For solo players, Dead by Daylight is merciless. Therefore, the developers now have plans to improve this – there is much more information about the whole team.
The horror game Dead by Daylight is most fun when played in a group. However, this is not always possible, so many survivors have to queue solo and end up getting “screwed” in the matches. Clearly, solo survivors have much less information than a team communicating on Discord. But that is about to change soon.
Through Twitter, the Dead by Daylight account has shown a new image that apparently comes from the development of the next major patch. In the image, “Secret Agent Dwelf” – the “Christmas Elf” variant of Dwight – shows a picture that is supposedly “Classified”, meaning strictly confidential.
What does the image show? The small details in the image are important. Because in the display of survivors on the left sidebar, there is now much new information accessible to the other survivors. This way, it will be possible to see what individual survivors are currently doing and how they are contributing to the success of the team.

This information will be permanently accessible to survivors – it is indicated by a small symbol next to the character. The killer does not see this information (logically).
This is how the community reacts: Most reactions to this announcement are quite positive. Because the “solo queue”, meaning signing up as a survivor without a group, is generally regarded as the worst experience in Dead by Daylight.
This is mainly because survivors in a group (“SWF” – “Survive with Friends”) have a massive advantage in communication. They can constantly discuss where the killer is, where there are still pallets, and how far the repairs of the generators have progressed.
Additionally, “solo survivors” can rely less on being rescued by their teammates. Clearly, one tends to leave a “stranger” behind rather than good friends.
What do you think of these changes? Good, sensible innovations to improve the survivors’ everyday life? Or is that too much and makes life harder for the killers?
A gamer wanted to buy a GeForce RTX 4090, currently the fastest graphics card on the market. Instead, he receives a job offer that he can’t refuse. He shares the entire story with the community.
For many gamers, building their own PC in their free time is a hobby. For many, this is the alternative when they do not want to buy a pre-built PC.
The purchase of a graphics card has now led a gamer to a job. The seller of the hardware was simultaneously the head of a company.
Gamer wants to pick up a used graphics card, instead receives a job offer
What happened to the user? A gamer wanted to upgrade his system and discovered an offer for an RTX 4090. The price was 2,800 Canadian US dollars (CAD), which is about 1,700 euros. In comparison, you pay around 2,000 euros in Germany for a new RTX 4090 (via geizhals.de).
When he wanted to pick up the graphics card, he was led into an office. Finally, he stood in front of the managing director, where he could pick up the model. He was offered not only the GPU but also a job. The user writes on reddit:
When I wanted to pick up [the GPU], the address was an office. I assumed it was an employee who would just meet me in the hallway and sell it to me, but when I went to the reception and asked for the seller, she said: “Do you have an appointment?” I explained the situation to her and she referred me to his office, where it turned out that he was the managing director! It’s a small/medium-sized company that operates esports consulting, and he mentioned that he needs someone to build PCs!
A few weeks later, I am now working there on weekends and building custom systems for him. I never thought I would get a job this way.
How real is this? In another post, he posted an excerpt from his employment contract to substantiate his story. A moderator has since deleted the image for security reasons. But overall, it seems quite credible.

Not everyone has such great luck when buying a graphics card
What is the current situation? Used models often represent an interesting alternative, as this way you can save a lot of money. Because not everyone is willing to pay thousands of euros on eBay for an RTX 3080.
But many gamers are currently hesitant about such offers, because miners are flooding the market with大量廉价的卡. And some now fear that mining cryptocurrencies may negatively affect the performance of the GPU afterward.
For instance, a user seized an allegedly great deal and bought an RTX 3080, but the joy did not last long. Because the purchased hardware caused some problems that earlier mining had caused:
Blizzard nerfs 7 of the 8 Mythic Keystone dungeons from Season 1 of WoW Dragonflight. After the first week, some of them were simply too hard for players. However, Blizzard is not ready to make too many changes yet.
Which dungeons are affected? The Ruby Life Pools and the Algeth’ar Academy were the absolute horror scenarios for many players in the first week of Season 1 in WoW Dragonflight. The dungeons often require hundreds of deaths and several hours to complete.
The combination of the current affixes of the week and the abilities that enemies and bosses bring makes the dungeons virtually unplayable at higher levels. Especially spellcasting classes literally find themselves unable to cast because they are constantly interrupted.
Now Blizzard is coming with a nerf that is set to hit these two dungeons and 5 more. The changes will go live with the next weekly reset on December 21 in Europe.
What will be nerfed now: In the Academy, the feared “Tree Boss” will be weaker, the Overgrown Ancient. Its add “Ancient Branch” will have 40% less health. Additionally, some enemies will deal less damage.
The Ruby Life Pools will receive significantly more adjustments:
Flammlinge will no longer cast Burning Touch
the two dragons Thunderjaw and Firemaw can be spotted from further away and their “Breath” abilities will now be cast for one second longer (3 seconds)
Fire Dancers will now channel their dance for 6 seconds (previously 4)
the periodic damage from Living Bomb will be reduced by 40%
the storm from Storm Channelers will deal 20% less damage and affect players for 20% shorter duration
Kokia Firehoof and her add as well as Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormstrider will have less health, and Kyrakka’s Flame Breath will only hit 3 targets now (previously 5)
Additionally, there will be some nerfs for the attack of Nokhud, the Hall of Valor, the Court of Stars, the Temple of the Jade Serpent and the Azure Vault. You can find all changes in the official WoW forum.
You can learn about the most important changes in Season 1 of Dragonflight in our overview here. The trailer summarizes the new features in Dragonflight:

