In Baldur’s Gate 3 you don’t have to travel through the world alone, but have companions by your side. With them, you can even enter a romance, but among each other, the companions have hardly any interactions. This should change for Divinity.
What should improve? In a Q&A on Reddit, fans were able to ask the developers from Larian some questions about Baldur’s Gate and Divinity. One fan noted that with each game, the writing of the story and the narrative had improved.
He wanted to know what the developers want to improve regarding the narration compared to the earlier games. And indeed he gets a response from the Senior Writer of Larian, who will also be responsible for Divinity:
Companion relationships. Firstly, more interaction between the companions – not just more and better verbal sparring but also deeper relationships among themselves, just as they have with the players. Secondly, subtly building the friendship and romance between the players, so that the relationship feels natural.
This means that there will be even more character depth of the individual companions in Divinity, should the story writer succeed in what he aims for. The stories of the characters will then probably be more closely intertwined, and the dialogues between them will be more significant. Thus, the companions would become even more important.
And as another comment proves, players want this as well. One user writes that he would need a Bromance in the game.

Characters need to become even deeper
How does it look so far?Already in Baldur’s Gate 3, the 10 companions are unique. Each character has a very deep story and their own quests. They agree or disagree with certain decisions of the player, which develops the relationship with the player.
With high agreement, romances can even develop. However, if the agreement drops too low, the companions can even leave the group or attack the player.
Among themselves, this is not so detailed. There are only a few conversations while exploring the world. Additionally, there are scripted conflicts or story moments where the interconnected past of some characters comes to light.

Maximilian “Trymacs” Stemmler is playing as part of the Sauercrowd guild for the first time in World of Warcraft. So far, he hasn’t ended up at the spirit healer even once. Fans of the Twitch streamer should keep their fingers crossed that it stays that way.
What is Trymacs’ plan for Sauercrowd? In the dungeon “Razorfen Kraul” from WoW Classic Hardcore, the German Twitch streamer talked about the “luck” of not having ended up at the spirit healer as a mage so far. He explains:
I had 11 times under 5 percent health. That I’m alive is a miracle. And if I’m dead, I’m out too. It would be crazy if I play WoW Hardcore on the First Try and actually reach level 60. […] Then I’ll be level 60, do one raid and then … I’ll stop. I’ve just never died in WoW. Absolutely immortal.
In WoW, there is actually the achievement “The Immortal”, but it was introduced later in the game. To achieve this, you must overcome Naxxramas in 25-man mode within one ID, without losing a single raid member during a boss fight. So Trymacs cannot boast an official title. However, as an unofficial achievement, it would indeed be remarkable.

WoW Classic: The Hardcore Servers Are Here!
“I can’t do another run”
Why the safe end? Trymacs is clearly having fun with his mage (especially when he gets to blast enemies with his frost spells while being held by a tank). However, WoW Classic is so time-consuming that the streamer can’t imagine a long-term engagement with the MMORPG.
When asked why he wants to stop if he dies, Trymacs replies:
It takes way too much time. I can’t do another run. That’s just not possible.
The WoW newbie has a big advantage: he is often with a group and more experienced players in Azeroth. Furthermore, he now has emergency spells like Ice Block in his arsenal. Nevertheless, virtual life for a mage, who wears only cloth and therefore has very low survivability, can come to an end quickly.
By now, Trymacs is already level 36. He has also successfully completed the dungeon Gnomeregan (Source: YouTube).
Those who haven’t gotten everything from Legion Remix in World of Warcraft should hurry. Because prices will rise significantly soon.
Slowly but surely, World of Warcraft Legion Remix is coming to an end. January 20, 2026, will mark the end, and the alternative timeline will be closed – presumably forever. Until then, you should have leveled all your characters and spent your earned bronze. This is especially advisable for housing items. While you can still buy them later, the prices will be exorbitantly high.

The message is clear: If you want the housing decorations, you should buy them with bronze now. Because values of up to 18,000 Order Resources are quite a hefty chunk and can mean several evenings of farming work. Veiled Argunite is also not available in large quantities, but you can farm it quite simply on Argus (and only there!).
Why is Blizzard making it so expensive? The housing rewards from Legion Remix are mainly meant to be a reward for those who played Legion Remix. At the same time, Blizzard doesn’t want to take away the opportunity for anyone to still obtain these decorations in the future if they need them for their own house. Therefore, the compromise is that all items are still available, but they are indeed quite expensive.
Is it too late to start with Legion Remix? Even though the event is only a little over a week long, it is not too late yet. If you play focused and work towards some goals, you can still earn a significant portion of the rewards, even if it will become a little stressful now. However, if you only want to get a handful of items, you can still work on that in the coming days and grab them before Legion Remix ends. How to incorporate the decorations from Legion Remix well into housing can be seen, for example, in this example of a nasty Mage Tower.

