A new trend is taking hold among the guardians of the Destiny 2 community. More and more players apparently prefer to watch the story of “The Final Shape” on YouTube rather than experiencing it themselves. They are tired of the grind and the same gameplay loop and prefer to kick back.
Why don’t guardians want to play “The Final Shape” anymore? Since “The Witch Queen,” Destiny 2 has lost significant prestige among some fans. In a Reddit thread, players expressed their reasons for this phenomenon.
The story of the DLC “Lightfall” started well but didn’t end well. Only now, in the second season, is the story becoming more exciting and the incomprehensible is being explained. However, many do not have the seasons.
Additionally, there isn’t much to do in Season 21, and some action-hungry guardians have already lost interest after a few rounds of relaxing fishing.
And then there are the server issues, which often go down in “Lightfall,” requiring more maintenance work, hence downtimes.
Not even PvP and rank advancements are currently exciting for the guardians, as not only do a lot of cheaters roam there, but they are also reminded daily of how little Bungie has paid attention to its PvP players for a long time.
All of this has greatly diminished the motivation of the “Lightfall” guardians to play Destiny 2 ambitiously and enjoy the grind like before. They are fed up with the same gameplay and are already planning not to play “The Final Shape” anymore, but simply to pull the YouTube card.

The story should not be missed, but also not played
This is the new story plan of the guardians: In a Reddit thread with currently 1,600 upvotes, the player OmegaXVI_Prime asked whether the guardians were still willing to stay until the end in the game and endure the gameplay loop.
Here it became apparent that some are already considering experiencing “The Final Shape” and thus the end of the saga of light and darkness through streams and videos on YouTube. Especially if Bungie stays true to the same gameplay and stretches the story over 4 seasons.
That’s how guardian Obersword would do it, who writes:
It is by no means a bad game, but I have lost the joy of the gameplay loop. I play it for the story events, and I will probably play “The Final Shape,” but if they extend the main story beyond that, I will probably just watch YouTube videos to see what happens.
And here it became clear that the preference to follow the upcoming story beats of Destiny 2 on YouTube does have its supporters, as Antalus-2 commented below: “This guy gets it […]”
Where will the journey of Destiny lead?
Especially the story is still important for the community: No one wants to miss the end of the light and darkness saga. So, when Destiny nerves are once again frayed, YouTube would be ideal.
Here, the contents are not only shown but often also processed. This way, not only does one save the tedious back and forth between NPCs and grind, but also better understands the essentials without having to play for hours or read in the lore.
However, the increasing shift away from direct playing in favor of YouTube consumption has also raised discussions about the actual purpose of gaming.
Some players expressed concerns that the focus is too much on passive consumption of content and that the active gaming experience is being neglected.
Others, however, do not believe that the saga truly ends after the last DLC and speculate on another cliffhanger. As player Blupoisen commented: “Let’s see if they actually finish the story in ‘The Final Shape’ and not say: ‘Oh, you want to know how it ends? Then buy the next expansions …'”
On August 22, 2023, at 6:00 PM, there might be more detailed information about this. Because then the big showcase for the upcoming DLC “The Final Shape” will take place. There, Bungie might also talk about the time after and thus the future of Destiny 2 once the great saga of light and darkness is completed.

I want to be honest. When the next WoW expansion comes out, there’s not a 0 percent chance that I will play it for a while. But it will be great to know that I can return to Diablo 4 and start fresh with everyone.
It’s a live service game. If someone buys Diablo 4 in a year, we don’t want them to feel like they are forever far behind.
Therefore, it’s also not a problem to skip one or two seasons.

At Blizzard, they clearly state: Diablo 4 is not meant for you to play non-stop throughout the year. Instead, you should take breaks, play something else, and then return with a new season in Diablo 4. Or not, and you skip a season and come back later.
In that sense, you are also not “missing” anything because with the new season, the hunt starts anew.
As far as Blizzard is concerned, when they say “You should play something else,” they ideally mean World of Warcraft:
Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp is by far the biggest streamer of League of Legends on Twitch. In a nearly 9-hour Twitch stream on Saturday, July 8, the LoL titan faced off against his brother in 20 different games, and it did not go very well. Roaring, he announced after the lost gaming duel that he would never stream again.
What kind of situation was that?
Tyler1 almost exclusively plays LoL on Twitch: In a year, he travels 2,050 hours. He plays League of Legends obsessively and takes on even the toughest challenges.
The two apparently got into it privately, and Tyler1 (28) claimed that although he only plays LoL, he is still “the better gamer” than his younger brother (27). In a 24-hour stream on Saturday, July 8, they wanted to find out who the better gamer is.

How did the stream end? The two faced off in nearly 20 games, from H1Z1 to chess to Connect Four. In the end, Erobb led narrowly at 10-9, when it came to “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
Here, the otherwise sharp Tyler1 exposed gaps in his knowledge. Although he still boasts of being in “classes for the smart kids” at school, it did not go well for the 28-year-old in the quiz.
Even when asked, “Which German composer composed after he became deaf?” Tyler1 had to use the jokers, and in the end answered with either “Beethoven” or “Mozart” while still using the phone joker.
Then it was over: when asked, “How many forms of the verb ‘to be’ are there?”, Tyler1 completely floundered, didn’t know what a verb was, then listed “Be” and “Been” and said: 2.
The correct answer was 8, as forms like “is” and “are” also count among the forms of the verb.