“We don’t want to change too much”
The developers explained that they don’t want to change too much initially, since players need to get used to the new season, the affixes, and dungeons. However, the current problems in the dungeons are significant enough for a nerf.
The community is responding positively to the changes. It is welcomed that the enemies in the Nokhud attack will no longer be so annoying. Especially at the graveyard it was horrific to face certain groups (via reddit).
Healers also have reason to be happy. The dungeons were particularly exhausting for them because they had to heal the enormous damage, but couldn’t do so due to being constantly interrupted. With the planned changes, their job should become a bit easier again.
Blizzard has also already announced strong buffs for 7 classes. These will also be implemented with the maintenance on December 21. Some bosses should then be easier to master, at least for the respective classes.
The raid is also getting adjustments, particularly in Mythic mode. Here, the best guilds in the world are currently racing for the World First kill on the final boss Raszageth. Especially the two top guilds Echo and Team Liquid are making the race exciting:
In League of Legends, the 29-year-old Russian Danil “Diamondprox” Reshetnikov is considered a veteran; he participated in World Championships 4 times, the first time in 2012. In May 2022, he wanted to support his family with LoL and signed with a Norwegian team. Half a year later, however, it seems that the Russian has lost faith in e-sports.
Who is Diamondprox?
The now 29-year-old Russian comes from St. Petersburg and was already a big name in the first seasons of League of Legends, more than 10 years ago: In 2011, he made a name for himself as a jungler for “Team Empire,” whose core later celebrated great successes in Europe as Moscow Five and Gambit Gaming.
He played as a jungler and shone on champs like Lee Sin, Nasus, or Volibear. The Russian was regarded as someone who could establish champs as good jungle picks on his own in the early seasons, even if the champions were considered weak.
Between 2012 and 2018, Diamondprox participated in World Championships 4 times: 2012, 2013, 2017, and 2018. However, he did not achieve major international successes. His prize money from 10 years of LoL is estimated at $157,850 (via esportearnings).

Pro signs with team for “absolute minimum to support family”
This is the team he has now joined: In 2022, Diamondprox, at 29, had surely reached the end of his career: He signed with the Norwegian “BiFrost” in May 2022 and was set to compete in the regional league NLC, where teams from Scandinavia and Great Britain play against each other.
He says he made it clear to the team that he was playing for the “absolute minimum to support his family”.
“Contracts in this business are like toilet paper that bosses use to wipe their behinds”
What went wrong? In a post on Twitlonger, the Russian explains that he was never paid for his more than 1,000 hours of work for the club.
The team had kept him waiting for months, with statements about how hard it was to get him money in Russia – due to the sanctions. When a way was found in November to send him money, it was said that it just wasn’t the right time, waiting for sponsor funds.
Now the CEO of the team has resigned, and the money still hasn’t arrived. Instead, he received an email stating that the team is likely facing bankruptcy.
He says:
So essentially, they made a fool of me for months, wasted my time, made me go into debt because bills were piling up instead of me looking for new opportunities to earn money. […]
The whole situation has been stressing me out for months, and I am afraid to look for another LoL team. Especially because my best friend in e-sports, Edward, was also badly cheated.
No one cares what we signed; contracts in this business are like toilet paper and the owner of a team can wipe their ass with it […]
By my calculations, I have given BiFrost more than 1,000 hours of my labor, plus the time I trained for the Aurora Cup. I don’t know if I ever want to work that hard again, working more than 12 hours a day every day and then getting ZERO money while betraying my family by not supporting them better.
I hope there is such a thing as karma in this world and that it will hit them hard when it strikes.
What’s behind it: This is a phenomenon that keeps reoccurring. E-sports seems to be a hype for some investors, “the next big thing” that can be profitable. But only the top teams are really successful – for many others, it’s a subsidized business because hardly any revenue comes in.
Some teams from the second or third tier in e-sports therefore have enormous financial problems; the owners pump ten or hundreds of thousands of euros into it, eventually the money runs out, and the players ultimately bear the consequences.
There are often stories of players not being paid or players training and living under conditions that are life-threatening:
If you do not visit your house in Final Fantasy XIV for too long, you risk losing it. The developers at Square Enix will soon re-enable the process of demolishing unused properties.
With patch 6.3, what Square Enix had discontinued with the Endwalker expansion will return: If a house receives no visits for too long, it will be automatically demolished.
After 30 days, you will receive an email, then you must act quickly
If you are away for 30 days, your property is at risk. You will receive a notification via email and in the game under “Timers” it will be displayed in red that your house will soon be demolished if you do not visit it.
If you then return, everything is okay. For free company houses, it is sufficient for one member to visit the property; it does not have to be the leader.
When do the days start counting? The 30-day timer begins as soon as patch 6.3 comes to the MMORPG. At least for players who have visited their house in the last year, when the timer was switched off.
If you or your free company have not visited the property during this time, the timer continues where it left off on December 5, 2021. So, there may be very little time left to save the house.
When is the patch coming? Update 6.3 is expected to arrive in Final Fantasy XIV in early January. The developers have not yet announced a specific date.
What do you think about the process? Are you glad that more properties will soon be available for purchase? Or are you now afraid of losing your house if you do not log in for 30 days, for whatever reason? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments here on MeinMMO!
In the German MMORPG Tibia, there exists an extremely rare and secret achievement: To achieve it, one must discover that a harmless innkeeper is actually a vampire. For 10 years, no one had managed to earn this rare achievement until a player recently went to great lengths to obtain it.
What kind of achievement is this? The achievement is one of the rarest and most mysterious in the history of the German MMORPG Tibia, which has been developed in Regensburg for over 25 years. The achievement is called “His True Face”.
During a quest, players visit the innkeeper Armenius. At a specific quest step, there is a tiny chance that Armenius will teleport the player to his cellar and reveal himself as a vampire. If a player experiences this, they earn the achievement “His true face”.
As reported by a Polish MMORPG site, no one had been able to obtain this achievement for 10 years (via mmorpg.org).
There is no clear method known for how to obtain the achievement: People visit this innkeeper “every day”, hoping he might finally attack them as a vampire. It is also said that the highest chance of seeing the vampire occurs during a quest step that sends you to Marenius.
In any case, the achievement is highly sought after. Therefore, players experiment with ways to obtain it. One player recently resorted to extreme methods to secure the achievement.

