Season 21 in Destiny 2 has completed the story, and currently the Guardians are dealing with the new Exo “Malicious Tool” and the question: Where do you get your catalyst? MeinMMO tells you what the prospects are this week and what else you can accomplish.

This is happening this week: Most players have already completed the seasonal story of Season 21 and have secured the title “Aquanaut“.

After that, only the hunt for the new season Exo “Malicious Tool” was in sight, which kept some on their toes with its spicy challenge from Miss “AlwaysScreamAtMe“.

Meanwhile, many Guardians already have the weapon in hand and are now asking: Where do I get the catalyst for “Malicious Tool”? However, this question can be answered this week.

• The catalyst can be obtained from the dives. However, only, if you reach Tier 7.

Otherwise, you can meet Lord Saladin, as he is hosting the last Iron Banner of Season 21. So if you are still missing the nice emblem, or if you want to fill gaps in your Iron Banner armor collection, or if you are still looking for the God Rolls of the Iron Banner weapons – this week is the last opportunity.

Other things were not so pleasant this week, as the community has announced the tragic loss of a friend which brought the Guardians in Destiny 2 together to be there for each other and to commemorate those who had to leave.

Vanguard: Nightfall – The Fire Trial

• The Corrupted, in the Dreaming City
  • The Guardians must find one of Queen Mara’s closest advisors, Sedia, and free her from the control of the Taken.

Crucible – This is the rotating PvP activity

• The two modes Control and Clash are running this week in PvP.

Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation

Farmable Endgame on a weekly rotation: In the further endgame wait the Legacy Rotations. This means both the rotating raid and the rotating dungeon are farmable. You can repeatedly complete the individual encounters to receive various items and complete your collection. Including possible Exotics that are available in these contents.

• The weekly Legacy Raid is the “Garden of Salvation” with the supporter Exo “Divinity”.
• Additionally, there is in the dungeon “Exponential of the Guardian” extra top-tier loot with the Exo-bow “Hierarchy of Claims”.

Bungie will further expand activity rotations of content starting in Season 22. Players will then be able not only to play raids and dungeons as “Legacy”, but also old Exotic missions.

Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City

If you still need triumphs from the Dreaming City, then pay attention: The Corruption reveals you new accesses with a sip of “Queen’s Leaf Tincture”.

• Petra Venj has the 2nd Ascendant Challenge for you this week. You can find Petra and her quest offer at the location “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. Here too, Savathun has her fingers in the pie, as the curse begins to reclaim the holy city of the Awoken at level 1.

This week, the Destiny 2 community came together to pay tribute to a tragically murdered Guardian in a moving tribute. It was an emotional demonstration of community and solidarity that showed how strong the bonds between players can be.

Which Guardian is the community mourning? The Guardian that the Destiny 2 community is currently mourning in the loot shooter is Derek Hartz. He was only 35 years old, as he tragically died on June 13, 2023, due to senseless violence during a robbery.

• Derek’s great passion and favorite activity was Destiny 2.
• As a Titan, he especially loved Gambit, the PvEvP mode of the loot shooter.
• He also had a small YouTube Channel where he occasionally shared content.

After learning of his teammate and friend’s death, he decided to do everything he could to ensure that Derek would never be forgotten. This led to an emotional Reddit post titled: “His name was Derek Hartz, and he was my friend.” There, he urged all Guardians, especially Titans, to “fly for Derek”.

That was the wish of his best friend: In the Reddit post, Derek’s friend with the nickname Complex-Piccolo3026 made his personal plea to all Titans in Destiny 2 to play a Gambit match with the “Thundercrash,” the Arc super of Titans, and to take down a few Acolytes.

But with such a large response, he probably didn’t expect it, as the Destiny community reacted immediately, emotionally, and compassionately.

We do not forget those who die

This is how the community responded to the call: The mood surrounding the gesture of his best friend was overwhelmingly positive, receiving more than 4,600 upvotes on Reddit within two days.

His tragic death not only motivated many players to fulfill his best friend’s wish together, but it also reminded them of their own lost family members, friends, and Guardians.

It was a sad but beautiful opportunity for players to connect, share memories, and offer each other comfort.

And they remembered the powerful quote from Lord Shaxx, which can be found in the lore of the hand cannon “Luna’s Howl”: “Guardians never die. But we will never forget those who did.”

Even Guardians who do not have and play Titans joined in and said that they would play a round for Derek with their Hunters and Warlocks.

In a time when virtual worlds and online communities are becoming increasingly important, this action shows that the bonds formed through games like Destiny 2 can evoke real emotions and connections. For many, a game has become a friendship and family that they cherish.

Thanks to his Destiny friend, Derek will also forever be remembered in a special way, showing that you never forget former comrades, even if you may have only known them in the game. There are also other players who have thought of their deceased clanmates in special ways.