How to use trade codes
How do the codes work? The codes are there for as many players in the community as possible to learn about and use them to help each other. To perform a code trade, you should follow these steps:
Select the appropriate code from the list and have the right Pokémon ready
Open your menu and follow the path: Multiplayer/Online → Link Trade → Remote Players → Link Code
Then enter the trade code from the list and wait – it can unfortunately take some time
If a suitable trading partner is found using the same code, you can proceed with the trade
Once you have traded, your desired Pokémon will evolve
Make sure your trading partner is indeed offering the desired Pokémon and, if necessary, the right item for trade. Additionally, be careful not to accidentally trade away your rare Shinies.
The system relies on trust and the fact that as many players as possible use these codes. It can also happen that you may not find anyone using the code at the same time. Just try again later.
Games are expensive, and even when trying to buy only the best titles, players occasionally make poor purchases, even in the full-price segment. A user asks the community which game purchases they regret, and receives countless responses.
In a Reddit thread, the user bijelo123 asked the community which full-price game purchases they regret. For him, it’s Battlefield 6. This question seems to deeply interest the players of r/gaming, as his thread has already received over 2,600 comments in just 9 hours (as of 01/11/2026, 12:50 PM).
The users mention many different games and the reasons why a game turned out to be a poor purchase. Sometimes it’s the technical condition, their own expectations, or simply the wrong platform.

Which titles do players mention? Among the comments on the thread, there are many different responses that have also emerged from personal backgrounds. The most popular answer comes from player UnableLove4527 (Reddit): Cyberpunk.. on Google Stadia. The comment has received almost 3,000 upvotes, more than double that of the thread itself.
Stadia was Google’s attempt in 2019 to compete in the console market (along with its own controller). The uniqueness was that it focused on streaming – you basically “borrowed” a high-end gaming PC.
Among the comments in the thread, there are also other titles mentioned with more classic arguments. For instance, Seventh_Sinner (Reddit) mentions Cities Skylines 2, which had a terrible technical state at launch.
More often, the anime fighting game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is mentioned, which, despite initial hype, couldn’t keep players in the game for long. pepsiguy24 (Reddit) regrets his purchase. He mentions Evolve, which was also a special experience for MeinMMO’s demon Cortyn.

Which game purchases does MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes regret? I have quite a few titles in my collection that I wouldn’t buy again. One game that comes to mind is Rage 2 from Avalanche Studios and id Software. I was really looking forward to the great shooting from id, but the mission design and the open world ruined it for me.
As a big fighting game fan, I was also very excited for Street Fighter x Tekken. In 2012, I was still a teenager and sold a few games to buy it right at release. Well, even though I really like both franchises, the equipment mechanics and the look just didn’t feel good.
Otherwise, I remember Mario Strikers: Battle League Football from the Nintendo side. I like Mario sports games, but it not only lacked its own identity, the focus on the online mode and the sparse single-player content just wasn’t fun.
But what about you? What gaming purchase do you still regret today and why? Feel free to write it in the comments. Even if some games are bad, you don’t have to regret them all, because even bad games can be fun: I love anime games on PS5, even though most are quite bad

In April, the second DLC for Diablo 4 will be released, titled Lord of Hatred. It brings a ton of new content, including a new part of Sanctuary that you can explore: the Skovos Isles. An initial map has already been seen and players are comparing it. Skovos will be larger than Nahantu, but whether that is a good thing, fans are not entirely sure.
This is the new area:
In the expansion Lord of Hatred, the journey goes to the Skovos Isles, located in the south of Sanctuary, a bit west of Nahantu.
Unlike the area of the first DLC, Skovos is based on Greek aesthetics, but also has a significant lore background: on the islands, Inarius and Lilith spent a lot of time and created the first civilization during the time of the Nephalem. It is the oldest region of Sanctuary.
What all this means for gameplay, we do not know yet – only that with Skovos, fishing will also come as a feature. At least regarding size, players have already found clues.
Where does the map come from? Currently, a map of Skovos is circulating on Reddit, which was first published in December 2025 – and even here with us. In a promotional ad on MeinMMO as well as with our colleagues from GameStar, a map of the islands can be found.
As users have discovered in another thread, the silhouette of Skovos exactly matches the “War Table”, a new endgame feature from Lord of Hatred that has already been introduced. For many, the comparison between Skovos and Nahantu is more interesting.
Thus, one user has scaled the maps as best as possible and placed them side by side with the result: Skovos could be about a quarter larger than Nahantu. In discussions, fans are sure that at least the map looks “legit”, and the comparisons could be accurate. Only whether the size is beneficial is still being discussed.
Start video
Diablo 4 shows content from the second DLC Lord of Hatred in the gameplay trailer
“Can’t wait to not look at 99% of the map”
In the comments in various threads, players are discussing what there will be to discover in Skovos – aside from the best fishing spots. Nahantu had some new collectible items, but in Skovos, fans are hoping for “more Points of Interest.”
The size of the map could even be a problem, some users feel. Most parts are ignored anyway because players have to ride to the next boss or bounty while staring at the minimap.
Unlike its predecessors, Diablo 4 does not have a transparent map overlay, a feature that veterans miss dearly and have been demanding for ages. Colleague Peter Bathge from GameStar even dedicated a column to the feature and does not understand why Diablo 4 stubbornly ignores the map overlay.
With Lord of Hatred, not only Skovos appears as a new map, but the game also gets a new class, making it the third overall since release. After the Paladin was surprisingly released with Season 11, Blizzard has promised a second, yet unknown class for the DLC.
The universe of Warhammeris ancient – and not just because the tabletop game has existed since 1983. The fantasy world has a long history. Here we present the 5 oldest of these beings.
[toc]
The Warhammer universe encompasses many different worlds that are – sometimes more, sometimes less – strongly interconnected. The oldest of these worlds is the “Old World.” The tabletop game began with this in 1983.
The Old World offers fairly classic fantasy with humans, dwarfs, elves, orcs, vampires, and more. It is also this world that you conquer in the grand sandbox campaign of Total War: Warhammer 3 – or try to save from the end of the world in the co-op slasher Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
But did you know that the Old World did not always look like it does now? Long before most of the currently living races existed, the world was already inhabited and shaped by other beings. Many of them have become rarer today – or have even completely disappeared.
What is being ranked here? We are only looking at the oldest beings from Warhammer: The Old World. Warhammer: Age of Sigmar eventually ties into the end of the Old World, and Warhammer 40,000 takes place in the distant future of our own universe. You can read about the differences between the various Warhammer settings on MeinMMO.
For the ranking, we examined the age of these beings within the lore. As a starting point, we chose the coronation of Karl Franz, the current Emperor of the Empire. This can be easily located in the Imperial Calendar (IC) used by Warhammer Fantasy: It took place in the year 2502 IC. However, since Games Workshop deliberately avoids exact dates when it comes to events before year 0 (when Sigmar Heldenhammer founded the Empire), there are not always concrete numbers for the time relevant to us. The ranks are awarded in ascending order, from the youngest to the oldest.
As a source for the entire lore, we used the Lexicanum, a fan-created online wiki about Warhammer. Its entries refer to official material that comes directly from Games Workshop or licensed partners.
Rank 5: Slann
Still ancient but only in 5th place are the Slann. These creatures resemble fat toads and sit on palanquins magically levitating above the ground. They are the leaders of the lizardmen, their priests, and incredibly powerful mages.
Start video
Der In-Engine-Trailer zur Fraktion der Echsenmenschen aus Total War: Warhammer 2
Although they are the youngest beings on this list, they are still old enough to remember a world without humans and dwarfs. Many Slann died in the first great war against Chaos – one of several events that nearly wiped out the world of Warhammer Fantasy. Since the disappearance of their masters, no new Slann have been born.
One of the oldest living Slann is Lord Mazdamundi, although his exact age is not known. However, we do know that he belongs to the second brood of Slav that occurred sometime after -10,000 IC (events that occurred before year 0 are marked with a “-“). This makes Lord Mazdamundi about 12,000 years old.
In terms of age (and power), he is surpassed only by one other, namely Lord Kroak. He was one of the first Slann created between -15,000 IC and -10,000 IC. However, he has not actually “lived” for a long time, existing instead as a “relic priest” – his spirit lingers in his mummified body.