A player kills himself so often that his level is low enough
How did a player manage to obtain it? A wizard named “Ia Goh” set out to obtain the achievement: For this, the player, who was over level 200, let himself be killed more than 300 times starting December 14, as evident from his character log (via tibia).
Because in Tibia you lose experience and can also lose levels when you die, he fell from over level 200 to level 6 during this suicide marathon. Every 30 seconds during that time, he lost additional levels.
As the Polish MMORPG site reports, during this “delevel marathon”, he was ultimately able to return to the starting location 34 times to repeatedly complete the quest chain where he had the chance of being attacked by Armenius.
After 4 days, on December 18 at 12:57 PM, he finally managed to get killed by Aremenius and obtain the coveted, secret achievement.
Tibia comes from a time when MMORPGs still had secrets
What is special about the achievement? Tibia comes from a time before MMORPGs were standardized and decoded: It was developed by students in Regensburg and does not follow any “textbook”: Back then, there was simply nothing, and the creators of the game had to figure things out themselves about how MMORPGs work and function.
Because of this, extremely mysterious and unique things are possible in the MMORPG, which give off a mythical flair.
The developers are still careful today not to reveal too much about such secrets, allowing players to discover them for themselves.
This leads to such “secret achievements” being hunted and deciphered by players on their own, resulting in strange methods and great stories.
In MMORPGs before WoW, there were still big secrets:
In another post the thread starter explains, however, that it is not a “real” system but rather an AI-generated image. The system can probably be recreated with a 3D printer. He writes about it:
And yes, it is an AI-generated image with MidJourney. As a designer, I find AI extremely frightening and exciting at the same time. AI has the advantage of approaching things with less bias and not being constrained by creative fatigue.
As some of you have already said, this build is probably possible with 3D printing and the right plastic and LED connections, and the AI provides a great creative template!
What is Midjourney anyway? Midjourney is an independent research laboratory that creates proprietary software for artificial intelligence that generates images from text descriptions. This means you write a sentence or several words, and the AI generates an image from that. Midjourney took Twitter by storm and amazed viewers.
Manufacturer shows sleek case, gamers are thrilled: “Great design! Goes directly onto my wishlist”
Community is impressed: “The PC crashes as soon as the temperatures are too low”
How does the community react? Users under the post discussed eagerly about the image. Many find the case quite impressive and demand that the user should now also recreate the system that way.
Some explain that such AI images can also help in searching for ideas for the next, future gaming PC. After all, such images would inspire and help to think outside one’s own limits.
If you are still looking for more inspiration for a future build or ideas for a new gaming PC, then take a look at the following cases. Here we show you how impressive some gaming systems can look. And all systems can theoretically be recreated if you take the time:
Oldschool RuneScape is, as the name suggests, really old school. The game is generally at the state of RuneScape from 2007 and was released in early 2013 to revive the old times. But now a completely new skill is coming to the MMORPG for the first time in 10 years.
Why is a new skill so special? RuneScape is a true MMORPG classic. The game was originally released in January 2001 and has been very successful to this day. Currently, there are two versions of the MMORPG, the “regular” RuneScape and the Oldschool RuneScape that was released in 2013.
Oldschool RuneScape is at the state of the game from August 2007, which many fans are very satisfied with, as the game has regularly appeared in all relevant MMORPG top lists.
Although there have been continuous improvements implemented over time, none were a new skill in all the time of Oldschool RuneScape. That is supposed to change now because that’s what the community wants.
How did this come about? After the desire for a new skill arose more frequently in the community, the developers initiated a voting process. 191,000 fans participated in this vote. A full 80.9% were in favor of the new skill.
All without knowing what kind of ability it is supposed to be. Because the developers want to decide this together with the community in the next step.
During the year 2023, the skill is supposed to be implemented in Oldschool RuneScape, a full 10 years after the launch of the MMORPG.
Oldschool RuneScape is also one of our 5 old MMORPGs that are still actively played:

