Aloft is a new cooperative survival game on Steam, in which you control a flying island and make it your new home.
What kind of game is it? Aloft is a sandbox survival game that you can also play online in co-op with up to 8 players.
The game is set to be released on Steam in 2024, where you can already try the demo. An exact release date and price have not yet been determined.

What to expect: In Aloft, you must survive on flying islands that orbit a perpetual storm. To do this, you make one of these islands your new home and use it as an airship to explore this new world.
As the trailer shows, you can design your island in a very individual way. In an editor, you have the opportunity to place new trees, platforms, and rocks on your island. On your island, you can build houses, plant vegetables, and keep animals – which you can even cuddle.
You will gather resources from surrounding islands that you fly to with your own. There you will find natural resources, new technologies, equipment upgrades, and secrets from long-forgotten ruins.
If you want to move around a bit more nimbly than your flying home allows, you can launch yourself into the air with a glider.
During your exploration, you will encounter many different islands, some of which are infested with nasty mushrooms. The mushrooms destroy the native plants and animals.
Your task will be to fight them off. And as the trailer shows, they do not take this lying down. In addition to exploding mushrooms that release toxic gases, small mushroom monsters will also appear that you must confront in battle.

Asmongold had to witness one of his guild members let another player fall to doom in WoW. This is so tragic because it involves a hardcore character. The death is permanent and all game progress was lost.
The video showed the player jumping off a cliff. He survived the fall because he used the Paladin ability “Divine Shield”. This grants eight seconds of immunity to all other damage.
The player then encouraged another player to jump off the cliff as well. He wanted to bestow the player with Blessing of Protection, which protects a targeted group member from damage.
The second player jumped, but no protection spell was cast on him. Therefore, he unluckily crashed to the ground and lost his character in a foolish way. The character was level 51, which likely took over 100 gameplay hours.

How did Asmongold react? The streamer and YouTuber was shocked that one of his guild members was capable of such an act. In his view, he did not intend to protect the other player.
The falling player came into his range, but he didn’t even click on his name to give him the protection spell. Instead, he joked around on his mount.
Therefore, Asmongold called for a vote: The guild chat should decide whether the player should be kicked from the guild. Asmongold showed the evidence again in slow motion and made it clear that the player never intended to protect the other. Most members voted for a kick.

Additionally, a benefit package for 5.99 euros was offered, which reduces taxes at trade posts and generally makes selling completely free. This subscription also brings advantages, such as a portable warehouse and 10% lower elan costs, which are needed for crafting. Some find these bonuses excessive.
What do the developers say about it? They responded with a statement promising changes, but were not very specific. Additionally, they quietly removed their statement that Tarisland would be an MMORPG without pay-to-win from the website and social media profiles.

What do the developers want to change? In a statement, they mentioned that they have heard the negative feedback from players. However, it mainly revolved around the issue of gear:
We want to create a fair MMORPG and have therefore decided not to sell such items in our official shop, as we consider this model to be non-P2W. Through this test, we found that our understanding of the community’s perspective differs, and we will be more cautious in our future descriptions of monetization.
Our original intention when developing this monetization model was to provide players with a smoother growth experience and to create a healthy ecosystem in the game. In the current design, all items circulating in the auction house are offered and priced directly by players, allowing them to benefit from the transactions.
At the same time, we have restricted player-to-player trading to minimize the spread of offline transactions and player losses due to gold farming studios and bots.
They did not comment on the buff for 5.99 euros and the associated elan system.
What is elan all about? This stamina system regulates how many materials you can collect and how much you can craft in general. Collecting three ores requires one elan, while crafting five copper bars requires five elan.
You receive elan automatically over time. One elan every 15 minutes. The buff, however, reduces elan costs by 10%, which offers a significant advantage in crafting. Similar systems are known from ArcheAge, Albion Online, or various mobile MMORPGs.
Are the problems really that severe? That depends on one’s own perspective. The exchange of real money for in-game currency is now possible almost everywhere, such as in Guild Wars 2 via gems, in WoW via tokens, or Black Desert via costumes. Direct pay-to-win did not exist either, as the items had to be offered by other players first.
Bonuses for quests, gold, or work points are also included in other games like Albion Online, Lost Ark, or ESO+.
Nonetheless, all these points can certainly be criticized, as can the gender lock that some dislike for the classes. It is also somewhat puzzling that they have removed the statements about being “non-pay-to-win”.
Positive aspects, however, include the dungeons, the combat system, and generally the game’s aesthetics. So not everything is automatically negative.