Many film classics like The Lord of the Rings still look quite good decades after their release, often even better than many new movies. This is also due to an effective but labor-intensive technique behind the scenes.
What technique is being referred to? The old trilogies of Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings are still considered classics today. They shape pop culture even now and are still appreciated as films. This is also because these old movies still look quite good decades later.
This is partly due to many techniques that were used back then, as there were no CGI capabilities like today. One of these elements is miniatures. Since the beginnings of films, they have been an important part.

Epic Trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship
Miniatures have been present since the dawn of film
What is meant by miniatures? In a YouTube video, the film and series channel Nerdstalgic explains why miniatures were so effective. Miniatures refer to structures that have recreated a specific scene or environment on a smaller scale.
Although stop-motion films like The Humpty Dumpty Circus (Source: scriptandshutter.blog) already used miniatures in 1898, one of the first films to use miniatures with real actors was Le Voyage dans la Lune (in English: A Trip to the Moon) from the year 1902. It was one of the first sci-fi films to use miniatures, costumes, and drawings to depict a journey into space. You can watch the nearly 13-minute film in its entirety on YouTube.
Over the years, miniatures were then used in various films in different ways. As Nerdstalgic explains, the size of the miniatures varied as well. For example, the model for the capital of Gondor in The Lord of the Rings, Minas Tirith, according to MiddleEarthUpdates (YouTube), was up to 7 meters tall. This allows for impressive scenes that highlight the size of such a city.