The new skill is being developed together with the players
How is the new skill created? What exactly it will be like is currently still unclear. However, the developers are building the skill in a complex development phase together with the community. How this works in detail is explained by Community Manager Ayiza in a video (via YouTube).
According to this, there should be further surveys in the next phase regarding what kind of skill players actually want in the game and in which direction development should go. Then they want to pitch several different skills and let the players vote and discuss again.
In the next step, a skill will then be selected, which will subsequently be refined and the community should vote on it again. Only then do the developers want to finalize their decision on the selected skill and bring it into the game in a beta phase.
What does the community say? In a thread on reddit, the topic is naturally being hotly discussed, so we want to give some fans a chance to speak (via reddit):
BoogieTheHedgehog writes: ‘The result is incredibly good, even higher than the 78% they were expecting. The big question is whether they will ever find anything that all yes-voters can agree on.’
Ploki122 says: ‘By the way, this is the voting with the most participants ever. In general, only two votes have received over 100,000 votes, and the new skill is even bigger than the Ironman mode.’
philly4yaa is excited: ‘Bingo! This is a great result from the community. Finally, we are getting a new skill!’
Are you currently playing RuneScape and have an opinion on the topic? Are you perhaps affected and want to participate in the survey for the new skill? Or did you maybe say no to the skill? Feel free to let us know in the comments here at MeinMMO.
In Pokémon GO the Spotlight Hour with Arktip starts today, December 20. We will show you everything about the bonuses, Shinys, and the times of the event.
What kind of event is this? Today, the second-to-last Spotlight Hour in 2022 for Pokémon GO starts. During this event, a single Pokémon is in focus and appears almost everywhere in the wild. At the beginning of the month, the developers from Niantic already revealed which Pokémon and bonuses to expect.
In line with the events, there is a bonus that rewards you with Stardust, XP, or more candy. We will show you everything you need to know about the Spotlight Hour with Arktip here in the overview.
Spotlight Hour on December 20 – Start, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for 60 minutes. Around 7:00 PM, the spawns should normalize again and the bonus will be turned off.
What bonuses are there? You will encounter Arktip almost everywhere in the wild. The Pokémon comes from the sixth generation of games and is an Ice type. It can evolve into Arktilas.
You will receive double the amount of candy for catching Pokémon. Keep in mind that this applies not only to catches of Arktip but to all Pokémon caught during the event.
In the next Spotlight Hour, you can expect Petznief:
Is it worth it to attend the Spotlight Hour today? As an attacker, Arktip is not particularly strong. Its evolution Arktilas is at least in PvE in the midfield, but there are many stronger alternatives. In PvP, it ranks in the lower midfield of the Super and Hyper League, and it’s slightly better in the Master League. It will not be a must-attend event for you.
Hearthstone is trying to appeal to new and old players. In line with the Christmas event, there are plenty of free card packs.
In Hearthstone, the expansion “March of the Lich King” was released just a few days ago, and Death Knights are dominating the battlefields – whether in ranked mode or in the arena. At the same time, the Christmas festivities offers are starting. In addition to some nice offers in the shop, there are also many free card packs that you can collect with just a few clicks. We’ll tell you what’s inside and how to get the free cards.
What is free? All players can get 10 card packs for free. The packs come from these expansions:
2x Forged in the Barrens
2x United in Stormwind
2x Split in Alterac Valley
2x Voyage to the Sunken City
2x Murder at Castle Nathria
10 packs for free – you just need to pick them up from the shop.
How to get the card packs? To get the card packs, you need to start Hearthstone and then go to the shop page. There, you have to scroll down past the various offers almost to the very bottom and you can claim the gift package.
New accounts get even more: Those who have not yet started with Hearthstone receive even bigger incentives. Blizzard grants additional 50 card packs to complete newcomers who created their account after December 13, 2022. To do this, you need to complete the tutorial and then receive 10 card packs each from the last 5 standard expansions. So, if you’re looking for players over the holidays, it might be worth bringing a few friends into the game – they will have a pleasant start right away.

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the U.S. federal agency for trade, Fortnite developer Epic Games must pay a fine of 259 million euros for allegedly violating children’s privacy with the battle royale shooter. Additionally, Epic Games must pay 232 million euros in refunds to players for the use of “dark patterns.”
What kind of fine is this? Epic Games is facing a record fine of 275 million USD (equivalent to 259 million euros). According to the agency, this is the highest fine ever imposed for violating an FTC rule.
Why does Epic Games have to pay this fine? The FTC has determined that the developer studio violated children’s privacy with the game Fortnite. An official statement reads:
The FTC lawsuit against Epic includes two separate, record-setting settlements. Under a federal court order requested by the Department of Justice on behalf of the FTC, Epic will pay a fine of 275 million USD for violating the COPPA rule – the highest penalty ever imposed for a violation of an FTC rule.
Furthermore, according to the FTC statement, Epic Games is required to implement privacy settings for children and adolescents that ensure voice and text communication is turned off by default.
What rule did Epic Games violate? The FTC’s accusation against Epic Games is a “violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule” by failing to notify parents and obtain consent. The FTC states:
The FTC claimed that Epic knew that many children played Fortnite – as surveys of Fortnite users, licensing and marketing of Fortnite toys and merchandise, player support, and other communications from the company showed – and Epic collected personal data from children without obtaining verifiable parental consent first.
Fortnite’s default settings harm children and adolescents
The FTC statement also mentions that Epic imposes unreasonable hurdles on parents requesting the deletion of their children’s personal data.
Another violation of Fortnite regarding children’s privacy according to the FTC is: “The default settings harm children and adolescents:”
According to the FTC, the default setting for text and voice chat in Fortnite harmed children and adolescents as they were matched with strangers to play the battle royale shooter together.
The damage caused to children and adolescents while playing Fortnite is described by the FTC as follows:
Children and adolescents were bullied, threatened, harassed, and exposed to dangerous and psychologically traumatizing topics such as suicide while playing Fortnite.
FTC forces Epic Games to pay $245 million in refunds to players
What kind of refunds are these? In addition to the fine imposed on Epic Games for violating children’s privacy, the FTC report states that Epic Games must pay 245 million dollars (equivalent to 231 million euros) in refunds to players.
The FTC directs Epic Games to compensate consumers for the use of “dark patterns” as well as its billing practices. Here are the three accusations the FTC made against Epic:
Epic Games used dark patterns to lure users into making purchases
Epic Games charged account holders unauthorized fees
Epic Games blocked users from accessing purchased content
With the so-called “dark patterns,” Epic Games allegedly employed design patterns in Fortnite to entice players into unwanted in-game purchases. The “inconsistent and confusing button configuration” reportedly caused players to incur unwanted costs by pressing a single button.
Moreover, account holders are said to have been charged unauthorized fees, as until 2018 children and other users could purchase cosmetic content and battle passes simply by pressing buttons, without requiring verification from the account holder or parents.
Additionally, Epic Games is alleged to have blocked the accounts of players who disputed unauthorized charges with their credit card companies. As a result, those affected lost access to their purchased content.

After 8 years, Destiny 2 is losing one of its most communicative community managers. Dylan Gafner, better known as dmg04, is leaving Bungie at the end of 2022. His announcement spread like wildfire in the community, and Guardians from all over the world personally thank him for his strong and long-standing commitment.
Normally, the messages from Bungie’s community manager Dylan “dmg04” Gafner have always contained interesting or important details about the well-known loot shooter Destiny 2 for many years. They are therefore closely followed by many Guardians. But on December 15, everything was different.
The community manager shared: Instead of game news, dmg04 announced via Twitter that he will step down from his position as Senior Community Manager at Bungie at the end of the year, on December 30, 2022. Thus, Destiny 2, after DeeJ in 2020, is losing another well-known and beloved face, whose signature characteristics are a yellow cap, a friendly smile, and a golden heart.