Imane “Pokimane” Anys is considered the queen of Twitch. Recently, the streamer introduced her new company for healthy yet tasty snacks, but instead of enjoying delicious cookies, fans have primarily been concerned about the price.
What are the cookies all about? On November 13, Pokimane introduced her company Myna Snacks along with the first product: The “Midnight Mini Cookies” promise “healthy” chocolate enjoyment, gluten-free, preservative-free, and enriched with vitamin D.
In an interview with USA Today, the streamer lamented a lack of tasty yet healthy food options: “When I wanted a delicious snack, it was full of unhealthy stuff. According to comments on X, formerly Twitter, many find this too expensive. Especially since fans discovered similar cookies from the same manufacturer at a significantly cheaper price. Pokimane explained that she improved the existing recipe and added vitamin D (via X).

How did Pokimane respond to the criticism? In a stream on November 18, Pokimane addressed the criticism of the prices of her healthy cookies. She justified the costs by stating that it is, after all, about several bags.

This is how Pokimane responds to the renewed criticism: On X, the streamer published a statement on November 20, explaining that the remarks were regarding a single unfriendly chatter, not her entire community.
She also emphasized that it was merely a joke. The streamer promised to continue considering the pricing to keep her snacks “as affordable as possible”.

Destiny 2 has had fewer players in the last 30 days. On the one hand, because there is always less going on at the end of a season. But also likely because the layoffs and cancellations have led to a loss of trust for some guardians. Bungie is under pressure and it could get even worse in season 23.
Why are player numbers currently declining? At the end of a season, player numbers in Destiny 2 always drop. This is nothing new. But this time it’s different.
The current numbers are already partially impacting endgame PvP, where it sometimes takes a long time to find a match with enough players.
However, PvP has always been a part of Destiny that actually always worked, even when there was little going on in PvE and the seasons.
The Forbes author Paul Tassi and Destiny expert is correspondingly concerned. He pointed out that the game is showing the lowest number of players on Steam in the last 30 days. And this is in a season that wasn’t even the worst in terms of its content in the current DLC year.
He thinks something needs to change, but he also fears that it will get much worse before it gets better.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape – The last DLC of the first saga
Although the “Lightfall” seasons included some explanations for the story afterward, this did not bring some players back. They expected to experience the end of the story in the “Lightfall” campaign and not in the subsequent and paid seasons.
There were still new contents, like seasonal activities, weapons, and armor. But the core of the game changed little. For all those who have been playing Destiny 2 for a long time, it didn’t feel motivating enough after 6 years. Especially when Bungie also recycles. The detour to other, new games was much more enticing.
At the end of October, there were cutbacks at Bungie. Not only were jobs lost here. The trust of the community was also shaken again and players canceled their pre-orders for “The Final Shape” in protest.
So there are several reasons that could explain why the number of players is currently so low. At least according to the statistics that can be actively tracked via Steam.

According to the statistics from Steam, an average of 34,816 players played Destiny 2 in the last 30 days. The highest number of players was 59,076. Both values represent a low point since the initial release of the game on Steam.

The website Destiny Tracker emphasizes, however, that it currently only looks so bad on Steam. There are still over 100,000 players across all platforms. However, there’s not a lot of context on whether that is enough for Bungie.

Paul Tassi suspects: If the developer were still independent, the performance of the game this year would probably have endangered the entire company. It is equally unclear to him what long-term effects this development will have on the relationship with Sony.
Can Destiny 2 recover? This is currently completely open. Destiny is special, but also the content fatigue of players over the years is a part of the game that cannot be denied.
Time that players also want to give Bungie. They want to be excited again by a grand release with “The Final Shape”. However, this upcoming expansion also marks the official end of the Light and Darkness saga in Destiny 2. There is also the danger that players will automatically drop out afterward.
A risk remains, so Bungie will need clear strategies to regain the trust of players and steer their game back in a successful direction. Whether it’s about restructuring content, redesigning reward systems, or introducing innovative features – time will ultimately decide the fate.