In which films were miniatures also used? In many major films, miniatures were an important factor in highlighting scale relationships, but also in impressively portraying locations:
For the scenes with the monkey, multiple models of the creature were used in King Kong from 1933 (Source: YouTube). Through the mix of stop-motion, real actors, and miniature constructions, the creature could be brought to life.
The first Star Wars trilogy consists of many small miniatures. Especially the various ships and the Death Star were built to shoot many of the impressive scenes (Source: YouTube).
The large cityscape of Los Angeles that you can see in the first Blade Runner (1982) is also a miniature. The lighting effect was produced using small lamps (Source: YouTube).
Why are miniatures so good? As a commentator under the Nerdstalgic video notes: Miniatures look realistic because they are real. There is no CGI that doesn’t look good after years because it is filmed on a real existing set that just happened to be small. The trick lies in working with perspectives and effects that make the miniatures look realistic.
The problem is: Miniatures are expensive. Not only do you need the materials and labor time, but you also need many employees and the space to use the miniature as a set. In addition, you must carefully plan how to use and implement the miniature in the film. Additionally, such a filming method is also error-prone. Greenscreens and CGI effects are cheaper and save time and money, even if they don’t always look better. Nerdstalgic itself points out:
Why spend millions of dollars to build a tiny model house or castle to shoot it for a few seconds when you can create it digitally for just a tenth of the cost?
ARC Raiders was a surprise success in 2025 that continues to this day. As is common in an extraction shooter, there eventually comes a wipe. In ARC Raiders, however, it was voluntary. But even though many players participated, the developers still want to improve a lot.
When ARC Raiders launched in October 2025, few would have thought how successful the extraction shooter would become. After all, even today, at peak times, there are between 300,000 and 400,000 players on Steam (via SteamDB).
In an interview with PCGamesN, the game’s design director, Virgil Watkins, revealed that a little over a million players chose to participate in the wipe. However, that is still not enough for Embark.
Especially due to absurd situations, ARC Raiders is popular:
Start video
Spieler in Arc Raiders schreit so laut um Hilfe, dass der Nachbar die Tür aufbricht
They want to analyze player data and adjust the wipe
What does Embark want to consider for the future? One of the biggest feedback topics regarding the wipe was the requirements for skill points upon reset. You could earn up to 5 skill points for the server restart, with 1 million coins (and the value of your gear) equaling one skill point.
He explains that they probably waited too long with the information. They wanted to wait to adjust the requirements to the actual economic power of the player base instead of guessing too early. Watkins believes that the information led some players to feel pressured to reach that value.
According to the interview, of the nearly 1 million players who chose to participate in the wipe, about 35% to 40% of them reached the full 5 skill points. While they are satisfied with that, they want to make this process even more interesting in the future:
We are fully aware that it is not particularly motivating to only be after money, [and this] can lead to the use of your equipment becoming unattractive, which is what people actually look forward to at the end of a reset cycle.
Virgil Watkins on the requirements for wipe bonuses (Source: PCGamesN)
For future server wipes, they want to analyze how players liked the bonuses. They also want to look at how to encourage players who proceed more slowly or did not participate in the wipe to use the feature. They do not want these players to feel left behind.
Wipes are probably the most controversial topic in extraction shooters because you lose hard-earned loot. What do you think about it? Did you participate in the wipe in ARC Raiders, or did you stay in the first expedition? Feel free to let us know in the comments. But you should be careful about what you wear: Players of ARC Raiders rate 30 outfits based on how likely you will be shot in the shooter

Sauercrowd, the project by HandOfBlood, Metashi, and Papaplatte, is currently dominating Twitch. The idea: throw newcomers into WoW Hardcore and see what happens. A female streamer has now learned how important it is to hit “Enter” at the right moment – or not.
Who is the streamer? LillyTheChilly usually hangs out in the “Just Chatting” area on Twitch and streams all sorts of games. She is not really known for World of Warcraft.
With an average of 360 viewers (according to sullygnome), she is among the smaller streamers on the platform. In Sauercrowd, she played a human mage alongside Staativ and Nooreax – the latter having just recently passed away.
This is the deadly mistake: Lilly’s teammates are currently discussing Nooreax’s untimely death, who apparently took on too large a group of enemies after too little sleep. The mage herself is sitting in the Elwynn forest near Princess and has transformed one of the follower pigs into a sheep to take a breather.
In the clip on Twitch, you can see her silently grinning while eating a bite and not realizing that the transformation is being canceled. The pig runs towards her and attacks directly, even though her mage already had very little health left.
Instead of casting a transformation again and fleeing, she is actively typing her keybinds in the chat – something that happens to every WoW player at least once, even the self-proclaimed pros. If you wonder why the character suddenly stops moving, it’s often just that the chat window is open (due to pressing “Enter” or “R”) and instead of casting spells, it shows: “1231212wawawtfichkannmichnichtbewegensdads” in the chat.
Lilly experiences exactly this situation and just a few moments later her mage – fortunately “only” at level 8 – is dead. Her death is commented on in voice chat with: “WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” and: “I told you, we are the Suicide Squad.”

HandOfBlood: The most important thing about the YouTuber and Twitch streamer in under a minute
WoW newcomers learn from the mistakes that all of you have known for 20 years
What is a situation that seasoned WoW veterans have certainly experienced at least once very early on, represents a novelty for many members of Sauercrowd. Because many of them do not know World of Warcraft at all, and for some, WoW Hardcore is even their very first MMO.
Many of the members are going into the game completely blind, partly with tips like: “Do not go alone into caves under any circumstances,” but some mistakes you only learn on your own – like, that the most dangerous bosses are not NPCs and can be killed without attacks.
Apparently, the plan is working, as Sauercrowd is dominating Twitch globally at launch and gives WoW an enormous boost on the streaming platform. Deaths like Lilly’s are definitely one of the reasons for the success, even the OnlyFangs founder Sodapoppin is already reacting to the collected clips (on YouTube).
The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is loved by many players. This is also due to the many missions that you can face in Night City. But what if you fail in all missions where it is possible? A player has now tried this.
In Cyberpunk 2077 there are many missions. Among them are main missions within the story, but also side quests and objectives from fixers that you can face as a good mercenary to earn money.
Each of these types of missions has various tasks that can even fail if you do not perform well as a player. On YouTube, the player Big Dan Gaming has taken on the challenge of failing in every mission (where it is possible) in Cyberpunk 2077.
This not only leads to angry calls.

On Reddit, a user has summarized all the missions in which you can fail and the game does not simply restart. According to this list, there are 73 missions (Big Dan Gaming comes to 69 in his video), contracts, and side quests in which you can fail.