This is how dmg04 informed the Guardians that he is quitting.
As Dylan mentioned, he still does not know where his future will take him, but he is looking forward to ‘new opportunities and new challenges’.
I believe I could write a mega TWAB blog post about the amazing experiences I’ve had during my time here at Bungie. […] I can’t imagine another position where I would have the pleasure of working with so many great people and so many great teams.
writes dmg04 in the statement announcing his upcoming departure from the developer
It is the end of an era: Since May 2015, dmg04 has been a fixture in the community team and thus the first point of contact for Guardians. After that, he represented Bungie and Destiny 2 to the community for almost 8 years, which is not always an easy job.
However, he was not just a contact person, but also a dedicated Guardian. dmg04 was not simply in the middle of the community. He also always had an open ear for the players’ problems, especially when the news he had to announce was bad. His heart remained loyal to Destiny 2, even when he shouldn’t have been working. Before the launch of the DLC ‘Shadowkeep’, for example, dmg04 had to take a break due to a heart problem.
Until I’m back in the office, feel free to tell me to put my phone down and stop working if you see that I’m commenting on mistakes or problems. But you can bet that I’ll still dip my toe into a few games in between, even if I’ll be seeing doctors and spending time with family.
dmg04 shared during his health break
Moreover, he was always concerned with Bungie’s social projects, which he continues to engage in.
2022 was the toughest year for dmg04 at Destiny 2
Parts of the Destiny 2 community spread more hate than optimism in 2022.
Many Guardians have wondered what led dmg04 to this decision, as this could not be specifically extracted from his official farewell message. But after the turbulent community year of 2022 that lies behind the Senior Community Manager, many nonetheless have a strong suspicion.
Open threats from players may have influenced the decision: Since the beginning of 2022, there have been repeated open and sometimes frightening threats from Destiny 2 players – especially against the Senior Community Manager dmg04. He was actively threatened along with his family, ‘that someone was moving close to him – and it was no longer safe for him’.
This led Bungie to drastically reduce its communication with players for a while. The Senior Community Manager himself had to take a longer rehab leave and seek help from a doctor and therapist. At that time, he openly informed the fans that he had begun taking antidepressants.
[…] He is too kind to explicitly say it in his statement, but [these toxic players] are the reason he took a break from his mental health this year, and I wouldn’t be at all shocked if that is also the reason he decided to leave Bungie altogether.’
Guardians around the world say “Thank you”
This photo was shared by Cozmo (seen on the left), a long-time colleague of dmg04, via Twitter.
No matter what reasons dmg04 had, it is clear that he was a reliable point of contact for many players regarding Destiny 2. Therefore, it is not surprising that Guardians around the world reacted with messages and videos to his post after the announcement.
Just as his messages were always communicative and honest, the Guardians pay honor to his long-standing commitment. As do his colleagues at Bungie.
So far, his tweet has received 36,910 hearts and nearly 4,000 responses on Twitter from Guardians wanting to thank him. Cozmo, Global Community Lead at Bungie, also shared a photo with dmg04 on Twitter, writing:
We had a damn good ride together. Working together over the past seven years has been a great time. It was a privilege to watch you become one of the best community managers in our industry. I wish you all the best for your next adventures!
Cozmo, teammate of dmg04 and Global Community Lead at Bungie
Also in the “This Week at Bungie” blog, they said farewell with the words: “When you are great, you never really leave, so this is not a goodbye but a thank you. And so it is. Thank you, dmg04.”
A particularly successful farewell comes from Guardians in the British Destiny 2 community, from lore expert “My Name is Byf”. He shared this emotional video on dmg04 with the words “A bit chilly in Seattle, but feeling the warmth. Much love to all Guardians in the UK! Thank you all!”

Who will step into his shoes? This question remains unanswered so far. Besides dmg04, the two most well-known names for community management are dmg04’s longtime ‘best buddy’ Chris “Cozmo” Shannon and newcomer Liana “Hippie” Ruppert.
She has already taken a prominent role in Bungie’s recent announcement previews for the upcoming Lightfall DLC and has been writing the “This Week at Bungie” blogs for quite some time, where she likes to hide secret messages.
What do you think about dmg04’s departure? Was he a good contact person for you at Bungie for Destiny 2 or will you not miss him? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.

In League of Legends is “Yuumi” quite hated. Especially the professionals can’t stand the cat, as she can connect with another champion and thus become untouchable. Riot Games has taken the feedback into account and announced a major overhaul. However, this misses the real problem, according to the players.
What is the problem with Yuumi? Yuumi is a supporter who can attach herself to other champions. Once she sits on a champion, she can no longer be targeted but can still use abilities. Thus, she heals and buffs her ally while also dealing damage. Her ultimate ability “Final Chapter” is particularly strong, allowing her to hold enemies in place.
However, overall, Yuumi has rather weak stats. Looking at ranked matches from Iron to Challenger, she has just a win rate of 47.2% (via LeagueofGraphs). Especially the professionals fully exploit the potential of the champion, while she is often useless in the lower ranks.
What is Riot doing now? They want to completely overhaul Yuumi. Their goal: The champion should help newcomers to cope better with LoL while simultaneously becoming weaker for professionals.
However, the planned adjustments are not well-received.

