Some of these devices are designed to work faster than the normal ARK machinery, while others simply fit better with the chosen building style – after all, a chemistry lab table doesn’t visually belong in a medieval castle.
The last major bonus provided by mods are “Quality of Life” improvements and new content designed to make the gaming experience as pleasant as possible. Some do lower the difficulty level of the game, but those who do not want that can always opt out. You don’t have to use a mod if you don’t want to. For everyone else, these tools are true luxury changes.
A popular example is the “Awesom SpyGlass”, a telescope that displays the health bar, stunning progress, level, and gender of a tamed as well as a wild dino from quite a distance.
There is also an auction house that allows trading with players from other servers, as well as an upgrade station that lets you upgrade your weapons and tools if you have sufficient resources.
The list of helpful mods is endless – a mod for finding your creatures, a mod for better storing items, and much more. And even if you want to make things harder in ARK, you will surely find something.
Mods have massively enhanced my gaming experience in ARK and provided me with new motivation to play the survival title again. If the community mod support for the remaster is even remotely as good as it was for ARK: Survival Evolved, then I firmly believe that the remaster and the implementation of mods will significantly improve the gameplay on PS5.
While I am a big fan of mods in ARK, I do not want to simplify the gaming experience fundamentally. For instance, I’m not a fan of flying creatures:
New World has been offering a Battle Pass for almost two weeks. This is controversial because the premium version contains some useful materials and items. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch is very enthusiastic about the pass – which is less about the rewards and more about the tasks.
New World has been one of my absolute favorite MMORPGs since its release in September 2021. Especially the game world, the world-building, and the combat system have captivated me.
However, there were always phases where I took a longer break or didn’t look at certain updates.

Varangian Knights, hidden paintings, and musical instruments
A new feature that I ignored at release and then almost forgot about was the Varangian Knights. They made their first appearance just a few months after release and were supposed to increase the variety of enemies. But apart from one quest, there was simply nothing related to these enemies. So I saw no reason to explore their new camps.
With the Battle Pass, that looks completely different now. I have already had to defeat named Varangian Knights multiple times, who are sometimes located in camps at hidden spots. Or I had to find and kill corresponding enemies at level 60.
Thus, I have discovered camps and places I had never been to before.
New World offers two ways to progress: the activities you can constantly do and specific seasonal challenges that can only be completed once.
Another task in the Battle Pass requires me to find a hidden painting. “What the hell are hidden paintings?” was my first thought. But then my interest was piqued, and I immediately searched for all the paintings that were implemented in the game after release and created a guide out of it.
But it doesn’t stop there:
I have started looking for good spots to gather T5 materials. They were often so cheap that I preferred to buy them for crafting rather than mining them myself. But now I have the specific task of mining them.
I am doing much more PvP faction missions again and playing PvP matches more frequently because they give me progress for the Battle Pass.
I’m running old dungeons that I have seen dozens of times.
Even the musical instruments that I completely ignored due to my long vacation in summer, I had to use more. And now I even enjoy singing a song or two in Everfall.
In short: With the Battle Pass, I have as much fun with New World as I haven’t had since the release. I have rediscovered new content and am collecting rewards for things that didn’t feel rewarding before.
The new Battle Pass is by no means perfect, and I understand anyone who criticizes certain rewards. But for me, it is a complete success because it brings so much old content back to life and gives me a task again after I perfected my equipment as much as possible.
In fact, I even hope that there will be further incentives in the future to make old maps and content relevant again. Because especially with theme park games, gamers usually get through the content much faster than developers can produce new.

Season 17 of Apex Legends is starting soon. Now, EA has accidentally shown some content, including a new character and a particularly controversial weapon from Titanfall.
A developer from Electronic Arts (EA) has accidentally revealed information about the next season of Apex Legends. In addition to events with new skins, there will also be a new character this time.
However, the biggest surprise is likely to be a weapon that could make its way into Apex Legends. The “smart pistol” from Titanfall is considered controversial and could dominate any match if it falls into the hands of a professional player.

What kind of weapon is this? The Smart Pistol MK5 in Titanfall allowed players to automatically aim at opponents. This aimed to particularly ease the gaming experience for beginners, allowing less skilled players to achieve some successes.
The major problem was that professionals also enjoyed using this weapon and could quickly dominate the entire match (via gamestar.de). Inexperienced or new players had even less of a chance against the overly strong weapon. The gap between weak and strong players instead widened because everyone used this weapon.
What happened next in Titanfall? The Smart Pistol caused quite a stir back then, and the developers had a lot to do to make the weapon somewhat competitive. Over numerous updates, the weapon was adjusted and toned down.
However, the weapon never shook off its controversial reputation. Now, there are valid concerns that one might again expect such an extremely dominant weapon in Apex Legends.