What happens when you fail in missions? To lose certain tasks, it is usually enough to run away, destroy a car you were supposed to acquire, or eliminate a person you are supposed to save. In fixer missions, this usually results in receiving a pretty angry call and being insulted over the phone. People like Wakako even go so far as to threaten you with death.
However, there are also side missions where you can fail. This causes the story in the game to change. For example, if you simply run away during the mission Riders on the Storm by Panam when you have to wait at the camp, you will receive a message that Saul, the leader of the Aldecaldos, has died. Interestingly, he still calls you in the credits.
This affects how you can approach the last mission. Depending on which side quest you fail, it also prevents you from accessing further quests.
If you own the DLC Phantom Liberty, you can even fail in the very first main mission. You just have to run away before you reach Dogtown. This results in President Myers dying. After a fainting spell and an outburst from Songbird, you wake up again but can no longer play the Phantom Liberty story. However, thanks to Mr. Hands, you can still complete the side quests in Dogtown. The second main mission in the DLC is also fail-able and blocks the main quest for you.
In the main game, there is only one main mission where you can fail without the game loading a save point. If you make the right decision in the mission Chippin’ In, you can start the last mission (Don’t Fear) The Reaper. There you run alone into the Arasaka Tower, but if you die, the credits start, and the game ends.
MeinMMO author Johanna only wanted a video game to make her vacation more enjoyable. But then she suddenly had to spend a whole week in front of the PC screen to free the Hades from Chronos.
During my vacation, I finally had the chance to relax and game again. I had planned very little for myself, so I could spend as much time as possible in front of the PC. However, at first, I couldn’t estimate how much time I would really spend in front of the screen.
Hades 2 has already been rated as a good game by others: It won the award for Best Action Game at the Game Awards and the community deemed the game “Extremely Positive” with 98% positive reviews on Steam.
Personally, I initially had my doubts about whether I would play the game a lot. As much as I enjoyed the predecessor Hades, I couldn’t manage more than two or three completed runs. The game didn’t really grab me; it only provided brief moments of fun.
However, when I saw that Hades 2 was discounted during the Steam Winter Sale and I could play as a woman – often the number one incentive for me to try a game – I gave the second part a chance. So when I hit the “Buy” button, I had no idea what kind of spell the game would cast on me.

Back in Hades, this time with a different mission
What is Hades 2 about? While in the first Hades we wanted to escape from Hades and our father as Zagreus, in this part we aim to reach Hades. We play as Melinoe, the daughter of Hades and thus the sister of Zagreus.
After the events in Hades 1, the Titan Chronos has taken over the house of Hades and captured the god of the underworld. Melinoe has been trained by the witch Hekate to kill Chronos and restore the rightful ruler to the throne.
The gods support us from Olympus. Hera, the queen of the Olympians, gives us attacks that bind the enemies.
At the same time, we also have a mission in the overworld, as Olympus is being attacked by a giant monster and we must fight alongside the gods.
The gameplay is again structured like a roguelike. With each death, we grow stronger: we can unlock and enhance more weapons and conjure more options for the dungeons.
1 week just at home in front of the screen
After the first few runs, I almost regret spending around 22 euros on Hades 2, as the game is not as much fun as I had hoped. I initially dismissed it as a casual game that I would play occasionally, but not much more. Just like I felt about its predecessor.
But after the first day of casual gaming, something changed: I realized how much this game actually has to offer, and I became motivated to unlock more and more. I fell into a real addiction to the game.
It came to a point where I had the exact same daily and nightly routine for a week: getting up at 11 AM, gaming, going to bed at 3 AM. “Just one more run,” I told myself as I glanced at the clock, which showed 03:14, and felt guilty.
In total, I clocked a good 86 hours of gameplay in one week.
So much to do, so little time
What is so captivating about Hades 2? The biggest difference from Hades 1, and thus a reason why the game grabs me so much: There is more to do. In Hades 2, we can choose which run to attempt: either going to Chronos in the underworld or to the overworld to liberate Olympus.
This variety of the two scenarios ensures that my frustration over a failed run in either of the two dungeon sections is much lower. Failed in Hades? No problem! On to Olympus!
Moreover, the rewards in meta-progression played a significant role. While in Hades 1, one could improve Zagreus and the dungeons, in Hades 2, more is possible:
Through different spells, new sections and advantages in the dungeons can be unlocked. The materials required for that must be collected in the dungeons.
Through the spells, further interaction options at the crossroads (the base) can also be unlocked.
Melinoe can take animal companions into the dungeon, which provide her with various advantages.
I preferred the cat Toula as a companion. Not only because CAT, but also because she gave me an extra life, which I desperately needed due to my chaotic playstyle.
I found it hard to choose between Eris and Nemesis. Luckily, you can pursue all four options (along with Moros and Icarus) without anyone getting jealous.
By now, I have been cured of my Hades 2 addiction… at least partially. While I have completed the game, there is still much to do even after the story. Weapons can always be maxed out, right?
What do you think of Hades 2? Has it captivated you as well? Let us know in the comments! In the first Hades, it was similar for MeinMMO demon Cortyn. She also just wanted a quick distraction for a relaxed gaming evening, but the game Hades had different plans for her and her time: I wanted an evening distraction, then 100 hours passed

As gamers, one can never have enough storage space. That’s why I downloaded a free program to find out where I can clear out data junk – and EA had plenty of digital clutter to offer.
In my daily life, I install and uninstall many games. Some I play privately, some I check out professionally to test them or stay up to date. While writing this article, I have 51 games installed – including some indie games that are only a few gigabytes in size.
It’s important to me that when uninstalling a title, nothing remains on the hard drive that I don’t absolutely need. That’s why I downloaded a free program to address potential storage space waste.
A profile or save game can remain, as those usually take a few hundred megabytes to a maximum of 1–2 gigabytes. But 60 GB large files are just too much.