A spectacular video about League of Legends has now 138 million views – Shows how huge LoL is
“How can you learn the basics when you are untouchable?”
What exactly will be changed? The exact details are not yet final, but the core mechanic of Yuumi – that she can sit on other champions and thus becomes invulnerable – will remain. However, she is supposed to deal less damage and rather focus on buffing allies.
Riot wants to adjust her abilities so that opponents can more easily avoid them. This was very difficult, especially when Yuumi sat on a highly mobile champion.
What are the players criticizing? At first, many players are surprised that Yuumi is supposed to be a beginner champion like Garen or Annie. After all, she costs 6,300 Blue Essences and thus already requires a few hours of play.
But even if beginners play her, her style is said to be rather counterproductive, says Reddit user Plainnoob:
How can you learn the basics when you are untouchable for the duration of a game? Yuumi is neither an Annie nor a Garen. Yes, you may need the lowest skill in the game for her. But she is also the most niche character in terms of mechanics. The skills are clearly not transferable. The permanent untouchability is a noob trap that will lead you to fail with any other champ.
Players further criticize that the adjustments by Riot Games will not change the hatred for Yuumi, as the core problem remains: She remains untouchable as long as she sits on a champion.
Some players predict that with the planned adjustments, Yuumi will become even weaker in the lower ranks, while remaining annoying for professionals.
What are the players demanding? On Reddit, there are various solutions proposed for Yuumi. One player suggests that Yuumi simply takes on part of the damage when she sits on another champion. This way, the ally would take less damage, and Yuumi herself would have to watch out to jump off in time before she dies.
Another player suggests that Yuumi can only sit on a champion for a limited time. This would significantly increase the skill level, as it would require planning when to leave the ally, so as not to catch an even worse moment when it happens automatically.
In any case, almost all players on Reddit agree that the planned changes are going in the wrong direction. However, how they will turn out concretely will only become clear in 2023.
Balancing is a sensitive topic in LoL. For example, the lead balancer at Riot Games tried out a weak champion himself and was promptly banned for it:
In October 2020, 5 major MMO nerds gathered around WoW streamer Asmongold and formed the organization One True King (OTK). Now, serious allegations have been raised against Rich Campbell, one of the founding members – while the internal investigation against another founder is still ongoing.
Content Warning: This article deals with the topic of sexual assault. Although we consciously refrain from depicting graphic details, the subject may be distressing for some readers. The account of the events can be found behind a spoiler tab, so you can skip it.
What’s happening at OTK? On December 15, Twitch streamer Azalia Lexi made serious allegations against OTK founder Rich Campbell. She elaborated on the allegations the following day in a TwitLonger post.
Rich Campbell is active as a Twitch streamer and caster for WoW. In 2020, he founded the organization One True King together with other MMO nerds Asmongold, Mizkif, and Tips Out. But that’s now over.
Twitch streamer raises allegations against OTK founder
What are the allegations? Azalia Lexi and Rich Campbell allegedly had a friendly and, starting in 2019, also a sexual on-off relationship for over 4 years. During this time, Campbell is said to have treated the streamer at times like a sex object or showered her with affection, according to Azalia Lexi.
After Azalia Lexi reportedly rejected several advances from Campbell, she agreed to meet him in January 2022 while she was in New York, where the content creator had an apartment. However, she had concerns about going to his apartment.
This is how Azalia Lexi describes the events of the evening
Campbell is said to have invited Azalia Lexi to meet him at a cinema that was part of his apartment complex – that was not his apartment. In the cinema, Campbell allegedly tried to get the streamer to lie down on him. She then told him she was not there to sleep with him.
Campbell reportedly then claimed they could not stay in the cinema any longer and had to go to his apartment. However, he promised Azalia Lexi to respect her boundaries, so she agreed.
In Campbell’s apartment, sexually aggressive behavior and subsequent rape allegedly occurred.
This is what Rich Campbell says about the allegations: The content creator responded to the allegations on the same day. Via Twitter, he stated that he had read the statement and wanted to share his side of the story. However, he needed time to organize his thoughts.
Are there consequences? In his Twitter post, Campbell also stated that OTK had asked him to step down from his position in the organization. He complied. Hours later, his appearance as a caster at the WoW event “Race to World First” was canceled.
Asmongold: “You are not fans. You are not on our side.”
What were the reactions? Although many Twitter users expressed their sympathy for Azalia Lexi, the allegations were also met with skepticism.
Especially fans of OTK or Rich Campbell did not seem to want to easily accept the allegations and demanded at least evidence. In a stream, Asmongold commented on the situation and also harshly addressed the supposed supporters.

What does Asmongold say? The allegations against Campbell reportedly came to light during a stream by Asmongold. The WoW streamer was apparently overwhelmed by the situation at that moment and said it was damn uncomfortable to comment on it right now while playing a new game.
Shortly after, Asmongold ended the stream. The next day, the streamer took the time to extensively address the situation surrounding the allegations against Rich Campbell. In doing so, he distanced himself from Rich Campbell and supposed fans.
I have seen many people saying that it is not true, that she is making everything up. Please do not do that. You are not our fans, you are not on our side. We are on their [Plural] side. That’s why Rich is gone.
Asmongold also made it clear that he has no tolerance for hostility towards the victims of Campbell’s actions. He urged his viewers to refrain from sending messages to the victims:
If you send messages to these girls and try to […] sow doubt and make them feel bad for coming forward with their story, then you are not our fans. You are not my fans. You are not helping us, you are not helping anyone.
His viewers reacted positively to Asmongold’s clear stance and flooded the chat with hearts. Nonetheless, Asmongold ended the stream after a few hours, stating he could not think clearly.
The allegations against Rich Campbell are particularly striking for Asmongold, as an internal investigation against another OTK founding member is already underway: Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo is said to have covered up sexual assaults by a friend who is a Twitch streamer and attempted to intimidate victims.
In an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, Sony’s Vice President Hideaki Nishino announced that there could be new PS5 hardware next year. Shortly before, an insider already explained that some developers have even possessed a successor model to the current PS5. So is the PS5 Pro possibly coming in 2023? You can find all the information in this article.
Although the PS5 was only released two years ago and the console was hardly available for a long time, there have been rumors about a Pro model for a while now. In fact, there have already been several revisions of the original console, of which the latest version allows you to save about 10% of power during gaming. It is clear: Sony is already working on improved hardware for their latest console.
In an interview with the online magazine Famitsu, Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President of Sony’s Platform Experience Division, has reignited the rumors of a new model of the PS5.
What are these speculations? After Nishino was approached by the reporter about the fact that the PS4 Pro was released about three years after the launch of the original console, he said:
By the end of the fiscal year 2022, the cumulative sales of the PS5 will exceed 37 million units and we believe it will be a very important time for the platform. I will not be able to talk about specifics at the moment, but I hope you are looking forward to next year already.
Of course, this statement is not an official confirmation, but it still implies in the context of the previous question that we can indeed expect a hardware update for the PS5 starting April 2023 – the new fiscal year for Sony.
That Nishino refers to the PS VR2, which will also be released in the new year, is possible, but highly unlikely, as it was already announced a while ago and is now available for pre-order.
Are there currently other rumors about a new PS5? Just recently, new speculations emerged again about an upcoming new model of the coveted console, after the well-known industry insider Tom Henderson claimed that such a version already exists in the hands of some developers and “works perfectly.” This new model reportedly features a removable drive that can be seamlessly attached to the console’s chassis.