In the current Season 2 of Diablo 4, apparently some scammers are around. The community is now warning that you should not fall for them and give up your hard-farmed materials. If someone asks you to drop them, you should just brush them off and report them.
Gathering in groups is currently a popular way to get summons and kills faster. Because each player in the group only needs enough materials once to summon Duriel for everyone. So you can get up to four kills per group.
Actually, the system should lead to players interacting and trading more with each other and thereby solve one of Diablo 4’s earliest problems. But it seems that it is being exploited now.
If other players take your steel, they can use it for themselves or their own friends and exclude you in the process. Or, in the worst case, it can be stolen from you by someone fast when it is on the ground. Therefore, you should not drop the material and only trade with people you trust.

In the responses on Reddit, many users appear rather cynical and advise not to disclose bank details or the social security number. They are not needed for the summoning. Such scams seem to be quite well known.
Many players, however, have apparently experienced these situations earlier, as similar schemes existed in Diablo 2. The users mrgoodbytes8891 and SvenTurb01, for example, are discussing this.
Back then, it was quite common for scammers to ask inexperienced players to drop their equipment on the ground for inspection. The scammers would then scoop up the items and disappear.
In the current case, luckily, the loss is not as severe as back then, where several hundred hours of grind could lie behind the items. It is even somewhat entertaining now to see how “younger generations” figure out that they shouldn’t let themselves be scammed.

What will be changed? Dragon riding will now be called “dynamic flying” and will also be expanded to other mounts. Although not all flying mounts will use this feature at the launch of patch 10.2.5, griffons, most dragons, and many others will already be capable of it.
However, dynamic flying in the old world, Outland, Draenor, Northrend (and all other areas where you can fly) will not reach full speed. Blizzard is throttling the speed here to 80% of the possible maximum.
Why is Blizzard doing this? This is due to the size of the continents – or rather the “smallness”. Almost all continents are significantly smaller than the dragon islands. Blizzard writes in the official WoW forum:
We are reducing the speed of dragon riding outside the dragon islands to prevent travel times from becoming trivially short. We believe that 80% is a good balance between the desire to provide players with an exciting and active way of traveling while still maintaining a sense of immersion. The dragon islands are quite massive compared to some of our old continents, so we need to adjust the speed accordingly.

The distance from Valdrakken to the portal of the Emerald Dream is approximately the same as the distance from Stormwind to Ironforge.
What is the criticism? For many, this is a typical case of “Fun detected” – an old meme where Blizzard is perceived by some players to nerf everything that is somehow fun. They do not understand why Blizzard is introducing a reduction here at all.
However, there are also many who apparently misinterpreted the contribution. Because some believe that a reduction to 80% would mean that the character moves slower than with a normal flying mount – that is not the case. Even with a throttle to 80%, the movement speed is still nearly double that of epic flying mounts.
Aside from that, many are happy – because even 80% of dragon riding speed is still quite fast and a significant upgrade from the old, static flying.
In Starfield, the skill system is a central and important aspect of the game that allows players to improve and strengthen themselves. However, some aspects of the system have been criticized by fans, which is why they developed a mod that aims to make leveling fun again.
The problem with the skills, however, is that many feel unrewarding. Players spend a lot of time leveling up only to unlock skills that either feel weak or out of place. The best example is scanning planets. Levels 1 to 4 improve your skill, but they must first be painstakingly earned. This can be frustrating, which is why the community developed something.

Last Sunday, the Worlds 2023 in League of Legends set a new record for T1 and Faker, and the Worlds were able to break a viewership record in the esports field, surpassing a free mobile game.

What does Lost Ark Mobile offer? The basic features of the game are said to be very similar to the PC version, although there have been some adjustments according to the first testers:

What do the first testers say? Praise is mainly given for the graphics, which are said to look really good thanks to Unreal Engine 5. The fluid gameplay and the fact that the story has been transferred unchanged are also viewed positively.
However, critics pointed out that the combat system on mobile is complicated and demanding. Simultaneously attacking and dodging boss attacks is said to be unusual in this version. You need to get used to this new control method.
Additionally, it was mentioned that while there is autoplay, it is not particularly helpful. In automatic mode, the character only approaches the quest objectives and can perform automatic attacks. However, this is not sufficient to actually complete the quests. All abilities must be activated by the player himself.
Only the automatic use of potions when reaching a certain percentage of health points is described as very helpful.
When will Lost Ark Mobile be released? There is currently no statement about this. Firstly, the MMORPG is supposed to be released in Korea before a worldwide version is published. It may be months or years before we see a release in the West.

Release dates have not yet been set. Project G is currently in development for PC and mobile platforms. In contrast, Project M is designed for consoles and PC.