A program to analyze them all!
I finally got a program to analyze my storage media. With such a tool, you can clearly see which folders on your hard drives take up how much space, and then clear up accordingly.
The installation of such a tool had long been on my agenda, and now it was finally time. I chose the TreeSize program in the free version. Alternatively, you can also use WinDirStat. It is also used by MeinMMO’s tech expert Benedikt Schlotmann. There is not a big difference in the functionality of the two programs.
Before I continue, here are the links to the programs for you:
Compared to the storage space display of Windows, programs like TreeSize or WinDirStat offer a more detailed and visual representation of storage space. I can now identify which folders and files consume the most space with large colorful blocks and percentage or GB indications. This allowed me to identify large amounts of data that I wasn’t aware of before, even though I regularly kept an eye on my hard drives in the past with Windows and also through Steam. This makes optimization much more efficient.

Data graveyard of the Kemono
In just a few minutes, I was able to determine with TreeSize that quite a bit of data junk had accumulated. The EA App, along with a game I uninstalled years ago, Wild Hearts, weighed particularly heavily.
Wild Hearts is a hunting game in the spirit of Monster Hunter, developed in February 2023 by the Japanese studio Koei Tecmo and published by Electronic Arts.
In the fantasy world of Azuma, inspired by feudal Japan, you hunt creatures known as Kemono. These are once-peaceful monsters filled with the power of nature, now devastating their surroundings.
The main feature of Wild Hearts is the combat system, which offers a form of live crafting: while fighting the gigantic beasts, you can create structures like huge hammers, walls, and slingshots.
We accompanied Wild Hearts on MeinMMO for a while in 2023, so I also played it for a few hours. However, the hunting game had a difficult standing. MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus mentioned at the time about 5 reasons why Wild Hearts is a flop. And so it quickly disappeared from my hard drive as well – or so I thought.
I played Wild Hearts through the EA App and had already uninstalled it in 2023. Since then, it hasn’t shown up among my installed games. It also didn’t appear in the storage space menu of Windows. However, in TreeSize, I discovered that the entire game with over 62 GB was still on the hard drive – not just a save or profile settings, but the entire game.
EA had stolen around 62 GB of my storage space for almost 3 years.
However, Wild Hearts and EA were not alone. There were more space-wasting culprits on my hard drive.
There were still 20 GB of mods from ARC: Survival Evolved installed, which should have been removed with the uninstallation of the dino game – just as the remaining 130 GB of mods were removed.
The beta of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 still took up around 5 GB due to leftover data, even though the game has not been on the PC for years.
Also, ARK: Survival Ascended left behind around 5 GB of mod content despite the uninstallation.
And since I find Ubisoft Connect really terrible and hardly use it, I forgot to uninstall the long-dead XDefiant through the studio’s own launcher. That was also over 50 GB.
Thanks to TreeSize, in just a few minutes, I was able to save over 140 GB of storage space by identifying and deleting forgotten and improperly uninstalled files. And that was reason enough for me to tell you about it in this article. In the universe of Marvel, new teams are constantly being formed to counter threats to Earth. In 2025, a brutal version of the Avengers was established, which primarily has to deal with ugly clones.
What are these new Avengers? In June 2025, a new New Avengers comic series started by author Sam Humphries, after the Thunderbolts movie of the MCU introduced a film variant. Usually, the New Avengers teams are less heroic than the main team.
In a variant of the New Avengers series from 2005, Marvel geniuses founded the Illuminati. But they have done rather less heroic things, like shooting their friend Hulk into space. The members of the new New Avengers are not exactly classical heroes either:
Bucky Barnes as Winter Soldier
Natasha Romanoff as Black Widow
The King of Atlantis: Namor, or the Sub-Mariner
The wife of Doctor Strange, Clea, who is currently the Sorceress Supreme
The brutal symbiote Carnage, who has currently infected Eddie Brock
Laura Kinney as Wolverine
Especially Carnage stands out here. Of course, the others are also rather anti-heroes, relying on deadlier methods, but Carnage is one of the deadliest Spider-Man villains, who previously killed many people alongside the serial killer Cletus Kasady. But for their new enemies, they need such methods, as they are the very distorted version of powerful heroes.