He also claimed to hate his brother, just wanted his peace, and would give him $10,000 if he relieved him of the commitment to do a 24-hour stream. He should think carefully about whether to take the $10,000 – that would be “like a sponsorship deal”.
Brother Erobb, however, clearly enjoyed torturing the big-mouthed Tyler1. He even said he wanted to forego the $10,000 and would rather play through the 24 hours to make Tyler1 suffer – but there was nothing more to be done with him now.

How did the stream end? When Erobb had bolted, Tyler1 was still roaring in front of his computer. He kept shouting “Fuck my life” and announced: That’s it now, he will never stream again. It is officially over. The streaming career is over.
Little brother triumphs: “He used to beat me so badly I cried”
How does Erobb see it? For the younger brother Steinkamp, the stream on Saturday was a huge triumph. The streamer says he knew he was better than Tyler1. He also told him: He plays too much LoL and therefore doesn’t have the same skills as before:

Actually, the following story initially sounds like a nice love story: A woman named Seema Ghulam Haider from Pakistan and a man named Sachin Meena from India meet through the battle royale shooter PUBG. She then moves to India with her four children, and the two want to build a future together. But their happiness ends in prison.
How has their relationship progressed? Haider and Meena met in PUBG in 2019. They exchanged their contact details on social media and had, according to the online magazine PC Gamer, hours-long phone calls. They then met in Nepal for a week and got to know each other better. What have the two done wrong? The Pakistani woman is accused of illegally entering India. The lawyer recognized from her identity card and the children’s IDs that the family had immigrated illegally and informed the authorities.
The man from India now also faces punishment for taking in an illegally entered person.
The relationship is especially a thorn in the side of the government because Pakistan and India have fought several wars since the founding of Pakistan in 1947. The tensions between the countries remain very high.

Blizzard accidentally gave away some of the rarest items in Diablo 4. Currently, there are no consequences for players who exploited this. However, that may not remain the case in the future, Blizzard reminds.
What happens to the items? Nothing. At least for now. As community lead Adam Fletcher writes in the official forum, all players who received an Uber Unique in this way may keep it.
In total, only 142 players are said to have received such an item in the time between the patch and the hotfix. The players exploited a special mechanic:
classes like Sorceress and Barbarian cannot receive any other unique items in the helm slot
thus, for these two classes, a drop of the Uber Uniques was guaranteed when one dropped
Fletcher writes that this was not intended and that the drop chances have now been fixed. However, the developers remind in a comment: if something like this happens again, Blizzard reserves the right to take action.

The German Twitch streamer ohnePixel (25) is known for his content about CS:GO (Steam), focusing less on outstanding gameplay and more on opening cases. In a huge stream, he opened boxes worth almost 120,000 euros, but mostly got nothing.
What kind of streamer is he? ohnePixel is a German streamer for Valve’s tactical shooter CS:GO. His content mainly revolves around opening loot boxes and trading the skins he obtains.
How did the stream go? In a six-hour stream, ohnePixel opened box after box – pulling one dud after another. Ultimately, the streamer received skins worth under 4,500 euros. The chances of valuable items in CS:GO are incredibly low, as shown by the experiment of a player who opened boxes for 200,000 euros.
Nevertheless, it seems that ohnePixel did not expect to have quite so much bad luck in his mega stream. “That was a kick in the pants,” the 25-year-old summarizes his haul. His co-streamer Arrow adds: “I don’t like to say it, but that was the worst possible outcome.”

Why was the stream still worth it? ohnePixel made a huge spectacle out of his record stream. Even in advance, he vigorously promoted it on Twitter, and the stream itself was also followed by big streamers like MontanaBlack, Papaplatte, and even xQc.
As a result, the stream was viewed by more than 556,000 unique viewers, with up to 232,224 viewers watching simultaneously. Many of them apparently intend to stay, as ohnePixel gained more than 77,000 new followers and nearly 29,000 new subscribers.
For ohnePixel, the mega stream proved to be a success despite all the bad luck. The new subs alone should bring him at least 70,000 euros, with additional ad revenue and sponsorship money on top of that.
On Twitter, the streamer writes that he actually doesn’t care about statistics, but a thank you seems appropriate.
The 25-year-old did not take a break, as he jumped into a win challenge with his CS:GO buddy Arrow the very next day.
Praise and Criticism
How are the reactions? Not everyone can be happy for ohnePixel. Alongside numerous congratulations, there is also criticism for the stream. Loot boxes and similar mechanics have been criticized for a long time for being nothing but gambling.
ohnePixel is a German streamer but moved to the Netherlands for his studies and predominantly streams in English. The 25-year-old has been talking about wanting to move to Switzerland for some time. In June 2023, he took a break from streaming, and Twitch colleague MontanaBlack revealed that he was in the middle of moving.