Such an innovative – and possibly significantly smaller – model could help Sony accelerate the manufacturing process of the coveted console in the future. Instead of the current two versions – the Disk and Digital Edition – there would only be one product.
This adjustment would also provide customers with more flexibility, as purchasing the drive allows one to upgrade to the Disk Version of the PS5 at any time.
Although the situation regarding the availability of the PS5 has improved tremendously in recent weeks, Sony has set ambitious goals for 2023. Since the launch of the next-gen console was not optimal due to the pandemic and the many related difficulties, the Japanese company may seize this opportunity to more or less aim for a “re-launch” of the console.
Do you want to buy a PS5 now that it is finally possible – but you don’t know which console to choose? MeinMMO explains what you should consider with PS5 vs. PS5 Digital Edition.
The King of YouTube, Mr. Beast, hosted a tournament in Fortnite : the Extreme Challenge Fortnite Tournament. In the end, a 20-year-old Dane came out on top. However, not everyone agrees with Anas’s victory: “normal players” find it annoying that a professional won, who has already earned good money with Fortnite over the last two years.
What kind of tournament was it? On Saturday, December 17th, an unusual Fortnite tournament took place, hosted by Mr. Beast:
The winner received one million US dollars
For the top 100,000 in the tournament, there was at least an exclusive “Beast Brella Umbrella” included.
The developer of Fortnite, Epic Games, said: You can play as many matches as you can within the time: only the game with the highest score counts. The winner then wins one million US dollars.
In the tournament, players had to dodge “storms”, could collect coins, and had to score as many points as possible before the timer ran out.
It didn’t have much to do with the “normal Fortnite”, which is played as Battle Royale, but rather looked like Fall Guys in Fortnite clothing.

Who won? In the end, the Danish Fortnite pro Anas emerged victorious. He plays for David Beckham’s clan “The Guild”.
He scored a total of 142,098 points, placing him well over 1,500 points ahead of a player from Holland and another from Canada.
He is said to have trained for the tournament throughout the week and was able to deliver his best performance when it counted.

Some call for excluding pros from cash tournaments
How is this being discussed? The tournament is a bit strange because only the 1st place wins so much money and the rest go home empty-handed. The comments are therefore divided.
While many congratulate the winner, calling it a great achievement, there are also some voices that find it unfair that a pro won:
“Honestly, it’s unfair that a pro gamer won – I was also in the top percent, so I’m not super angry. But how about doing some cash tournaments and excluding pro players?”
“That’s just great … the winner is a sweaty, rich Fortnite pro. As always, the rich get richer – Mister Beast is a joke!”

There were some tweets that found it unfair that a pro won.
“I personally believe that they should have excluded pros and creators from the tournament. The skill gap, equipment, and connection definitely play a role. The man literally won $400,000 in the last few years, but it was still a tough task. GG, it was fun.”
The winner earned $430,000 with Fortnite in 2021 and 2020
What’s so bitter about it? Well, the 20-year-old Anas has already earned $430,000 in tournaments with Fortnite in the last two years before the win, consistently placing in the top 5 at the FNCS, the online esports tournament for Fortnite, earning between $125,000 and $25,000.
The additional one million US dollars is certainly nice, but some might have needed the money more. Therefore, one can understand the criticism, especially from amateur players: Anas, as a pro player, obviously has much better conditions to win such a competition than normal players.
Ultimately, however, this is a sports competition; one cannot really complain about Messi winning at the World Cup, who has already achieved so much in his life:
EA has done it again. They simulated the FIFA World Cup with the help of FIFA 23 and indeed predicted the correct winner once more.
The FIFA World Cup is over and Lionel Messi was able to win the title with his Argentinians and raise the coveted trophy to the sky of Qatar yesterday Sunday. But this is no surprise for EA Sports.
For they were already right in 2010, 2014, and 2018 with their predictions.
What a simulation it was! The simulation by EA Sports includes much more than just the tournament winner. They even showed a complete tournament bracket with top scorers and other awards in an overview (via EA).
However, the predictions here were somewhat weaker. Instead of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé was the player with the most World Cup goals. However, they were also correct with the winner of the golden glove, Emiliano Martínez, as well as the best player of the tournament, Lionel Messi.
But the final turned out quite differently than EA expected. Instead of playing against Brazil, Argentina played the final against France. The Brazilians were already eliminated in the quarter-finals.
On reddit, EA’s fourth correct World Cup prediction is making big waves. The community is heatedly discussing the mysteriously good predictions of the development studio. We’ve picked out some exciting voices for you.
Hugott: “That is more than strange.”
TonyMartial786: “Damn, that’s crazy. Please predict England as the winner in 2026. Thank you.”
generik89: “I saw this prediction before the World Cup and bet some money on Argentina. Thanks, EA.”
realfan91: “That is very interesting. How can one have the information on who wins? You can’t tell me it’s luck.”
What do you think of the prediction? Feel free to tell us in the comments!
But not only EA predicted Argentina as world champion. A French gaming journalist also simulated the tournament using FIFA 23:
Until a few weeks ago, entrepreneur Samuel Bankman-Fried was the shining golden boy of crypto exchanges, with a fortune estimated at over 20 billion US dollars, and he had a big deal with Riot Games running, who distribute his favorite game League of Legends . But all of that changed in the last few weeks. In a filing to the court, it now sounds like Riot Games wishes Sam Bankman-Fried had never discovered LoL for himself.
How did the man become so rich?
Sam Bankman-Fried started as an intern in 2013 at a company that trades financial instruments and fully joined after graduating from MIT. In the following years, he made a fortune with stock trading.
In 2019, he founded the crypto exchange FTX, and his fortune grew to 26 billion US dollars during that time.
He was regarded as a visionary, someone who truly understood the big hype topic “crypto”.
Company of crypto genius enters million-dollar deals with TSM and LCS
What does he have to do with League of Legends? Sam Bankman-Fried referred to LoL as his favorite hobby. He said he spent much more time on it than one would expect from someone who regularly prefers to work instead of sleep.
It was said that he closed huge deals and sold investors his visions while he was actually playing LoL. Although he wasn’t that good at LoL, still.
His enthusiasm for LoL also became part of his business when he made a big deal with the LoL team TSM in June 2021: Since then, TSM has appeared as “TSM FTX”.
In August 2022, he also closed a massive deal with Riot Games worth 96 million US dollars. His crypto exchange FTX became a sponsor of LoL’s US League LCS: Over 12.5 million $ were to flow into Riot Games’ coffers every year. However, only the first installment of 6.25 million $ was paid.