Classic Villain Ideas: Clones
What are these clones? Right in the first issue of New Avengers (2025), the Spider-Man villain Jackal showcases his new creation: 7 clones based on the powerful heroes of the Illuminati. All with the new team name Killuminati:
Bolt as a clone of Black Bolt
Mr. Ourobouros as a clone of Mister Fantastic
Guru Strange as a clone of Doctor Strange
Professor X-Tinction as a clone of Professor X
Luke Charles as a clone of Black Panther
Iron Apex as a clone of Iron Man
Imperius Rex as a clone of Namor
At first glance, you can see that they are not exact clones of the known characters. They look distinctly more absurd and distorted, in the case of Imperius Rex not even human. He is a flying octopus, which should not be underestimated. Together with Mr. Ourobouros, he represents the probably most dangerous members of the group.
6 of the 7 Killuminati on the cover of New Avengers (2025) No. 4 (Image source: Marvel)
Why are Mr. Ouroboros and Imperius Rex particularly dangerous? While 2 of the clones have already been defeated in issue 2 (Source: Marvel), later, especially the octopus Imperius Rex causes them problems. He can not only attack Namor telepathically and make him act against his friends, but he can fly, heal himself, and even become a real Kaijū like Godzilla.
Mr. Ouroboros, on the other hand, is so dangerous solely because of his intellect. In the Marvel Universe, Mister Fantastic has often shown that he is capable of many inventions, and one of his evil variants threatened the entire universe.
How can I read the story? Currently, you still need to order English single issues or read them digitally. On March 10, 2026, a collection volume titled Vol. 1 will be released, summarizing issues 1 to 5. This will also be in English. A German version has not yet been announced. Comic apps can be a good alternative if you don’t have much space. On January 7, 2026, the first Season 2026 in League of Legends started. Not only were all Champions in the game adjusted, but some things in the game were changed as well. Overall, the game is now significantly faster. However, this does not please all players.
What is this new season? With Patch 26.1, the new Season 16 in LoL started. In addition to buffs and nerfs for some champions, many changes were made to the game itself. Some highlights from the official patch notes (Source: leagueoflegends.com):
Each of the 5 roles now has its own quest, which grants buffs and advantages upon completion
Atakhan, the Blood Roses, and the Deeds of Strength have been removed
Critical hits have been adjusted
With the fairy lights, a new vision mechanic has been introduced
Matches start faster
Home Guard has been adjusted and greatly improved
Pushing and destroying towers has become more rewarding
Many of the changes ensure that the game is significantly faster than in the previous season. The improvement in Home Guard also makes the overall game speed faster. However, the significantly faster matches do not please all players.

Matches feel less meaningful, say players
What do players say about the new season? In a Reddit thread, user Greitot talked about his experiences with the current season. For him, the shorter matches feel meaningless and less fun. His thread currently has (as of January 10, 2026) over 1,800 upvotes and 550 comments.
According to his experiences, matches are significantly faster. He had some matches that ended after 18 minutes, without a team giving up. For him, LoL games used to be exciting because they lasted long, as you could feel the growing influence. It basically feels like I’m playing a random, flashy side mode, and the actual Rift is just gone.
Some players agree with him in his thread. Shroud_Diff (Reddit) does not like the changes to Home Guard: People return to lane very quickly after being recalled. Other users, like Fatmanpuffing (Reddit), say that we need to wait and see how players adapt to the new season before making long-term judgments.

Why can short matches be frustrating? Many champions (and also some of the new role quests) only really unfold in the late game. Even if you win, there may be times when you cannot play your champion (like Kayle) properly.
For some players, the game is not just about the laning phase or pushing. The longer a game lasts, the more exciting teamfights or even comebacks can become.
But short matches also have advantages: LoL can be a very frustrating match, and if you have to play for 40 to 50 minutes before a team wins, that is a bad player experience. Moreover, short matches are advantageous for players who do not have much time but still want to play 1 or 2 LoL matches in the evening.
Blizzard brings the leaderboards back to Diablo 4 – so leaderboards where you can compete with others. We summarize the highlights of patch 2.5.2 for you.
Here’s what the leaderboards are about:
In Season 3, the leaderboards came to Diablo 4 – a weekly trial in a fixed dungeon that changed every week. Accordingly, they served as leaderboards where you could compete against other players.
After a few seasons, Blizzard removed the leaderboards from the game to bring them back in an updated form at a later date.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, the leaderboards will return to Diablo 4 with the update to patch 2.5.2. The beta will start at 8:00 PM CET on seasonal realms.
In addition to the leaderboards and the activity “The Tower”, the patch also brings some bug fixes and improvements. You will now be informed about why you cannot sanctify items specifically. You can find the detailed English patch notes on page 2 of the article.

Diablo 4 showcases its new features from Season 11 in the gameplay trailer
Leaderboards in Diablo 4: Timing and Process
How long do the leaderboards run? Blizzard divides the leaderboards into several two-week rounds that extend over the course of the season. They end on the last day before the conclusion of Season 11. After the final round, both the Tower and the leaderboards will not be available until the start of the next season.
An example of the timing of the leaderboards (source: Blizzard):
Round 1: January 12, 8:00 PM CET – January 26, 8:00 PM CET
Round 2: January 26, 8:00 PM CET – February 9, 8:00 PM CET
etc.
Since this is a beta, Blizzard emphasizes that the feature will be further adjusted based on player feedback. In upcoming seasons, the Tower should also be expanded with additional features, such as rewards.
This is how the leaderboards work: To enter the Tower, you must have completed rank 2 of the seasonal rank. You then enter it through the obelisk in Cerrigar and can navigate through it on all difficulty levels that you unlock.
Within the leaderboards, you fight through several levels with random layouts and random monsters while a timer counts down. The goal is to defeat the tower boss at the end. You can use so-called “Pylons” that grant you advantages and help you raise your points as quickly as possible.
After each run, you will see which tower level you have reached and how long you took. If you disable cross-play, your access to the leaderboards will be limited. There are also two separate leaderboards – one for Hardcore and one for Normal.
To successfully hack your way through the Tower and earn a high spot on the leaderboards, you need a strong build. You can find which builds currently perform particularly well in the endgame of Diablo 4 in our overview including explanations and links for recreating: Diablo 4 Endgame Tier List: The best builds for all classes in Season 11

Fair consequences or unfair player behavior?
How did the confrontation end? The paladin stuck to his statement and the bard “died”. Suspencer711 explains that the rule of their game master excludes permanent character deaths, and thus a death only results in a character permanently losing a body part, which also affects the attributes and movement rate.
According to the paladin, no one in the group was angry and the bard stopped throwing herself into combat thoughtlessly. Furthermore, she is now adorned with a wooden leg.
The player does not regret his decision. He wanted to teach her a lesson, and that has (so far) worked. However, he wanted to know what the community thinks of this action – and they are absolutely not in agreement.
What does the community say about the player’s justification? While the paladin is convinced that he acted correctly, other players on Reddit do not seem to agree. They understand what he intended and that it should fit with his paladin, but they are rather surprised that his action did not cause trouble at the table.
“In general, it is not well seen if one does not save a comrade from death,” writes Paul_Michaels73, “but sometimes one simply has to let someone face the consequences of their actions both in and out of character.”
InsiredBagel agrees: “It is bad etiquette to let a fellow player die when the reason is: ‘My character would do this.’ But on the other hand… those who play foolish games get foolish prizes.”
In another comment, where the paladin describes how things continued for the group, the paladin seems to have found a suitable balance between consequence and team spirit. The equally reckless monk was close to death and in this case the paladin chose mercy:
“I placed my hands on him and asked the DM if I could strike him. I dealt 4 damage, brought him down to 0, and knocked him out, only to bring him back up to 5 hit points immediately. That was undoubtedly the funniest moment of the evening.”

Paladins in Dungeons & Dragons try to adhere to a special oath in their adventures and intentions, which defines the holy warriors. Often, the oath can also be a motivator or a decisive point in making a specific decision. However, when a player uses it to justify his behavior in the game, it divides the community.
What does the paladin want to justify? The player and paladin Suspencer711 turns to the D&D community on Reddit, with whose own answer he is no longer so sure. He consciously chose to let a fellow player “die” and justified his decision with his “Oath of Vengeance”.
He finds himself in a group with three other players, a fighter, a monk, and a bard. He and the fighter take the game quite seriously, while the monk and bard like to indulge in lighthearted antics.
Already during their very first battle, these two different approaches of the adventuring party became apparent. The paladin and the fighter wanted to enter a dangerous area first, as they could tank the best. But before they could proceed, the other two rushed headlong into danger with (un)healthy eagerness.
Within one turn, the bard was knocked down by a monster due to her overconfidence and began making death saving throws to avoid dying.

Final Fantasy XIV Trailer for Version 1.0 Shows a Past Era
Is there a reason for the free login event? The official website for the game states that they want to show the current content to as many people as possible. The last major patch was 7.4 and buffed many of the attacker jobs. Additionally, all healers were buffed. There were nerfs for the tank class Revolver Blade and the DPS class Viper.
In conjunction with the login event, Final Fantasy XIV advertises the new content from Patch 7.4. They mention the new trial: Doomtrain and the raid dungeon Arkadion – Super Heavyweight. With the update, the ability to use any projection, regardless of your class, has also been introduced. You can thus use everything from your wardrobe.
If you wanted to look into the new content again but weren’t sure if a subscription is worth it for you, you have the perfect opportunity until February 9, 2026.
Intros are not only important for movies, but games also benefit from strong intro levels. An action game has such a good one that MeinMMO editor Nikolas Hernes can’t stop thinking about it even after more than 15 years.
Every gamer knows the few moments in video games that stay in memory even after decades. These can be dialogues, boss fights, or specific levels. When I think of the best video game moments of all time, I quickly think of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
In the 2008 action title, you play as Galen Marek, a secret apprentice of Darth Vader. As a Sith apprentice, you fight against various enemies and bosses in different levels and become more and more powerful over time. The Force Unleashed is a good action game, not outstanding, but still so entertaining that I have played through it several times. A few years after the release on the Wii and later again on the Xbox 360.
But the intro of the game still stands out strongly even after years, so much so that it remains one of my favorite levels of all time, even though you play a different character: Darth Vader.
In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you play a much nicer character:

Why is the intro so good? The first level of The Force Unleashed shows the backstory of Marek and how Darth Vader found him in the first place. As a Sith Lord, he personally leads an invasion on the planet Kashyyyk, which is inhabited by Wookiees.
With a swift step and the legendary breathing, he faces the warriors using Force powers and the red lightsaber. This level is not a challenge, and every blockade and every enemy is dealt with easily. You are literally the one-man army of the Empire. At the end there is a boss fight against a Jedi, but that is not particularly challenging either.
What makes the level so good? The Force Unleashed is not the only game that shows how powerful you can become right from the start, but it works well on two levels.
Gameplay-wise, it demonstrates how strong the Force and lightsaber can be in an (to Vader) harmless environment, without presenting it in a mundane tutorial. At the same time, you see the later mentor in top form.
Even within the Star Wars universe, this intro is a highlight. The arguably best villain of the series showcases all his skills on the battlefield. Together with the end of the movie Rogue One, it ranks among the best moments of Vader and perfectly shows why he is still a threat after all these years.
Can I still enjoy the game today? The controls are somewhat stiffer than what you would expect from today’s action titles, but it is still playable, especially if you want to experience a true power fantasy in the Star Wars universe. You can buy the game (and the slightly worse sequel) on Steam and play it without any issues.
