home.
For Europe, MAD Lions played, with the German Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser as support, the Turkish Armut as top laner, and the Spanish jungler Elyoya. MAD Lions had been criticized for reaching the Worlds 2022 without winning a single “best-of” series in the European playoffs.
How did the match go? Evil Geniuses destroyed the MAD Lions and it wasn’t even close:
The 1st match lasted 37 minutes and ended with a score of 14-7 for Evil Geniuses. Impact secured 5 kills on Aatrox. Jungler Inspired on Maokai and Vulcan on Tahm Kench each contributed 10 and 12 assists.
Match 2 lasted only 24 minutes and ended 22-6. Again, Impact was the top killer with a score of 6-2-12 on Gangplank.
In Match 3, there were only a few kills with 13-3. Here, Inspired took over on Lee Sin (4-0-6) and substitute ADC Kaoir 5-1-13 got the kills, while Inspired played supportively on Sejuani and contributed 7 assists.

Usually, teams in the FIFA 23 career mode cannot sign and field women. However, there seems to be an exception for one player.
What kind of bug is this? The user “theOUTCOME3” reports in the FIFA subreddit that an interesting bug has apparently occurred in his career mode (via reddit).
After starting the third season, the user stated that some teams are now fielding women alongside the male players and that they can also be signed on the transfer market.

The well-known trading card game Magic: The Gathering celebrates a significant birthday soon. In honor of the 30th anniversary, there will be a special edition featuring 60 cards and costing around €1000. The edition is set to evoke nostalgia among fans with retro artwork.
Magic: The Gathering is one of the most famous trading card games of all time. Released in 1993 by the publishers Wizards of the Coast, it is played both as a tabletop game and digitally.
Wizards of the Coast is now releasing the “Magic: The Gathering 30th Anniversary Edition” to properly celebrate the original launch of the game. A display of this special edition contains 60 cards and is expected to cost $999, approximately €1000.
What does the edition look like? Each box contains 4 packs with 15 random cards from the 30th Anniversary Edition.
However, these cards are not allowed in tournaments. Therefore, these cards mainly serve as collectibles for fans celebrating the old artworks of the cards. Among the newly interpreted designs are some well-known cards from the franchise, such as the “Power Nine”.

I once saw a guy who spammed the Westfall chat for almost 2 hours looking for players level 21+ for the Deadmines. He rejected my level 19 warrior, so I found another group and completed the whole damn thing. When I came back out, he was still looking. His reason: with higher-level players it goes faster and he didn’t want to ‘carry’.
The comment receives a lot of agreement. Other users explain that there are players who would rather waste the whole day looking for an optimal group instead of trying with a suboptimal setup – and finishing earlier.
User ecountltd for example, tells that he was in Azjol-Nerub with a new tank. After a wipe due to a mistake, they got through without further problems: “I’m sure many others would have left or told the level 70 tank ‘Fuck you.’ But it worked out.”
The thread on reddit currently has over 3,200 upvotes and is one of the largest in the WoW Classic subreddit, highlighting that there is a person behind every player. One should therefore also behave humanely and not become insulting right away.