Life and wealth of crypto genius collapses within days
What went wrong? In November 2022, the life and wealth of Sam Bankman-Fried collapsed. On a single day in November, on 8.11.2022, FTX got into serious trouble: As investor confidence in the crypto exchange faded, 94% of Sam Bankman-Fried’s wealth also disappeared into thin air.
In the weeks that followed, it became clear that the crypto exchange had been operating with unscrupulous business practices. FTX filed for bankruptcy.
This is how Riot Games reacts now: Riot Games has now detailed their view of things in a 22-page filing to the bankruptcy court in Delaware (via courtlistener).
They see themselves severely harmed by the fact that Sam Bankman-Fried was seen as so closely associated with his favorite game League of Legends and say that they have suffered “monetary and non-monetary damages”:
Before and during the media firestorm, Riot’s image and reputation with the customer base were inextricably linked to FTX through the former CEO Mr. Bankman-Fried. Media companies and Twitter commentators spread the image of Mr. Bankman-Fried playing League of Legends – the game from Riot Games – at the same time FTX was going under.
Mr. Bankman-Fried is famous for his dedication to the game. It is well known among investors that he played LoL during meetings.
Riot Games lists in detail the collapse of FTX and the mistakes of Sam Bankman-Fried over 22 pages.
Meanwhile, they emphasize their own high moral standards and mention a clause that allows Riot Games to terminate such contracts in case of moral wrongdoing.
These images created a public narrative that Mr. Bankman-Fried’s interest in League of Legends, once seen as human and relatable, was now irresponsible and juvenile. Articles that described the situation as a “hellscape” contributed to the public disgust for FTX.
Apparently, Riot is now also planning to quickly get out of the deal because they intend to close a deal with another crypto exchange, and FTX currently blocks that spot.
From the idea that FTX could stick to the lucrative deal, Riot Games has long given up. And apparently, they would have preferred to have had nothing to do with Sam Bankman-Fried in recent weeks.
The new action RPG Diablo 4 is now available for pre-order. The first fans have already bought the game – some of them without paying directly for it. They simply used money from World of Warcraft for that. MeinMMO explains how this works and what you need to pay attention to.
How does the purchase work? For several years now, there has been the so-called “WoW Token” in World of Warcraft. This has two functions:
you can buy it for €20 and then sell it to other players for gold in the game
you can buy it in the game for gold and then redeem it for playtime or €13 credit in Battle.net
The current price of the token is determined by the supply and demand of players in a region and is not set by Blizzard. The credit can be used to purchase other games like Call of Duty or the upcoming Diablo 4.
If you pre-order Diablo 4, you will also be able to participate in the closed beta, which is supposed to take place before the release on June 6. You can already find the first impressions from various testers in the first reports on Diablo 4. You can see the latest trailer here:

Diablo 4: The trailer for the release date
20 hours of WoW for the most expensive version of Diablo 4
This is how long you need for the purchase: You can earn gold in World of Warcraft from many different sources. You get a significant amount while leveling up, but most of it comes from targeted “farming” at maximum level.
Your earnings always depend on what exactly you find and how much you can get for it in the auction house. A token currently costs 258,965 gold on EU servers (as of December 19). So you would need for the purchase of Diablo 4:
Will it stay that way permanently? The token is currently at its lowest level in months (via wowtokenprices.com). This is partly because many players want to quickly accumulate gold with the release of Dragonflight and are buying tokens for that.
Traditionally, tokens become cheaper at a release and more expensive towards the end of an expansion. However, Dragonflight rewards you with quite large amounts of gold, which could mean that prices will not rise significantly for the time being.
At the moment, it is therefore difficult to say whether the token will soon rise significantly or even drop further.
Is it legal? Yes, Blizzard explicitly allows the use of Battle.net credit to purchase digital goods in the store. You should just not obtain gold from third-party sources, as this would violate the terms of use.
Diablo 4 will also have a battle pass with a paid path. You will probably be able to buy it with WoW gold as soon as it is released:
